This show really makes your frustrated at how dumb the characters are. I don't think I've ever felt so frustrated at a show.

The start was a bit weird during the route to school, after that it kept on getting better every minute. Overall I liked it though and will definitely watch this.

Does that mean it gets better or worse? My tolerance level for stupid is at an all time low. I had more fun with Black Rock Shooter than I've had with this.

Yes.

It seesaws back and forth which makes it more entertaining. If your not feeling it by the first half/ 2/3rds of the 1st season I'd bail perma like. It'll only get more painful for you if you aren't invested by then.

The last part of the 1st season though is a trip lol

Yes.

Everything you are disliking about it gets worse. Bail out. There are too many actually good animes for you to waste your time on.

It only took me 22 episode but I finally understand...... this is a comedy. Right? No way a main character is that clueless, right?

Also NeoGermany masked man = best character of the show so far.

You dissing Domon? What's wrong with you?

chaika avenging battle - 01

It's too bad that Chaika didn't have the experience to level up quick-cast. Toru and Akari did a good job handling the adds, although they had to pop all their cooldowns to do so, but Chaika got smashed pretty hard by the boss. With such long cast times, it's a wonder she hasn't been interrupted and locked down so hard before.

Toru was offered a class change afterward by Fredrica, but he's holding onto Saboteur for now. Probably has some high level talents he wants to snag before multiclassing into cavalier.

Not much else of note - Vivi's now an Assassin/Chaika, and she's put some points into longswords to better handle the loot that dropped off Gillette. And Soviet Chaika is coming.

He just has multiclassing anxiety.

I wonder what the stat bonus for the Chaika subclass is.

Hype was not let down! Really strong 1st episode. Aside from some iffy CG (those crowds mm), the animation was really good, and they did a great job of modernizing the setting. Really like the new character designs as well.

I'm ready for more.

Parasyte-

Animation was super fluid, even the regular motions. Kinda surprised. Also looks like they're not trying to go for the conservation of mass.

That dubstep though....

Did Skrillex decide to contribute the soundtrack?

Seems okay so far. With the ecchi and harem tags I expected much, much worse. I guess it comes later on.

Parasyte's music is literally all over the place. We have screamo metal in the OP, classic chippy anime fodder, vocal choir chanting, dubstep, and something akin to Japanese Gospel music in the ED.

That was entertaining. I'm not familiar with the source material so I can't say whether it holds up or not, but am looking forward to more.

So we've gone from G-Gundam lite to full on G-Gundam?

I approve.

Well, now i'm excited to watch this.

Moyashimon 01

Pretty strange.

So, yeah, this Sawaki guy can see cute microbes, and he's starting going to agricultural in... Tokyo? Heh. Well, it's in the outskirts. And there's some rather nasty looking fermented food as well.

Interesting live-action OP, and claymation-looking ED.
Moyashimon is great. Had the kind of setting/age grouped characters that I really enjoy. The ClariS OP for season 2 is nice too.

A year and half after the battle of orb, and a neighboring country is using Orbs leaked information for their own reasons. And of course, someone hijacks their Gundams. Looks like we have a new male lead this time as well which is weird since Cagalli and Athrun are there (although that makes sense she's the leader of Orb).

Parasyte 1

Yeah, this is AOTS right here.

As an adaptation, Madhouse tackled this in a pretty interesting way. The tone feels a bit more subdued based on the somber music at points. It's different, but it works. And of course, there's some liberties taken with the designs and time period, but that shouldn't affect much beyond some nifty additions here and there (Migi on the computer being one instance).

That being said, there are a few minor issues I have. I feel like reordering the sequence of events in the beginning messed with the flow a bit, which was further messed with with the exclusion of certain scenes. In the manga, we see
the alien crawling into the ear of the guy that bit his wife's head off before Migi's proper introduction. By seeing the threat of the invaders, you're not thinking of these things as potential allies, whereas you don't get much context by just seeing a guy's face split apart and eat someone. It's subtle, but it does change one's expectations going forward, even if it's irrelevant in the long, or even short run.
There was also a satisfying bully jobber fight cut out, which would have been nice. Let's not even get started on the exclusion of penis arm (provided it won't show up next episode).

I'm still damn satisfied with this and ecstatic it's finally getting not only an anime after all these years, but a well-produced one from a great team.

Trinity Seven 1 - There is one show I'll definitely watch all of this season, anyway, and this is it! Despite its regular massive mood whiplash, and the inhumanly uncaring characters, I like this series, both the manga and now the anime too. Trinity Seven is a harem action comedy/drama series, with a Kind Pervert protagonist and fairly stereotypical girls. The setting is partially unique and partially standard. On the one hadn, it's set in a school, as is everything ever in anime. However, this is a much darker show than most harem shows, in both the setting and occasionally the plot. It's mostly an upbeat show, though; as you see in episode one, tragedies are mostly just ignored, at least by these characters. It's like... meh, that city got wiped out? Oh well, too bad, who really cares, or something. I know that if the alternatives are this or constant annoying angsty drama this doesn't seem all that bad, but still it's distractingly different from how actual people would be epxected to react.

