3DS Homebrew Channel imminent (?)

It can be any region of the retail game new or used. But if you buy it digitally it has to be the Japanese version,
This will also work on firmware versions from 4.0 upto 9.2

HTH

It has to match the region of your 3DS though.

Yup, it's definitely rising fast on Amazon! Earlier today before it was announced, you could get a used copy of Cubic Ninja for $2 before shipping. Now the lowest I can see at a glance is ~ $16. What fun!

Glad I bought Cubic Ninja when I did then.

I managed to get a copy for £8, it was their last copy too. The thirst for region-free is real.

I hope the game itself is good, at least.

AAAAAND THE PRICE INCREASE HAS HIT

~£40 on ebay, holy fuck. All sold out on amazon apart from one £52 copy. hahahahaha

I managed to snag one for £12 from another site though, thank fuck.

I honestly don't know if what he claims about piracy is true, but it doesn't matter to me. I'm only interested in emulators and playing games from other regions

Playing a ROM off of the internet is just as illegal as piracy, so I don't understand why you have an issue with one but not the other?

Well, that's not entirely true.

I ripped my entire Game Boy/Color collection using an N64 Transfer Pak and an Everdrive 64. I ripped all of my GBA games using a DS Lite and a flashcart.

Now, there's nothing wrong here in my country about playing those titles I have legally backed up.

edit: oh, you just added the "off the internet" part. Well, yeah.

I'll wait for the second wave of everybody selling the game once they've used it.
Don't feel too bad if you missed getting before the hoardes descended, I imagine like every other time before it where one game was specifically needed to run an exploit, this will lead to further exploits becoming known without the need of this one particular game.

Man this has all been so exciting!

Can't wait for the release of homebrew channel!

Not sure if people will know but - is there any 3DS Homebrew SDK yet?

I absolutely can't believe I got this for £4.38 from GAME of all places

It sucks that I just missed out on the £12 copy from play.com. Prices going crazy now.

Closest I've managed to get is a notification of when a local store is going to get a copy. Who knows what they'll do with the price though. Are there any sites remaining that sell it for under £15?

Game.co.uk had it for £7.99 - I just bought one.

...but now they're out of stock. options are running out fast. As far as I know, there are no sites selling it for under £15 left.

I'm overeating a little here. Let me just get this out of my system as I do feel bitter. I don't like how the announcement was handled. The PSA was shit and the timing of the announcement itself too. It also seems like a moving of the goalposts (going from game announced when exploit is to a few days before to right now)

I'll be watching from the sidelines as there are no non scalped prices left. But lets be frank here. There was never going to be enough supply of Cubic Ninja.

Amazon UK movers and shakers:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/movers-and-shakers/videogames/ref=zg_bs_tab_t_bsms

As for other exploit games. Very few games have vectors and getting saves onto carts is non-trivial.

I went in 5 shops in Shinjuku, nothing

But it's not an easy game to find, new or used.

I give up anyway
Are you aware that the Japanese version is on the eShop? (the only region where it is out on the eShop in fact)

How is the game's name written in kana?
It is Cubic Ninja just in roman text. http://www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/software/aqnj/index.html

I thought there was a way to get a QR code to show up but maybe that is for download only games.

My local Kmart and Wal-Mart both have a good dozen Cubic Ninjas sitting in their bargain bin areas. Hell, fucking Kohls probably has a few. Don't fear venturing into the retail world and spending ~$5 if online prices bug you.

Problem is, you can't apply that to the rest of the world. Here in the UK, our options are seriously limited for a game like this.

True enough. I assumed any region that had a physical release would have their own chain store variations carrying old unsold stock, but who knows. At least if you're in the U.S., it should be encouraging.

We have game and CEX as national chain stores. cex have exactly ONE copy of the game in the entire country and GAME stores are spread apart and tend to get rid of old stock very quickly.

Majority of other supermarkets and chain retail stores have withdrawn Nintendo products completely anyway. So yeah, online is our best bet.

Order ID 106-4254605-8364251:
1 of Cubic Ninja - Nintendo 3DS [ASIN: B004SG211I]

------------- Begin message -------------

Hi,

This item was damaged during a home renovation (along with several boxes of games). I
thought I had deleted all of the merchandise that cannot be sold but obviously, I missed
this item. I am so sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you,
Sakura's Bookshelf

That's about my luck.

There's a gamestop about 7 miles away where the website has "low stock"... I guess I could show up 10am and see if they actually have any.

My hope is that one day I can import a game and install it to my unit as if it were a digital copy. That would be so amazing!

If you could make the 3DS recognize and play a game copied to the SD card from a cartridge, you are not far off from being able to play any game that's copied onto the SD card. Which would be the way into piracy. So personally, I hope this never happens.

By the way, how sure are we on this exploit allowing region unlocking? Is the latest still that "it should be possible"?

Fuuuuck why couldn't he have waited till Friday when most people get paid? Now I get to sit here and watch as the price rises for the next 4 days...

Maturity, bitches.
It's a UbiSoft published game. How typical.

Well guess I'll never get in on the homebrew scene since the UK apparently has 3 copies in existence.
