Capcom release console ports to PC all the time. Crytek games are ported across platforms. Those games were a no-brainer. Insomniac never ported their games to PC.
I am not saying it's a fact I am saying that's what the woman who works at MS in the MS press booth told me.
PR reps can be quite stupid, don't worry about it, some people here are just giving you a hard time. Can you reconfirm with the rep one more time?

I don't think Insomniac's release history offers much in the way of insight as literally the only other console games it's made that weren't published by Sony are 1996's Disruptor and last year's Fuse.

It's possible to hide any information on your game in the Steam Database (by naming the app "App X" etc.), so that's not an indication of anything actually.
I'm calling it - Microsoft pays Insomniac to keep quiet about a PC-version of a game they are publishing.

Woah man, let's take a breath here. It's not that unbelievable that some PR booth person doesn't know anything and would just spout some nonsense. We shouldn't take his post as confirmation but it is interesting, just don't take it as an official MS statement.

Again, Sunset Overdrive on PC is as unlikely as me buying it.

What's really weird is that you guys are desperate enough to believe some random PR person saying Sunset Overdrive will be available on Day 1 for PC.

Fair point but there isn't a time frame given for when the talks failed and the other timed exclusives also had similar time frames in terms of announcement of PC version or other platforms( PVZ:GW, Ryse, DR3, Peggle 2). There's the thing to me that points it as something that was made as part of the deal in the beginning rather than only after the ownership talks they decided to release it.

I still think the game looks boring, and wouldn't buy it without a steep discount. I'd actually try it if it got a PC release, though. Eventually.
Nobody here believes the game is soft-launching on the PC day-and-date with the X1 version. Even the person who posted the info is dubious.

There is some form of evidence in the OP, whether it is correct or incorrect is at question. I have already aired my opinion of "day 1" being highly unlikely.

Those examples are all publisher deals, with EA and Capcom respectively. All of those games were pretty much destined to come to other platforms, and from the outset looked like timed-exclusive deals.
Ryse is the expectation because it was a directly published game by Microsoft Studios. I doubt it would have come to PC if they greenlit the sequel and the relationship between them and Crytek was peachy. Im speculating of course, but feels more like they tried to maximize on a failed deal.

Well Halo hasn't been on PC since Halo 1 & 2 so I doubt that the MCC will be especially since it's one of XB1's big holiday titles.
I think I heard Quantum Break and Sunset Overdrive have been completely funded by MS, so I would be surprised to see either on PC.
Scalebound won't come to PC as it's not really suited to PC and I doubt Platinum games would even consider a PC version.

OK, I am back and looks like you are right thuway. This time I went directly to the person responsible for marketing in italy. I told her what the other woman told me and I was told that the previous info is false and to show her who was it that told me that. I point out the woman and she calls her over and asks her if she had told me all this stuff and she nods yes.
The marketing woman apologized and said that the information was not correct nor official. There is the possibility in the future as it has happened with Ryse and DR3 but have nothing to announce at this time.
What a completely unexpected outcome. I'm truly shocked.

That kind of error is pretty normal. I'm not saying that this game will not show up on PC later, because I believe it can, just like most of XB1 games, specially in this case that is not even MS IP. It just dont make sense for them to announce it exclusively for XB1 and then annouce the PC version just like that, and makes even less sense to believe it will be coming day one on PC, I dont believe it.
But indeed, I believe it has quite a possibility to show up a couple months later a PC version announcement.
