That's the default behaviour of the Halo 2 campaign on legendary. It would be nice if they had a skull that disabled this for Halo 2. At least it would be a lot better for people trying to play with less skilled players on the legendary difficulty.
Thanks for the heads up. We thought the game was glitched and restarted a few times before just pushing through the first few levels. Just taking it slow has been working so far.

Played this morning before heading to work. 20 minutes to find my first match. We lose 4 on 3....yes 4 on 3. Teammates did nothing to help me. Next match we play and win.
I rather lose with people I play with on a regular who aren't very good than play with those who quit out or stand idle when the game is 4-5 kills away.
Of course, I feel as if I'm a bad player when I'm unable to get power weapons (since we all know someone on the other team is going to go off with Sniper/Sword/Rocket combo).
I'm only patient because this is Halo and Halo is life. I don't expect to patch to fix everything, I have low expectations. This is just a Gears 2 launch and possibly title all of over for me.

I manage to get the flag but so does the enemy team. I'm hiding and trying to be sneaky at our base, hoping that my two teammates can go return our flag so we can score.
What do they do? Come back to our own base, wander around for a while, TK me and take the flag. Then the wrath of the enemy team crashes down on us and we get wrecked.
Complete idiots. I went and made friends with the enemy team and we killed the idiots together.
Minor change, but perfect. Halo is definitely MIA.

Do they disable the achievement for beating the game on legendary? ex. if I were to use the scarab gun for Halo 2, would it disable the legendary achievement?

Anyway.. Are you sure? Thats awesome to hear if true. I cant get any achievement score based by my experience now, so I will just have fun with those skulls!

Nope, it was a genuine issue for me. Seems to be fine now though.
Problem is I doubt the patch will fix all the problems the game has, lets face it they put out an unfinished product and people who bought it are rightly annoyed about that.

They just need to get matchmaking and team balancing fixed initially, that's my main gripe everything else can come later.

All the problems I dont think so neither. But the matchmaking is obligatory. I agree that people have the right to be annoyed, though. I do support those who bought the game for MP and wants to return it, so they buy it back if it goes fixed.
Yesterday I reccomended to wait tomorrows patch, but with that delay I cant keep telling them to wait.
But if 343 fixes the matchmaking issues, then we are good to go, and they can take more of their time to fix other bugs down the road.

Did they release episode 2 of Nightfall by any chance? Currently not in the position to go and check, but I reckon it should be up if last week was anything to go by.

Patch is delayed. I tried once and couldn't get a match. Seems about the same.

I sold the game, but I am open to buying the game back if they fix matchmaking, have ample dedicated servers, and restore the release day MP playlists. Yes I actually wanted to try H4 MP . Also having Halo CE playlist would be nice.
Wasn't there supposed to be MP ranking for all the games in the collection? Is that going to be patched in later as well? If I remember correctly the game had text that said "ranking coming soon" when I highlighted any other MP playlist than H2A.

Skulls with x0 multipliers like Envy and the Scarab skulls disable all progression related achievements, including campaign difficulty completion. You can earn other achievements though I think. Only the 1x multiplier non-scoring skulls can be used.

Damn, monitoring this thread throughout the week has been depressing. I really want to purchase an Xbox One and I am doing it mostly for Halo. I know that I'll be happier with a purchase of an Xbox One, but damn, this is just delaying me. And it keeps making me think of getting a PS4 because Microsoft just doesn't have their shit together. I guess if that patch comes through and everyone on here says the game is still broken, I'm jumping off the MS ship.

I was still not able to get into one mp game. single player was a torture. played halo 3 and master chief just exploded two times in a row without reason.
I was so happy to buy the game in a week/time like this (my stepmother is in the hospital because they found cancer) where I just want to get my mind of everything and play halo, a franchise that helped me through other hard times..
that really sucks. maybe some of you do not understand that, but halo as a franchise is important to me.

I get it bro. The Metal Gear series had a similar sentimental value to me.
On that note, I've been pretty pissed at what, from my perspective, KojiPro dicking around with the Phantom Pain release date (mostly because the kept showing the same level over and over again). However, the MCC release makes me appreciate the reason for the wait.

Nothing ridiculous about them at all. Everybody runs out of patience at some point, even you. That exact point is different for different people.
-It's already been a week.
-"Later in the week" doesn't specify when this patch will go live (i.e. it could be Sunday).
-People would rather put their $60 towards other (working) games, which they can play now (most adults have (very) limited gaming time).
-No guarantee that the patch will substantially move the game from its current alpha/beta status to gold. (This is what worries me, I'm waiting to click "add to cart" on a Xbone + MCC bundle right now, but until the game is fixed and polished appropriately I'm not prepared to drop ~£330 plus Live membership for an unfinished, broken game).

I get the impression that the delay on this patch is mostly a means for Microsoft to try and keep some of their cash. Think about it, if the patch is released and it doesn't offer an amicable fix, people might come in numbers looking for a refund. If they delay the patch as a precaution, they can tell people to fuck off when they come looking for their money back, arguing that too much time has elapsed.

As much as its frustrating, its better to get as much as they can into one update rather than spread it out which takes longer due to certification etc

So is it still possible to get a refund on this game? Seriously, if the patch doesn't work, I don't even know what to think.
Refusing refunds for a broken game would push customers away from digital xbone purchases and possibly send customers to Sony. Cost benefit wouldn't seem to make it worth it IMO.

they said the other patch, the one for tomorrow, was finished and submitted to MS.
If 343 announces that a patch is on the way before certification is completed, people complain that the patch is delayed because it fails certification.
If 343 holds off on announcing the patch until it passes certification to ensure no delay happens, people complain that 343 is being silent.
