I can't count how many times I've heard this sentiment only to have the PS4 outsell it. I honestly think the XB1 will never top the PS4 in the NPD again, or at least for a very long time.

I think it is more that Skylanders is too clunky a set-up to really fit with mobile and handhelds.
After the first day, really. I'm not sure if I remember correctly but I read/saw a graph for a game some time ago that said it made >80% of its overall sales on the first day.

I need to see the numbers for Evil Within before I can say how happy I am to see it at #3.
Again, it placed 5th in September when it launched on the 30th. So it's 9th here with launch day taken out. Makes its list placement hard to judge, I think.

Consider that unlike many gens of the past, this is generally around the time lower income consumers would hop in on consoles. Both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 are WAY more expensive at this current stage than previous console gens and that's why they don't have the legs like the older consoles.

It's probably at least 300K given the 360 version of Dead Space 1 debuted with 193K units.
PS3 sales were pretty terrible around that time though.

Edit: I see now. Guess because it came out here in the UK in October I forgot about that.
If I were to guess, I'd imagine Sunset Overdrive did about 200-300k standalone.I don't know guys, Sunset at 9th in the individual SKU chart, with bundles not being counted, doesn't sound that bad to me, honestly. Of course, we need numbers though.

It would make the most sense. I think there were/are a ton of people waiting to try the PS Plus Edition first instead of buying the game outright.

Drive Club released on Oct 7 and didn't chart but it's probably do to poor marketing - I didn't see any commercials for this game and I watch a lot of TV...

Well at least it's a game that apparently deserved it. I don't think anyone really expected it to do well but below Bayonetta 2 is.....bad. Especially since it was out for most of the month.
No, the online has had issues because the netcode sucks. Server connectivity is poorer than expected for a given amount of sales.
And no others?
Thing is, it's not really a big game...racing + 45 person team and all.

Surprising. I expected DC to sell extremely well. Guess middling reviews and the online issues dealt it a fatal blow.
And racing isn't exactly a guns blazing genre either, so a game with a free version, new IP, ho-hum reviews, is notably broken, and is releasing in a crowded window probably isn't going to do so hot.