I mean, yes, I know that the magic schools are sort of "evil", both in the way magic "themas" are chosen, some of the details that the anime leaves out in the Principal's initial description from the manga that should have been in this episode, etc., but still! Most of the time these people act normally... until background characters die, and then suddenly they're about as caring as Sith Academy members or something. It's a little odd. But again... it's probably this or angst. So yeah, not the worst... just really odd.
And yes, again, you do see some of this right from the first episode, though it'll get worse soon.

Beyond that, in this episode the MC starts to get introduced to the various girls. This guy is the "pervert" type of harem anime MC, the type who talks the talk, and might do perverted things sometimes... but as you see in ep. 1 in his meeting with Arin, when faced with a woman who is unashamed and knows that she wants him... he's the one who runs. Naturally. This guy is probably a bit quicker to flee from such things than the MC in High School DxD, but in the mangas at least that is a much fanservicier show, so that makes sense. I mean, Trinity Seven has lots of fanservice, but it's not on the level of High School DxD. There's no detailed nudity, etc.

Of course, the reasoning for a character like Trinity Seven's MC is easy to understand. The basic concept has to be that you want a 'pervy' character, but in this genre actual sexual activity is absolutely forbidden, so he's got to actually be shy inside; he'll talk the talk but not walk the walk, essentially, in order to keep things non-H. It makes for a kind of weird mix, but you see this in all of the characters of this type -- this guy, the HSDxD guy, the MC in the anime version of Majikoi, etc. Considering that the original version of Majikoi is a H-game, that really shows how true this restriction on normal anime/manga versions of the MCs is. I'm fine with it, certainly; this isn't a complaint about these not all being terrible harem hentais, that would be FAR FAR worse than what they are. It's just odd to see this disparity between their words and their actions.

Anyway, so yeah, that's the MC. As for the girls, the one he wants to find is Hijiri. She's mysterious and missing. The others are the girls of Trinity Seven, the top mages of their school. The first episode focuses on three. Lilith is a teacher, though she's no older than the students. She's tsundere around the MC, but supposedly is cold around others, showing how she likes him even if she doesn't admit it (of course). Levy is an awesome ninja. She's the 'ninja companion' character; I'm sure she likes him, but she doesn't let it show too much. She's too cool to just give in to him and change like Lilith has. As for the third, Arin's unashamed around him; we'll learn a little more about her soon. The other four are upcoming. It's a varied set of characters, with different powers and abilities.

Now, as in Vanadis and like very other harem action show, the MC guy is actually super-powerful of course, once he masters his powers, but I like the way this series deals with that better than what I've seen of that one. I can't say much without going into spoilers much farther into the manga, though, so I won't...
but the MC is not the only Demon Lord candidate, and they aren't all male.

But yeah, I like the show overall. Sure, the characters' attitudes towards those lost to the breakdown phenomenons is all messed up, but otherwise this is a fun harem action show with a good cast. It's got the usual harem-anime faults, of course, including mountains of casual sexism, etc., but there are far worse things out there too, and this series is quite entertaining and fun overall. Happily, the anime is quite good so far! It does cut some stuff from the manga that I wish it didn't, mostly additional explanations of stuff, but you expect that in anime, unfortunately, so oh well. It's good anyway.

Here's the manga version of that scene:

So, did they add the 'pantyshot' of those black shorts (or whatever they are), or are they in the manga too? It's kind of hard to tell. And unlike the other girls, I can't think of any time Levy actually had a pantyshot in the manga... she's a ninja and is great at avoiding too much clothing damage... and might be nopan in the manga too, though it's not certain of course given her ninja abilities to avoid stripping magic and such.

... Found the panel I was looking for, finally. Not the one above, a later, clear one. Yeah, Levi is definitely not wearing that in the original manga. :p Check page 13 (or so) of chapter 26. I don't know if I should post it here, so I won't... it's definitely NSFW.
If that's not a nopan shot on the top half of that page... well, it's either that or like the tiniest underwear ever.
I understand why in the anime they'd add underwear, or much more substantial underwear at minimum, to Levi's anime design as they did, it happens often because, well, animated pictures move while comics don't, and TV can have content restrictions and such, so such things are more likely to be an issue, but censorship like that is unfortunate. One example of something sort of like this that I remember from a while back is from the Nagasarete Airantou anime. The carpenter girl in the manga is wearing just underwear and that short kimono shirt, but in the anime they add on shorts in order to cover her up more. But as a Saki fan, of course I'd rather that they'd taken that route, of keeping that stuff in and just toning it down, instead of the route they took. Ah well, it's a minor point, just a little annoying.

I know what you mean....the actual dubstep was not good but there is a nice tune in there at some point. I heard it as well and was fond of it.
