Next week? Jesus christ. Phil needs to set up shop in 343 and fire someone every day this shit doesn't work. What else are they doing? Halo 5? Your franchise is kind of falling to pieces, focus on the bigger issue.

It's amazing how much easier Halo 3 is on Legendary in comparison to Halo 2. I felt like I was playing on Normal. :lol

Yeah - Halo 2 is the only game that I didn't just play through solo legendary on launch. Tried to but it wore me out and I think I only eventually did legendary in co-op.

The other games on legendary are manageable - Halo 2 is a bitch.

Thought the "big patch" was coming this Wednesday. Anyone?

Wednesday is the MM patch, not next week.

Whoops. For some reason I thought it was still Saturday. My mind calendar has been so screwed.

Anyway as Monkey and Willow clarified, a big matchmaking update is coming this Wednesday. Sorry for the confusion.

Here's a link to 343's bulletin on it

I would really love to see some patch notes so I could know if it's safe to put some real effort into campaign mode. I would be surprised if they didn't give details on the patch though, given all the communication so far.

I went through Halo 4's campaign last night. Only took a few hours actually. Ended up having a bit of fun with it. So much that I could nitpick at though.

I wonder if I could do the same in Halo CE tonight. It's the last campaign I need to do on heroic. Hmm...

So is the MCC working now? I searched for a match last night but didn't find anyone in several 3 minute attempts, so I just went back to the salt mines of Destiny.

When do we start getting refunds or Microsoft Buck$? Can't even play half the content of this game.

Seemed to be better last night than at any other part this weekend IMO. I got into a game in ~5 minutes, and once in the lobby I played four or five games in a row no problem. Backed out, was doing some other stuff for about ten minutes and went to search again and found a match within a minute.

Just met someone who really misses the Halo 4 playlist and said its the only Halo he's good at. He said he bought the map guide and everything.

Have mercy on his soul.

My biggest problem with the ADS addition right now is the laser sight on the BR. It just looks claustrophobic and distracting with the muzzle flash to me. With the old scope, the line of sight was clearer, so better in both gameplay and awareness. If they add ADS to things like the AR that you don't already scope with, that's fine as I don't need to use it, but to change existing weapons and make the line of sight worse isn't good. There needs to be a better compromise here if they insist on this.

That might actually be doable. If we could get traditional scopes back on the BR and DMR, I'd be happy with that, even if heavy and automatic weapons kept using the Smart Scope.

CEA really is an ugly middle ground, huh. On the second mission and it looks... messy. Art style keeps it from being terrible of course. But I'll probably be more inclined to use classic graphics at this point

Ok, finished the "first playable" build of my first H2A forge map.

Mainly remade to whet my forge appetite. Hopefully get some games on it!

It's called "Corpus Delicti", a remake/successor to a map I built in Reach called "Habeas Corpus"

Here are some screenshots:

^ New territories UI.

It's in my fileshare (Der Flatulator6) if you'd like to take a look. All H2A gametypes should be supported, including Ricochet!

Has anyone forged the Halo 3 MLG maps yet? I'm sick of playing customs on these really bad Bungie day one variants.

Also are we ever getting Pit Stop/Boundless/Epilogue/SandTARP?

I'm putting it at 85% likely match making will be ironed out by the patch. Hell, last night I was getting < 90 second wait times between matches in Team Slayer. Shit seems like its getting better.

They're probably rolling out minor servers fixes all the time. I've noticed it getting consistently better.

Yeah I imagine that's the case. Big Team Battle is always where I get the longest waits and even those times are coming down. Hell, even with the current bugs in place one of my friends almost went and bought an Xbone yesterday because he loved MCC enough.

We both immediately agreed that the Banshee needs to get removed from Ascension/Zenith (again) and that BRs on Warlord is awful.

I tried to play yesterday and only got in one match which ended before it started. I was having more luck on launch day. Hopefully the patch helps a lot. It's crazy that the game has been completely broken for a week, not to mention all the bugs with parties and stuff.

