Random tangent:

We are five mainline titles and 6 spinoffs into the Grand Theft Auto series. At this point, if you're getting offended by the game's content AFTER purchasing this particular M-rated game for your child, you're a fuck-up of a parent, plain and simple.

People should know the deal with GTA by now.

It's good to see that gaming side didn't learn anything from AC: Unity or other overly hyped games. Those dudes are never going to stop preordering no matter how many times they get burned by it.

Bold prediction:

The Order 1886 will be a subpar experience in terms of gameplay... But it will also be the only game that comes out the door 100% functional and working next year.

It will also bomb, while all the other major overhyped games will have an abundance of preorders while being released a state in which at least one or more aspects of each game is either buggy, or completely broken.

So you somehow think Nintendo releases no games in 2015??

That game is just divisive as hell.

At first people didn't like the fact it was going for the filmic look.

IGN plays it for the first time, didn't like the game play.

Months later, IGN plays it again, likes the game. People at PSX start raving.

Eurogamer now comes out with an article not liking the game. People start shitting on it again.

I played The Order at E3. Bored me so much that I didn't write anything about my time with the game.

C'mon, dude. That goes without saying.

I would've counted them, but as it stands, nether Zelda nor Starfox have release dates. Those are the only major games that I'm aware of from them. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Just copped TTT2 from GameStop.

Please don't suck.

I always like when people use inception in memes.

Because wasn't the whole definition of inception to plant a idea rather than take one and not so much this 'we have to go deeper dream within a dream' thing.

Ah good old memes.

When is the last time nintendo cancelled a game they actually announced?

Project Hammer. Announced E3 2006, quietly shelved.

Donkey Kong Racing is the only other recent one. Nintendo cancels a lot, but moves those ideas forward into later titles, so people don't count it as cancelling.

Exception that proves the rule. Also, never something high profile in an established franchise.

That said, I think there's a discussion to be had in regards to how the game handles sex workers. They are kind of just dehumanized gameplay mechanics in GTA (I haven't played all the games so I don't know if any of them feature as prominent characters). In my opinion that's partly a tech issue: do you just not have the ability to kill them (like children in open-world games), or do you develop their AI routine to a point where they have a higher sense of agency, and killing them has tangible effects and repercussions in the world (similar to many NPCs in a Bethesda game for instance)? The latter would be an extremely difficult but extremely interesting challenge for Rockstar.

They can't be bothered to give us a female protagonist, so...

What is with Japan and rape in their fiction? I've been reading horror manga and like every damn one has a rape or near rape. I switched to a ski jump manga (because why not) and guess what almost happens to the female protagonist? Twice! C'mon Japan.
made infinitely worse by the fact that the median age for manga characters is like 16.
