So, how do you kill that which takes no damage?

Qtpq1hz.jpg

He takes no damage from stealth, ranged, or melee.

I'm thinking the only chance I have is if I ride up on a Caragor or get some wild beast to do my work for me.

This one is going to take a bit of planning on my part :lol

Playing on PC here, I keep getting lag in game anytime something UI related happens. For instance, when it tells me my power increased, the game will lag due to the UI popping up on the screen.

Anyone having similar issues?

This is without a doubt my personal GOTY up to this point. I literally spent 5 hours last night only playing 2 story missions. The rest was running around assassinating targets for shits and giggles.

I binged because my wife is giving birth to our second tomorrow (3 weeks early) and I had to get my fix lol.

My understanding is that once an orc becomes afraid, he loses his immunities.

What about the nemesis system requires next gen hardware?
Probably the massive, massive, MASSIVE amount of data tracking and VO that goes into remembering and speaking to all the different types of interactions you can have with the enemies. The download from steam was like 40gbs lol.

No shit? Well, this just became very interesting. Just call me Freddy, Freddy Krueger.

Maybe I'll still try luring a cave troll or something his way if I can, just to see what happens.

I've decided my least favorite aspect of the game is whatever enables captains or chieftains to flee combat for absolutely no reason. Captains are alright I guess, but chieftains relocate, and force you to go through that whole engage mission again. It's worse when they get you into last stand and say, "well I'm not gonna kill you, and instantly vanish, bye."

But chasing them down before they instantly vanish isn't even fair, especially the ones who can only really be damaged by finishers. They evade all other enemies, so there's nothing to build a combo off of. You're being punished for being good at the game. I don't get it.

You can't die from falling so what do you mean?
For example, I just had all 5 chieftains have some sort of perk or flaw, whatever you want to call it, that made them randomly flee combat, which is annoying because then they relocate, and you have to do their engage mission again.

So I tried to chase him down, and he's running in between buildings and all that, and all my character wants to do is run up them, and hell if you're going to get down a building efficiently, because dropping straight down is difficult as all hell. So the chieftain got away while I'm stuck trying to navigate the path he just took, and it's not even like his escape was realistic. After a short period of time, they just completely vanish. Immersion gone, poof!

Also, try telling that to the cliffsides hanging over water. I've been knocked off one and insta-killed because it wouldn't let me back up.

Maybe use the shadowstep thing? The bow slows down time anyway and it lets you cover long distances in an instant and reengage.

I have the same problem with a bowman who can two shot me--hes killed me twice while i was fighting other captains. Only weakness is burns, immune to everything else, I guess I have to find a camp fire...

Also came across my first Dush (The Funny One)--made me giggle.

if you ride up on a caragor he'll freak you and you can grab him without actually having to hit him.

I haven't read anything about them losing invulnerabilities, but they are able to be grabbed. If he's immune to regular sword strikes and combo finishers, then you can make him afraid, then grab him and just continuously stab him. if not interrogate/kill him

I am enjoying the hell out of this game so far. My brother was watching me play for about an hour and we were just laughing at some of the ridiculous fights I'd get in. We especially dug a part where I let a couple Caragors out of their cages and they proceeded to just destroy their captors.

10 minutes in and the story already surpassed everything I experienced in Destiny. I know that isn't saying much, but it feels good to be playing a game that attempts to tell a story. Speaking of which it seems like standard revenge fare so far, but I'm liking it. Gollum and Ratbag are pretty cool so far, glad they are around.

I put a couple hours into the game with my first sitting and only completed a couple story missions. I'm pretty excited to play again tomorrow. Potential GOTY for me already.

This was my backup plan, good to know it'll work.

This is my plan going in. Thing says nothing about poison and I want to see if it'll work. Maybe there'll be some grog around to poison.

But hes immune to arrows--will fire arrows change that?

He's immune to arrows, but not to the fire. Give it a shot, the craziest things seem to work really well in this game. It really rewards creativity when it comes to killing orcs.

Wait what?! You can poison food?! Maybe I should stop assasinating everyone and play more than 2 story missions

Just started the game. It all seems a bit overwhelming so far. Any tips on what to level up first or maybe just general beginner tips?

Yea, you unlock the ability when
you team up with the other humans hiding out in the area
. It's the quest in the uppermost left hand corner of the map. Just keep playing story missions and you'll unlock it.

Go with that looks cool. There's no best upgrade. When it comes to killing targets be sure to get creative and use their weaknesses against them.

To be fair, I'm sure a lot of that is due to every mission having video files in place of realtime cutscenes.

Anyone around the point in the game where you meet the beast hunter?

My save got corrupted and I lost about 14 hours of progress. :(
Now when I load the game, I am back at the start.

Dropbox me a copy if anyone is that far along.

Heck I'd be happy if you just got to the new green fields area, I'll gladly pick up from that point on.

I just hit that mission. I'll see what I can do.

EDIT: Can't find the save file. Tell me where it is and I'll upload the thing.

Do the herb gathering and hunting challenges as you move through the world doing other stuff. The current things you need to gather/kill are shown on the map screen and the reward for those is a lot of the <M> stuff for HP, ammo, etc. upgrades, which can make things a lot easier. The Execution and Elven Swiftness skills are also really useful in the beginning.

Unlock the ability to pin their foot to the ground with an arrow.
