The beta is for the update, not MCC proper.

Still amazing that they're doing a public-ish beta test for an update, though. Makes me somewhat hopeful that this is an "actual" big update, and not just another 2GB of broken promises.

This is basically like that BF4 community testing server so they can test stuff with the public before launching the patch for everyone. Nothing to get upset over (with this in particular).

Overreacted, because of the thread title and the OP.

After reading everything closely for about 2 or 3 times, I think this is a pretty good sign.

Don't blow it out of proportion, they're just testing the updates to make sure they work properly upon release. Obviously the game has its problems, but at least these updates will hopefully fix stuff with people testing them out on a larger scale first.

Testing Beta builds of released stuff isn't that unusual. Just meant for the dedicated to test before they push it to everyone else. Like the PTR that Blizzard does for a lot of games.

Kind of makes sense, in a sad state of affairs way.

Although you would think Microsoft would have enough global testers to do this themselves.
Can they really not simulate real life scenarios enough?

U.S. only too is a bit of a .. hmm. Hmm. I dunno. I'd love to hear about what plans 343 have in mind to ensure this game has a population by the time they're done.. fixing it.

Perhaps tied to the rumors of the whole Microsoft matchmaking API or whatever being a total shitshow, forcing them to basically start from scratch at the back end.

Yeah, you generally shouldnt have to beta test your updates. As in, the vast majority of devs dont have to do tests outside of closed spaces, which is why this is laughable to manyz

This part is great. You know they're going to create a bug that will lock people out of normal matchmaking for a long period of time.

I'm staying far, farrrrrrrr away from this "beta".
