I know i should not be suprised, but damn..i put the trailer on my PS3 and played it on my HD tv...you can clearly see the aliasing in every scene..

But what REALLY shocked me, was that the close up to stella has polygons and aliasing clearly visible all over her arms, and her hair has clear shadow dithering, and her eyebrows too show dithering.

How the fuck did they get that stella render in real time!? And is it going to look like that on PS4??
Maybe it's from the PC version they're developing before they downgrade for the PS4 and Xbone.

I wished they looked less feminine and less like runway fashion models. They absolutely don't look like people that would stage a BBQ in the middle of nowhere.

Damn it Nomura.

This BBQ kit comes with pladded shirt, a beard, 2 swear words, a pig and a knife to carve your own bacon.

I don't think so. Maybe some interviews with Tabata from Japanese magazines. Maybe.

Sounds good :) . Hope it happens. I'd rather hear more story or character backgrounds like they did last time at E3 '13 than see more footage....

Although more footage would be nice lol! Dx

I guess the only HD towns Squeenix can do are sub-HD towns.

Just judging by the trailers I would have to agree. Her work fits better and is more memorable in my opinion.

While other's try to hit you over the head with how loud and epic it can be, Shimomura's work does the opposite, and still ends up feeling epic in a more personal way. If she actually tries to be loud and epic, then forget about it.

Her work always has soul.

God I can't believe I'm making this post, but I thought that trailer was fucking terrible. A bunch of emo dudes riding around in a fucking car is not exactly what I want out of Final Fantasy.

Finally someone said it.

People sure are overreacting to this.

I didn't like FFXV from the beginning due to the character design. It's by far the laziest in any FF to the date. 4 dudes all dressed in black, I've seen them in at least 3 trailers and I still can't say who's everyone. They are so generic.

And the main character, here we go, another emo/tough dude mix. Just like Cloud or Squall, but without their charm, since his design is terrible. Those pants... and the fact he's using a full arsenal instead of some iconic weapon like the Buster Sword or the Gunblade (or whatever it was called in english).

Not to mention the world... One moment you're in a Renacentist Palace, the next you're in what seems to be a modern city, an suddenly you step into some kind of construction site... The setting is really weird with all that mix. Everything looks inconsistent and random. I believe it's the first time that someting like this happens with FF.

But I'm no fool, the gameplay and the visuals are looking better with every new trailer they show. I played XIII, XIII-2 and XIII-3, so I'm totally playing this. But I wish the design wasn't so damn stupid. A little colour in my characters and a consistent world is all I want, Square.

I'll be optimistic with this one and think it'll be a good game until proven otherwise. But really, it's a step back from FFXIII in a lot of things.

The hair looks great at the front, not so much at the back.

The Adamantoise though - the world looks like it's kinda close to 1:1 scale?

Kinda wish we saw the back. I'm sure it's some fantastical up-do.

For the people that keep bringing up inconsistency in the world. Hasn't it already been explained that the world consists of modern cities who have access to crystals or some shit and then there's the more basic civilizations in other places in the world who don't. Pretty sure it's part of the lore. I may have butchered the explanation but I'm pretty sure it's intentional.

Idk if they've actually redesigned Stella. Square has a history of making their characters look very different in prerendered scenes from the game models. Best example is is FFX. Characters look very japanese in the prerendered scenes while the look more noumura-like in game.

it just looks boring. I'm not saying slow combat isn't fun or anything but weren't we promised fast paced KH style combat? you go from expecting Noctis to be flying all over the place wrecking shit and it looks like the opposite of what i;ve been expecting. Not to mention that it just looks wonky.

2011 gameplay had mid battle teleport and lots of dancing, but used an older pre-canned animation system that looked really wonky, with characters sliding around during boss fights with big baddies. Pretty much no interaction between the party members.

2013 was a totally over the top spectacle, yes, but simultaneously really really out of control. It was like watching Final Form Sora all the freaking time. So many attack whiffs, awkward angles when teleporting (giant sword enemy fights), bad animation transitions, etc. Noctis's hit reaction to getting clawed by the behemoth the second time was absolutely shockingly bad. Party member interaction was a nice addition.

This is the most fluid the combat has ever been. Everything looks really tight and responsive, yet still takes the time to carry weight and inertia, while being pleasing to the eye. You also seemingly have more offensive and defensive moves at your disposal. Plus, the party might be low level in this trailer. It may be a little understated right now, but that is not a bad thing.

For people that keep bringing it up, go back and play older Final Fantasy games.

The inconsistencies have long been part of FF world design staple.

If it was a PC version like agni, it would look tons better. I know with agni they were using a 16gb ram with a single 680 and i7..and there was absolutely minimal dithering on Agni's hair and no clear signs of polygons as well as running with 8XMSAA+FXAA

If they were going to show it on a high end PC, it would def not look like that.

I've become convinced this is the PS4 in progress version

Visual Works assets can be dropped straight in to Luminous Engine and run in real time. That's what that is.

am I the only one who was actually discouraged by the trailer?

I know it was a work in progress but it barely looked up to vertical slice standards--it hardly looked like something that could actually be played and looked pretty damn low res to boot

I guess ripped dudes covered in tattoos now are "emo" just because they're dressed in black.

I thought we were over that crap.

Well, the "plan" is at least Japan by the end of 2015. I kind of expected them to announce that today. But maybe they don't want to commit to anything yet... cause, well you know. About Nomura leaving... well, let's just say that history tends to repeat itself more than some realize.
We're looking at Matsuno 2.0, aren't we? ):

Yeah i remember reading something about this. But anyways, this is most likely the ps4 version, you can clearly see that some effects are even sub-hd. As long as they don't downgrade anything this could be one of the best looking games ever. Best lighting and sss implementation i have seen in a videogame so far.

It definitely wasn't 1080p based off the Gamersyde footage, I know that...

Still years left of development at least right?

Is that right!? Looks great! I mean....as great as a CGI model running in something that isn't a render farm can look like i suppose lol
