...who found fishing in OOT to be relaxing? That's like the most stressful thing to do in that game.
archery minigame made me rage
fishing built up my patience
maybe just me though

I think MM lost a lot of people with the first 72-hour cycle. You're a (literal) scrub, can't slow down time, can't use your usual abilities, and the chain of events you must follow is rather strange:They could probably have a few more NPC hints making what to do a bit more clear.Find Great Fairy in North Clock Town --> Retrieve the Stray Fairy at the Laundry Pool or in East Clock Town --> Get magic power, shoot down balloon --> Play hide and seek with the Bombers --> Use password to enter sewers --> Look through telescope at Astral Observatory and retrieve the Moon's Tear --> Trade the tear to the Business Scrub for the Land Title Deed to reach the top of the Clock Tower on the Final Night --> Spit bubble at Skull Kid to get back your Ocarina and return to the Dawn of the First Day.
I'll admit that 'lil 10 year old Xtortionist miserably failed the first cycle after buying the game and hated the goddamn thing. Felt like I wasted so much time and wasn't really sure where I went wrong. I love the game now, but the first impression was awful.
Fishing by the full moon? Link is a romantic soul.
LE N3DS incoming. Can't wait! Got my wallet ready for that shit.
I probably would've struggled myself if it weren't for the fact I had read the Nintendo Power preview front to back multiple times. It taught me where to go, what to do, etc. But under normal circumstances, going in blind, I could definitely see the first 72-hour cycle giving people trouble. It's not very intuitive, and there's a lot of pressure since you can't slow time at that point in the game.I'll admit that 'lil 10 year old Xtortionist miserably failed the first cycle after buying the game and hated the goddamn thing. The fishing sequence present in Ocarina of Time will be enhanced. Miyamoto comments, "Rather than taking the fishing part of the last game to extremes, we want to do something new with it. Like 'Jabu Jabu' fishing." As you may remember, Jabu Jabu -- a gigantic fish -- was the deity to the Zora in Ocarina of Time. Link journeyed into the belly of Jabu Jabu to save princess Ruto's life.
Miyamoto, unwilling to reveal all the details surrounding the enhanced fishing mini-game, did offer Famitsu this: "If you catch the 'Jabu Jabu,' it may cause things like stopping the fall of the moon."
The fishing mini-game will offer a means of earning Rupies in Zelda Gaiden.

Why though? It was revealed in a worldwide direct. New 3DS hasn't "officially" been revealed outside of Japan and Australia. For all intents and purposes it does not exist here in NA. To reveal MM3D for something that isnt officially recognized in this part of the world doesnt make sense now does it?
People expecting 60fps for the n3DS are setting themselves up for disappointment. It's not that much of upgrade over the 3DS.
I'm sure they had both on the table because they can just pump one out like nothing.
60fps option is on the NOA YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hj6cXziHpjQ
Aren't all recent Youtube videos given the ability to play at 60 FPS so long as a 720 or 1080 option is available?
I wonder which boss they changed? Maybe Twinrova? Majora was decently hard without Fierce Deity, maybe that one? Otherwise they were all fairly easy.
Considering Smash looks as great as it does and is 60, and that OoT was made much earlier in 3DS's life-cycle it wouldn't surprise me if the game runs 60fps (It doesn't look like stable 60fps) on the original 3DS too, also when you consider Grezzo have had more time to fine-tune the engine on 3DS.
You might Gyorg underwater, right? So that could be hard for people. I don't remember that fight too well, though.
Same, I had to drag myself through the Great Bay Temple. The thing stopping me from loving MM is the dungeons, though I doubt they'll do much to change those.
That interview someone posted earlier, with Shiggy talking about fishing for a Jabu Jabu-sized fish in Zelda Gaiden, has me intrigued. It would be amazing if they incorporated that into the Gyorg boss battle.Gyorg is hard for all the wrong reasons. If the camera was better that fight would be a cake walk. I do think he was the one changed though, why add fishing if you can't fish out the fish boss.
No, camera controls it is.Guessing that playing on New 3DS gets you a higher framerate. The trailer had a 60fps option...
I'd take a dungeon instead, honestly...
Already deconfirmed.
Oh snap, does anyone think they'll add in the selfies from WWHD? Loved that feature.
This is a no brainer. In fact given the precedence this game plays to it's characters and interactions we can say that it makes more sense to have the pictobox functionality in Majora than in Wind Waker.Oh god the Pictobox! I totally forgot that it existed in this game, now I hope they do this and integrate it to miiverse like wind waker.
This game will cement the 3DS as the greatest handheld of all time. I mean it's library is ridiculously good.

I'm also skeptical the game will be 60 fps. Someone noted this might require them to extensively rework the animations. While I'm not sure that's true, I do know that the video being 60 fps doesn't necessarily mean the game is, too.I'd buy a New 3DS if it meant 60 fps. I really doubt that'll happen, though.

Ooh, good point. I bet that's it, and maybe it'll help you to fight him on land? I wonder if Zelda continuity-heads will be bothered by such an extreme change, though!

On the other hand... According to Iwata Asks, Nintendo made ALBW run at 60 fps because it stabilized the 3D effect. So perhaps in a post-ALBW world, Nintendo wants to make its 3DS Zeldas run at 60 fps, believing it's best for 3D.
Then again, MM3D's development may have preceded ALBW, being three years now. So who knows.
They probably would be but then again they'd probably be bothered by any change.
With a sword stand (piss-yellow sword stand).Fierce Deity Amiibo?
Fierce Deity Amiibo.
The n3DS add 2 extra cores for the CPU and about 32mb of ram. If MM3D runs at 60fps that would imply that the game was bottlenecked by the CPU right? I dont think that would be the case with a game like MM. I'm just talking outta my ass here of course so im probs wrong lol.
The demands in terms of hardware for ALBW and Majora's are completely different. Citing the Aonuma comment regarding how 60 fps stabilized the 3D effect doesn't mean much because it seems the 3DS is not capable enough to run a game with the requiments of Majora at 60 fps.I'm also skeptical the game will be 60 fps. I want to say I read that they don't plan for non-2D Zeldas to run at 60 fps. But, I see what you mean about the 3D, that is a good point. Is 3DL 60 fps? I want to say it felt like 30 to me.
SM3DL was 30fps, yes.

Here is a fuller exposition of the Famitsu interview:

Grezzo is indeed undertaking the remake, Anouma originally did not want to work on the remake, replaying the original to see what he would like to change.
Aonuma said:Youll get to fish! Although it makes you wonder whether youll have that free time to fish in the world of Majoras Mask. So weve added fishing ponds. Two of them, too. There might be something monstrous you could fish out, so please look forward to it.
