Mighty Gunvolt delivered to all Mighty No. 9 backers. (US redeemable only)

This was mentioned in a few threads, but got buried in amongst other (arguably more interesting) news.

Anyone who backed the Mighty No. 9 kickstarter is receiving the 8-bit cross over between Mighty No. 9 and Azure Striker Gunvolt for free. The e-mails should all have been sent out, so if you backed even $5 to the game you should have it.

Unfortunately, the codes are limited to North America only.

Greetings Mighty Becker!

Takuya Aizu from Inti Creates here with a present for you :)

As you may have heard by now, Inti Creates announced as part of our panel at PAX Prime last weekend that we would be giving out a code for the North American 3DS version of our new game, Mighty Gunvolt, to every single backer of Mighty No. 9 – that means you!

Just enter this code at the eShop of any (North American region) 3DS, and your FREE download of Mighty Gunvolt will be ready to go!

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

So just what is this game you’re getting for free?

Mighty Gunvolt is an old-school, 8-bit NES-style retro-demake mini-adventure, which features Mighty No. 9’s very own hero, Beck, as a playable character! Play as one of three heroes, each with their own unique powers, as you run, double-jump, dash and blast your way through 5 stages of baddies and bosses! It’s a bite-sized game, but you can really sink your teeth into it. :)

And hey, if you have a 3DS and like this type of game (and since you’re a Mighty No. 9 backer, we are guessing you do!), we hope you’ll also check out Inti Creates’s other big new game, Azure Striker Gunvolt!

Gunvolt is a fast-paced 2D action/platformer in the style of the Japanese 16-bit classics of yesteryear. Great controls, crisp graphics, unique play mechanics, epic boss battles: they’re all here, and better than you remember! It’s a full game, available now on the NA 3DS eShop for only $14.99.

Either way, we here at Inti Creates and our friends and Mighty development partners at Comcept hope you enjoy Mighty Gunvolt! Consider it a small token of our thanks for your continuing support of Mighty No. 9.

MIGHTY GUNVOLT MINI-FAQ
If I don’t have a 3DS, is it possible to get Mighty Gunvolt for some other system?
Sorry, but no. Mighty Gunvolt is only available for the 3DS.

If I live outside North America, is it possible to get a code for my region?
Sorry but we can only offer everyone North American 3DS eShop codes. We realize backers come from all over the world, and we very much value our fans from other countries, but unfortunately region-free codes were not an option, so we picked the region where the majority of our backers hailed from.

(edit) If a mod could change the title to NA versus US, thanks!

...

Where's my code?

Damn, I vaguely remember hearing about this on 84play, but I guess my code got lost in the cracks or whatever.

I backed for $30 and got mine this morning at 2am. I think they are being sent out in order of amount spent, so if you backed for less it may take longer (could be mistaken, order could be completely random).

I backed at 250 dollars, mofos better get me my code posthaste. :p

Try contacting them? They started sending them out a couple days ago so it seems odd that you wouldn't have gotten it yet.

Yup. Got the NA code which will do a whole lot of good in the UK. Thanks guys...

If nothing else I'm sure you could take it to the buy/sell/trade thread and trade it for some eshop credit or something.

What should the title of the email be? I haven't received mine yet, but I have received the beta.

I got mine a few days ago, but I got a JP 3DS, so I guess I'll just give mine away somewhere around here.

EDIT : I gave the code to the first person who asked me by MP, I didn't think about where to give it when I first posted, sorry.

Yup, already redeemed it. Didn't expect a free game at all, was a nice surprise. Will get onto it as soon as I finish Phoenix Wright Vs. Layton.

Too many backlog as it is, haha.

I got it yesterday and played the first three stages with Beck.

feels like nes megaman =)

I kept charging out of habit/memory and releasing only to charge straight into an enemy attack instead of shooting. Very hard habit to break in mega man-style game.

That's fair enough, I don't hold you responsible; I hold Nintendo responsible, with this being a very clear indication of how the European 3DS is an inferior product to the NA one.

Mine got sent to junk mail. Good thing I alway check there just in case.

Fun little game, really felt like I was playing Megaman all those years ago.

Find it harsher for Japanese backers, they are even less likely to be able to give the code to someone who can use them or trade the codes for something else.

Got mine over the weekend. Kinda glad, since the more I hear of Gunvolt the less I want to buy it at full price, and Mighty Gunvolt was the one thing pushing me over the edge.

Fun little game for sure.

I haven't received a code yet either. I guess I should email the team soon? I mean maybe they just all haven't gone out yet? Stuff like this always makes me feel like such a pest.

After seeing this thread I went to check my junk mail inbox and my code was sent on Saturday. I need to fix my spam filter because the same thing happened with my beta code.

It's kinda difficult to point a finger on the Europe issue, since it's not on Comcept's control but then again, the game hasn't been released in Europe yet.

I have my code too, I suppose I'll have to give it away as well...

Does anyone know when/if the code will expire? I won't have a 3ds for a while, and I'd hate to miss out on a free game.

Really cool for backers even if it is completely useless to me. Wish they had done a PC/PSN/XBL version of Gunvolt.

Thanks for posting this, I had missed the announcement and the code went to right to my junk mail so I never saw or went to look for it.

Holy crap! Today's real megaton is that more than two people can have the same first name.
Sucks for Europeans.
At times like this, I'm glad I imported a US 3DS.

I'm in the same boat. About to pounce on a refurbished Yoshi 3DS if it does though. I'll wait for the New 3DS XL to come here if I can though!
