Driveclub PS Plus Edition Delayed by Server Issues

Evo's server issues are totally inexcusable and whatever heat Evo gets for it is warranted. Mind you I have seen in the OT that lots of people are doing MP races fine now and having little trouble in online races - BUT that some features are grayed out.

I am too busy with Shadow of Mordor currently but I will definitely try the PS+ ver. for my driving fix. I'll bite on a physical copy if the game sells me on it. I have read good impressions in the OT with very few caveats.

I'm almost tempted to buy this game just for the free shit Sony's likely to give away to make up for the server outage once they get back online. :p

Four days later and I still can't go online. I bought the game online and I am thinking of giving Sony a call and asking them for a refund. Did anyone succeed in doing so?

I called in two days ago and got a refund after about 5 minutes on the phone, but a friend on another forum said he was unable to get a refund. So I guess its YMMV?

I can still play the game too, the rep did say it'll take 3-5 days. Hope he wasn't bullshitting me and the refund comes through. Have not been able to connect at all, no matter what time of day I try. Well today the multiplayer button did show some stuff but trying any of it led to server error messages.

Game is ok but unless you are a super driving nut and only own a ps4 and not an xbone I'd say wait until they fix their servers and try out the PS+ version first.

So I was about to buy the game instead of waiting for the PS+ Release... it looks like the digital download isn't avaible as well. I thought only the PS+ Release is being held back at the moment...

So apparently they just do not add any new servers but just try to optimize the ones they have ??

Well this will work up to a certain point but then its over.

And when the PS+ version finally does arrive it will be even worse than now.

Why ... just why ???

Adding more servers to improve performance doesn't necessarily work. Problems come in all different shapes and sizes.

I've been thinking for the past few days, somethings not right. We're talking about bandwidth here, simple as throwing money and a few hours (maybe) at it. Are they over budget and out of money? (probably) but, come on Sony wtf is going on.

I can see why it appears they might be scratching their heads. Something is not right. Why wasnt it picked up in Beta, extrapolated out to estimate loads.

All i can see is that during the whole Beta, yep i was in and the reason why i pre ordered the full game not waiting for the PS Plus edition.

Cupcake, played beautiful. Game was so slick swapping between the social menus, choosing a MP game was just normal wait time. No lag on racing, creating clubs etc. It really is unfortunate that something like this has happened.

yup. It must certainly be annoying if you are on the sideline waiting to try the + addition... Though as a launch day purchaser, I've had a blast since Tuesday. Every point to point track (and its reverse) is amazing.

And, now that online is finally starting to kick in, there will be a lot more depth to the game. Trying to top the leaderboard is going to be addicting.

You are wrong. Sony provides the hardware. Evo does the server code. The issue is the server code, not the hardware.

I think this is not a server issue...They are just trying to make as much as money, because they dont trust their game's quality...As we see, some ppl who doesnt want to wait are buying it paying 50 bucks already...

I've been reading this thread all week...chill. Do somethin else or play a different game til the PS+ version gets released. Such a joke. People act like studios have never had server issues before. Goodness me.

I don't put up with buggy, broken messes that get released and never patched. If it's a rare bug with a quick patch, whatever.

Server issues... I give a little more leeway for, because it's so hard to test for. Nothing like suddenly having millions of people using the software, possibly doing things QA never thought of, to push servers to the limit. And as soon as there's any sort of issue, you suddenly have thousands of people spamming 'Try to connect again', compounding the issue.

Yes, the servers are total crap but the way people are whining here and declaring the game terrible makes me hope the PS+ edition gets released after Christmas.

Nope, $50 for the upgrade. $60 retail or non upgrade

I really want to try online racing before recommending anyone purchase it. I'm pretty satisfied with the full game so far though.

lol, yea happens every time.
First sign of trouble, people are more than ready to start a Jazz Funeral parade for a game.
I don't even think Sony/Evo gave a concrete release date for the PS+ ver, afaik.
Entitled people who play video games. Not to be confused with mature gamers.