I just want to play some Halo. :(

It's amazing to me how much the instant graphics switch adds to the enjoyment of the old and new graphics. That fade robs you of getting the immediacy of the differences.

I think like a lot of people I focused on the bad parts of the refreshed visuals—the occasionally too-busy environments and bright, less-foggy interiors detracting from the atmosphere—but going back I've found myself focusing on what they did well in updating. And there's no doubt the Library is far less tedious and confusing with the Anniversary treatment (how did Bungie realize that arrows were going to be useful in AOTCR but didn't add them in the Library?)

I've been inconsistent. Since launch I've been able to get into games alone. There was even a day when I was getting in very consistent with me and 3 friends. We kept being split up on teams but at least we were in games.

But yesterday I could not get into a game, was kinda frustrating.

I think it will definitely improve but I'm not sure about the scope of improvement.

Let's just keep the scope defined to parties and matchmaking, as I feel thats priority 1 right now.

What needs fixing for Matchmaking.
-First and foremost, matchmaking times. Get us into the damn game.
-Uneven teams: Why is MM always starting off with uneven teams
-Parties not being on the same team
-More dedicated server support
-Host booting ability
-Standby ability (this and hostbooting should be fixed if the game would give you a good dedi)
-General better connections.
-If you're fone fixing all these bugs and technical issues how about some better playlist management. Dunno who's in charge but just give the damn keys to Tashi and let him fix it.

What Needs Fixing for Parties
-Active Roster needs to update, not cause game to crash when looking at session details, needs to actually have everyone show up on it.
-Sometimes roster won't let you invite or join people
-Parties crashing, people dropping out etc.
-Parties staying together when moving between the different lobbies.

All this stuff should be fixed first and then all hands on deck fixing the mission options in customs/forge, Achievements, campaign save etc/

I think that 90% of the time, CEA looks great. That 10% can be annoying, but there are so many good parts I don't care.

The silent cartographer for example. So beautiful.

Don't hold your breath. They don't even seem to realize all the Halo 3 maps are disc based launch day editions instead of updated matchmaking settings. Can't imagine they'll figure out we're missing maps as well.

I didn't think anything looked necessarily "bad" about CEA's graphics, I just thought they looked off from what the original style was for CE. I honestly think the interior of Truth and Reconciliation looks fantastic outside of the hangar bay. Halo & Silent Cartographer look good but I almost think they add too many Earth like features to everything and it throws off some of the alien world look to it.

The areas where I think CEA really hurts things are basically any time there are supposed to be night time sequences. The first half of Truth and Reconciliation is too bright for what is supposed to be a straight up night time mission. The CEA art style for 343 Guilty Spark completely ruins the mood and atmosphere of that level. Two Betrayals looks like a fucking day time segment in CEA.

Subjectively I think H2A is a much better Anniversary treatment so far.

Gameplay wise, are the regular and suppressed SMGs in H2A actually any different?

I've only used suppressed once and didn't notice anything in particular.
Noticed the Brute plasma rifle's on bloodline though, which is cool.

uhmmmm yes? Might want to slow down the speed a bit too.

Also 1 life per round. So like a CS kind of thing going on.

.....Can we do this tonight?

triple-h-nod.gif

I think if we reduce movement speed a tad then we might want to remove the pistol as a secondary weapon though.

I should forge up a remake of Turf to play this on. Feels like it would work best in an urban setup.

My suggested ODST game type

-Silenced SMG starts
-Pistol as secondary weapon
-No shields
-90% movement speed
-Force armor colors if possible (steel vs silver?)
-No motion tracker
-Headshot immunity for all players

What about teams though?

Steel vs. Silver? lol

We'll think of something.

Can we force players to be elites too? Because it would be cool to have a variant of one team ODST and the other human.

Also random, but does anyone know what the elites look like in infection in H2A?

-90% movement speed (if that's possible)
-Force armor color to be black/steel

Slower targets w/ no shields plus a pistol might break the game a bit. Also, what about motion tracker?

No motion tracker, period.

How about trying maybe pistols on but headshots disabled? That's still a thing right?
