GTA: San Andreas confirmed for Xbox 360

They pulled SA from the PSN store, too, so unless they just don't wish to make any money from it it's a safe bet that it's coming there, too.

These are all probably based on the mobile version, BTW. That version added controller support and widescreen support but also removed some of the music tracks. This version is already out on the Windows 8 Store and will be making an appearance on steam soon, too.

here are the changes they made for the mobile version:

Re-mastered, high-resolution graphics including lighting enhancements, an enriched color palette and improved character models
Dynamic detailed shadows and real-time environmental reflections (iPhone 5 series/iPad 4th Gen and above)
Physical controller support for all Made-for-iOS controllers
Cloud save support for playing across all your iOS devices for Rockstar Social Club Members
Updated checkpoint system
Dual analog stick controls for full camera and movement control
Three different control schemes and customizable controls

Would be amazing if they put in the Cops and Robbers server from SAMP. I know it'll be nearly impossible on the console, but cool as shit nonetheless.

Not sure why they would do this in 2014... Only way I would see it would be worth it is if it was on next gen consoles with an added multiplayer component, but even SA-MP has that covered on PC.

I seriously doubt this is 360 only. They probably only confirmed 360 so far because that's the one that leaked. I'm expecting an announcement for other platforms soon. Please be PS4. And Vita preferably but I don't expect that.

No PS3 version, No Buy

I can't help but be disappointed

That did not make sense.

They could've thrown in Tommy Vercetti in there as well. It must be the rights to Michael Jackson that's hold it back lol.

They've lost a few Vice City songs over the years. Hell, the only version with the complete soundtrack is the original PS2 release.

edit: was hoping for PS4, but I'll happily take it for 360.

Seems like a missed opportunity for a PS4/X1 version that could have been bundled in with GTAV. I'm not really buying games for my 360 anymore.

Microsoft turns up with truck loads of money at Rockstar.

"Can we have GTAV Xbox One timed exclusive?"

Rockstar "No"

Microsoft "Since we are here, what else you got?"

Rockstar "Hmmm, San Andreas...H..D"

Microsoft "We'll take it, here is some money, think of us next time GTA6 /wink wink"

Rockstar "Suuuure!"

Door closes.

Rockstar "LOL"

I remember reading, a few months ago, how ps4 users would have a surprise when playing GTA V. People speculated it was some sort of exclusive dlc (or timed, most surely). And now this comes out of the blue. Why only 360? That's a game I would gladly pay for to play on the ps3, since my ps2 is out of comission and it's been a while since I played it.
.

Oh, God, please don't hype me up like this. Because it's most likely not going to be this, lol.

I think it's the best GTA game and it's very unfortunate it didn't get the same love as San Andreas.

Back to topic, if it's higher than 15 dollars I won't be buying it. I bet it will be 20 or 25 though.

WTF?

At first I thought that this was an old hread that got bumped, but no... everyone's posts are from today.

What a weird thing to be exclusive to just one last gen console.

360 only is so weird.

If it doesn't end up releasing on PC, I'll probably check this version out at some point, though. San Andreas is too good.

How random.

Aside from the apparant exclusivity, this is like 3 years too late. Who the fuck cares at this point, really?

You can already play San Andreas on PC in 720p or higher. Not sure what the benefit would be unless they add the smoother models from the mobile re release. Even then they would probably break compatibility with the thousands of mods available for the current PC version.

SA is my fav GTA game, but it hasn't aged particularly well, so before I get annoyed, I'd better just wait and see what this remaster-of-sorts looks like. lol. Though if it's even just half-decent, I'd still rather be playing it on current gen.

If you bought the Xbox Original version of it off the marketplace, do you get the version with achievements for free? I'm also somewhat upset about there being no Xbox One version

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
Oh dear, if MS has got this Sony must have something too....probably GTAV DLC time exclusives or full.
it is an odd choice, both game and platform.

I thought this was going to be a 7 year old thread that just randomly got bumped.

San Andreas made me hate open world games. It was like a virtual job.

What time is it?

Nope but you'll still have access to that version.

Playing the original version on PS3/360 is rough. The game needs anti-aliasing. Hopefully this new version improves on that.
