Zelda
Xenoblade c x
Splatoon
Mgsv
And naruto storm 4

These games are buys for me

Since I never played a souls game, I'll rent bloodbourne just to see if i like it.

I will rent batmam and uncharted 4 ..those games I could probably beat in a day.

Hope for ffxv to release this year is quite low

The rest of the game on the list look good but I'm not going to get

Is that a bad thing?

Maybe if you marathoned it, and literally skipped every side boss there was, I guess.

Every year we start this thread about the next year in gaming.

Of course.

Let's just take that one as a representative sample.

GAF's most anticipated titles 2014: (hyperbolic hype quotes that are funny in hindsight in brackets)
1. Witcher 3
2. Dark Souls 2
3. Destiny (this will truly be one of the defining games of this generation)
4. Infamous
5. Smash Bros.
6. X
7. Order 1886
8. Persona 5
9. Titanfall (I'm sure this game will set a new standard for online shooters)
10. MGSV Ground Zeroes

4 of those got delayed, 3 just kinda... came and went, 1-2 really disappointed and 1-2 actually delivered.

Other games in the top 20 included Watch Dogs, The Division, Halo 5 and The Witness... so yeah. I could do this with a number of threads and I could do this with a number of years.

The hype cycle continues.

"This year was just ok... but next year's going to be the best, you guys!"

- all of us, every fucking year

I mean some of these games are very likely to be delayed, The Division, Rainbow 6, Zelda, X...but I still think it looks good, and we'll get more announcements too.

I dunno if Yoshi's Wooly World will be remembered, but I can safely bet that Bloodborne, MGSV, Uncharted 4 and The Witcher 3 are going to deliver like a motherfucker.
Don't drag this thread down with talk of the vaporware that is TLG, lol.

Too late!

These are the ones in the list that I'm most interested in:

-The Legend of Zelda Wii U
-Halo 5: Guardians
-Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
-Xenoblade Chronicles X
-Batman: Arkham Knight
-Star Wars: Battlefront
-Just Cause 3
-Resident Evil: Revelations 2
-Quantum Break
-Yoshi's Wooly World
-Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
-Star Fox Wii U
-The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D (I already own the original...well, the GameCube version, so I don't know if I'll get it)
-Mortal Kombat X
-Splatoon
-Rise of the Tomb Raider

How many I'll actually get, though, I have no idea.

Yep, 2015 is the year the ps4 and xb1 come into full bloom. Imagine how well the ps4 is selling now with what a lot consider to be no games, gonna be crazy.

oh god, going through another "your top 5 most anticipated 2014 games" thread and it's just heartbreaking. So many lists with 4 games that never came out and... Destiny/Driveclub.

1. Quantum Break
2. Halo
3. Sunset Overdrive
4. Destiny
5. X

And a bunch of others, 2014 is packed!

inFamous delivered for me. Freaking gorgeous game that's a joy to screw around in--it just needed more content. It's not a hype cycle thing, it's a "new hardware" thing. Developers needed time to get used to the hardware, so a lot of games that should have saw release in 2014 didn't. That's why this year was meh. I'm pretty sure at the end of 2007 and 2011 there weren't that many people disappointed.

2014 was already amazing if you looked beyond AAA games. Can't wait for 2015

lol. I looked beyond them, and largely I wasn't interested in what I found. Imagine that.

Too late!

lol, its sad that I want TLG to come out just so I can stop hearing about it.

2015 will probably be the best year of this gen, although I have a feeling we'll see a lot of delays.

EDIT - and disappointments / broken games.

Hopefully Smash 4 DLC besides Mewtwo/Miiverse Stage (Please Sakurai, I will pay an obscene amount of money)

Its gonna be a great year, probably the best of this generation (although I think the next three years are gonna be insane and then it will slow down around 2018)

I'm most looking forward to Zelda and most interested in seeing what Star Fox becomes.

It certainly has potential and also I like how things are currently spread out and not all piled in at years end.

2015 is gonna be great, but nowhere near as good as 2014 was(unless torment manages to squeeze in)

I will get pillars of eternity and witcher 3 day 1. The rest on a free time basis.

Everyone forgets about Devil's Third :(

This is how backlogs are born.

If Guerrilla's Horizon makes it next year it'll probably be the best year for me in recent memory.

Huh, how old is this footage? I remember it looked really bad at E3. This actually looks decent.

All I really see are a few "interesting" possibilities, like SW:Battlefront (Knowing dices recent track record, yeesh) and Rainbow Six: Siege (knowing Ubisofts current track record, yeesh). Phantom Pain will be a quality game most likely and it's cool it's on PC. Call of Duty is Treyarch so there's hope for something cool, along with zombies which is always good.

But no games I'm actually 'excited' for. Still waiting on a new Fallout, a new Elder Scrolls, the next real Borderlands, or a new IP that has something new to look forward to. No FF15 again, the weird mini demo is pretty much confirmation of that.

We need a new big, quality RPG IP really bad. I don't particularly think Witcher 2 is a very good game so I'm not looking forward to 3 much at all.

I believe it's still from the E3 stuff.

They didn't do a good job demoing it (for whatever reason), but I still think the game seems very promising. I'm really looking forward to seeing more, it's actually the game that pushed me over the edge into getting a Wii U.

My current 2015 to-buy list:

-Resident Evil HD Remaster (need some Resident Evil in my life and Revelations 2 looks uninspired to me)
-Journey
-The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt
-Batman: Arkham Knight
-Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
-No Man's Sky
-Star Wars: Battlefront
-Assassin's Creed: Victory (may change, may not. Depends if they can do the Victorian-era London setting justice)
-Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
-The Division (looks ambitious and beautiful. Although it may get a swift kick off the list if it has the following: trademark Ubisoft padding. server issues, lack of content and more grind ala Destiny)

I'm sure there are a couple of more games to be announced for the Fall aswell.

I think it's gonna be legendary. That list alone has tons of potentially great games and with many of them set for the first half, l don't expect too many delays. Nor disappointments, 2015 will deliver hard.

Some smaller games l can't wait to play: Axiom Verge, Cuphead, Superhot, Hyper Light Drifter and Below.

Also hope Scalebound will be a 2015 game.

When someone like me who has developed a very selective taste over the years based on my very specific preferences in gameplay and art style in games has already pre-ordered 4 games from next year (Bloodborne,Dark Souls 2 SOTFS,FF Type-0,The Witcher 3) then you can tell that something crazy is going to happen next year.

These are my day 1,ultra hyped games so far:
Bloodborne
Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the First Sin
FF Type 0 HD
The Witcher 3
Rime
Everyone's Gone to Rapture
Apotheon
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Zelda U
Yakuza 5

I might also buy a few others (like Uncharted 4 and No Man's Sky for example) but on a much later date (2016-2017).

Lots of smaller stuff I'm looking forward to as well:
Project Phoenix
Hyper light drifter
Dragon fin soup
Cosmic Star Heroine
Titan souls
Liege
Axiom verge

Also Ys 8 on Vita/Ps4, and EO Mystery Dungeon, MonHun 4 and Bravely Default 2 on 3DS.

Looks hot. We say that every year, but damn. Every single mega franchise I can think of that didn't get a release in 2014 is getting its dues in 2015. MGS, Zelda, Halo, Starcraft, Uncharted, FF... maybe Mass Effect...
