This is why it's nice to have Xelios back - someone who actually plays games.

I play games, but since a lot of them are either older or more obscure and not the ones that are currently popular, there's not really much point in me talking about them. I mean, shit, do you want to hear me talking about how much I've been enjoying Gyromancer? People would just skip over that and go back to discussing Alien: Isolation or Mordor or whatever. So I just don't see a point a lot of the time. *shrug*

Well I turn 24 today.

Yep.

Happy birthday, man. : ) Enjoy it!

I won't finish downloading FFXIII until 11pm tonight. Assuming I keep my PC on all day.

God I'm afraid my PC might overheat or something

I can't remember the last time I voluntarily shut down my PC for an overnight period and in addition to being overclocked it's dusty as all hell. I haven't cleaned it once since I upgraded in May 2012.

There are spiders in your PC, there's a damn nest in there isn't it? I can feel it from here.

I cleaned out my PC dust filter last week. The first time in 6 months and I was disgusted. No bugs or anything. Just a quarter inch worth of dust. I'm a clean freak. I can't stand dust.. I can't imagine going 2 years without cleaning my PC.

And then you wait one to three hours to decode the files

yes. oh god the decoding is damn torture... waiting for that progress bar to increase little by little. i sat for 3 hours straight waiting for watch dogs to decode. i couldn't even play any video games on it either because the decoding caused the FPS in games to drop to single digits every 10 seconds

NEVER AGAIN. i'll just download this when the game officially releases.

I hate dust in general but since it's confined to my tower I don't really make much of an effort to keep it in check since the system itself still runs fine, haha. I keep my general PC area clean and do intend to make more of an effort with my next system.

I'm also considering that. I have 100 mbit, it would take max 2 hours with full speed. Propably less then the decoding

Providing your PC isn't out of The Flintstones it will be fine. I leave my work PC at home on for 2 months at a time. And that's only because I'm lazy/obbsesive about cleaning it.

And then 40 hours to get through the intro sequence.

Teehee.

I call it the tutorial because after that the game stops pestering you with pop ups and let's you monkey around with your party and Paradigms.

I have an Antec Eleven Hundred that I've punched one too many times (the front USB ports are now very finicky, but at least they still work). I'll probably get a Fractal XLR2 when I upgrade some time next year (I'm never buying a mid-tower again -- there's just not enough room to manoeuvre when everything is installed).

Well I turn 24 today.

Yep.

Congratulations on being almost as old as me! ;)

Define R4 is super ultra quiet, I can't hear anything unless I put my ear on the case (not under load of course).
Same case I have and I hear nothing unless the GPU fans spin up. Then again, I've had a computer on in my bedroom since about 1996 so I may be clueless to any noise.

Only issues I have with full towers are the fact that the power cables for the PSU are too short for me to route them the way I want it.

Ah, I didn't think of that, but I'm not particularly fussy about cable management. I'd prefer room to move over overall tidiness (it being almost impossible to plug in a lower SATA cable in a Eleven Hundred is why I've punched my case ;)).

Man I wish I have half of your download speed. 50GB take me a full day. :'|

The only upside is that I get single digit ping whenever I play CSGO on an east coast server.

I bought my first case back when I built my PC. It was a midcase tower, u immediately returned it the next day when I saw this full size tower that was only $20 and it was majestic. Sure I don't have a lot of leg room but it light up in 3 different colors, 2 different fan speed, 2 USB 3.0 + 2 USB 2.0 up front, and I have room to install 4 fans on it.

I love it. I still have room for 3 more hard drive and another GPU.

Time to buy a silent case.

I'm rocking a ghetto no-name case with no fans, no filters and definitely no noise reduction, so maybe, maybe...
Anything good I could get for <$50? ;)

And I don't hear my fans (both CPU and GPU) by daily use, just sporadic HDD spinup.
But at night, with no background noise, running computer stands out terribly. Couple this with my insomnia, and well...

Unless you have a slightly vibrating HDD. Sadly the lower HDD Bay of that case is hardmounted to the rest of the case and not decoupled further which in my case caused the whole front of that case to vibrate as well which then resulted in a low frequent noise. I was able to fix that by mounting my HDD in the 5,25" drive bay which oddly doesn't seem to transfer these small vibrations at all.

Only issue i hat with PSU cables was one cable i think CPU one that is often plugged near CPU socket and i used extension cable that came with my PC Case. Other PSU cables are lengthy enough for nice cable management. :D

Also i clean my PC Case few times a year and i clean dust filters once a month. But those filters are letting too much dust inside case and i need to make them better XD

I'm still waiting on my ISP to fix my POP issue.

Code:
Pinging ftp.iinet.net.au [203.0.178.32] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 203.0.178.32: bytes=32 time=72ms TTL=242
Reply from 203.0.178.32: bytes=32 time=72ms TTL=242
Reply from 203.0.178.32: bytes=32 time=72ms TTL=242
Reply from 203.0.178.32: bytes=32 time=72ms TTL=242

Ping statistics for 203.0.178.32:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 72ms, Maximum = 72ms, Average = 72ms

That should read ~18ms, not 72ms -- the server is literally an hour's drive away. 72ms to the other side of the country is itself good, though.

Language packs should be made modular, as free DLC downloads or something. So that a steam user can select the languages required while downloading and have an option to set default language download for the steam profile too.

VO audio files usually take up a chunk of the game size overall, since past few years.

EzioCroft aka Mayhem is having a similar issue I think. He's from Germany, his connection has to be routed to the US whenever he play online using Comcast. But for some reason whenever it get to this side, there is a big delay so his ping whenever he's playing on an East Coast server is 180, instead of the normal 80-100.

Also this is my PC case.

I got it for $95 when it was on sale at Microcenter.

I wouldn't be so hasty. The Rosewill MX2-B maybe the only case more beautiful than the Silverstone FT02.

The Corsair Graphite Series 600T is the best PC case in the history of anything and everything.

Get one and experience euphoria, no fedora required.

If your hard drives vibrate, then either your drive case screws are on too loosely or shoddy workmanship in the drive cage itself causing it. If it is the latter, I got a good lifehack that I use for my office PC's... Get one of those thick pencil erasers and a knife and wedge thin strips between the case joints that cause the vibration.

But it has a window. Why would you want that? To be able to confirm that no component was stolen overnight or what?

Aye, and the only fix so far is to reroute my entire connection through a VPN server. Which in itself is hilarious, this is the first time I've seen a VPN actually improve latency instead of ruin it lol (Well, it's not really a VPN but it kinda is.)

Edit: Woke up to seeing the language stuff on the FFXIII storepage being changed to "Audio: English, Japanese". Made my day, so happy.

I am really satisfied with my CoolerMaster Storm Trooper case. It is big with enough space, HDD sections are modular, dedicated space for SSD, case is made with liquid cooling in mind, dust filters and it looks really nice :D
