Full match of Halo 5 mp

The beta better not have these matchmaking issues. We have a limited time so I don't want it to take me 10 minutes to find a game.

I'm actually getting excited for this though. I was pretty down on it when i first saw it but it's growing on me. I just hope the final build gets the balancing a lot better. I'm looking at you, smg.

Hype for the beta's making me want to grab an Xbox One & MCC now.

Wish there was a bundle with 'em like the others MS has available this holiday season. Getting an Xbox One without Kinect and the MCC separately would actually be more expensive... And none of the bundles currently available really suit my tastes, for one reason or another. :/

I'd have to pay cash with Walmart anyways, which I really can't(rather, shouldn't) do right now. I hope something comes up with Amazon or Best Buy later on.

Looks good. He's got an interesting point about the Prophet's Bane increasing your visibility. SMG definitely looks OP, seems to have the same effective range as the AR (if not longer). Thruster pack distance should probably be reduced as well.

All told... looks like Halo.

Im not seeing any map control. Just players sprinting into a gun battle die repeat. Witch was the single biggest problem with Halo 4. In other words reduce sprint speed or remove it and Halo will be great.

You're not seeing map control because there's only one power weapon on this map. This is kind of how midship always played in a straight TDM match.

Make sure to watch it in 60fps :) Looks really awesome and the video shows (once more) that smart scope is just exactly what zoom ever was in Halo.

ughhh I can't wait till the 29th! Looks like what I wanted Halo 4 to be. A bit faster, a few gameplay tweaks that still fit within the mold of what Halo is supposed to be, and GLORIOUS 60FPS.

I think a better way to balance sprint in H5 would be to slowly drain your shield for sprinting. Once the shield is fully drained you can't sprint. This would keep people from being able to sprint away when one shot. Basically your shield meter would double as your sprint meter.

Hate this idea. If you sprint away when you're one shot away from death, you won't get far because your shield doesn't recover as is. That's a perfectly fine solution.

I think that is a good alternative when the recovery timeout is not enough.
But then again im not sure if they will remove sprint given how the maps are probably already designed to accommodate for sprint.

Increase all base movement speed
Or
Do like a momentum mechanic, speed gradually increases a certain percentage ,when not in combat
Then normal when in combat
 
Could work, i do kinda hope they will actually have a second beta/demo for final gameplay adjustments.

If they're smart they will. They really should have an open beta prior to release. It'll a be a good stress test and will work to get some early console sales and sell people who aren't sure about the game.

Yeah, I can see the benefits of Spartan chatter, but I do hope it's made optional.

Same with the announcement of power weapon spawns.
 
Yes, please have an option in the menu to lower spartan chatter or just character voices to zero. It doesn't seem too bad but they should cut the unnecessary lines like "thanks for the help"

I wish that in addition to chatter, killcams could also be made optional. That way teabagging could make a comeback. In Halo 4 it didn't exist - even the glorious body physics were removed.

I agree, killcams just tend to irritate me as I always spout expletives when I notice what happened there did not happen on my screen. Plus, they give away locations and such.

100% agree. Take away the kill cam. Force the opponent to watch me hump them or shake my head over them.

Also bring back pregame chat so you can make fun of the other team before the game. It was always funny when teams would smack talk only to lose and then the post game lobby became a wreck of people yelling afterwards.

I also really like proximity chat but I don't really care if that is there or not.

They can bring back the chat stuff but no one will use it because the OS level party system has ruined in game chat forever. Also, that OS level party chat usually sounds significantly better than game based chat.
 
One thing they keep mentioning is how much less aim assist there is in this Beta. I really hope they keep it that way, but something tells me they're going to ramp it up. I feel like developers do this a lot for whatever reason.
 
Love the weapon models except the Prophets Bane. I'm hoping that's map specific like some have said. Also, I really want to see the covenant and whatever other factions weapons they have in store for us. I'm not nearly as worried as I was originally. The more I see it the more I like it. The mobility options seem like more of an addition to the formula rather than breaking the formula. Very excited.

I think the lack of map control is because like other said

-midship being midship
-lack of power weapons
-no br start

But I think their map design really ruins a lot of the flow. I've watched the video a chunk of times and although I think a lot of it has to do with the player, the map just feels really claustrophobic. A lot of the walls cover sightlines, they have those shield covering the top, the map being stretched for sprint makes it harder to find and kill people on the other side.

I think the base mechanics of the game might be okay but the map design is what hurts them. They seem to lack those dominant map positions that traditional maps had. Like the sniper towers on lockout, the pit, and guardian. There is usually a central spot you want to control that you use in combination with power weapons but this and the other two maps don't seem to have that. It seems like their map design gives too much cover and escape routes instead of having areas where you can really punish people for going.

But maybe that's just something that will come when people learn the maps more.

Glad to hear the comments people are making about ADS or smart scope not being such a big deal. Try convincing some of the kids or grizzled grumps on this forum that though.
 
To be honest I rather like the Prophet's Bane design. It seems like a more heavy and deadlier energy sword, which was swift and elegant. Makes me wonder what enemy specifically will be using the weapon in the campaign. I am betting the Storm that covenant splinter group will be using it.
 
I think it looks great. It's about time the Chief learnt how to move like an actual super soldier from the future instead of a decrepit old man riddled with arthritis.

What matters most is the game is skill based with equal starts etc, while also providing enjoyment for weaker skilled opponents and more casual players. Halo 5 seems to provide this.

Looking forward to the beta!
