On one hand
- Get $95 back and pay only $40 for it on the PSN
- Redeemed version of GAOT becomes a free game

On the other hand
- I don't wanna give it back and get a censored version :x

The best part of this is the censored version has a separate game ID, so if you return your copy, you'll lose all your save files and trophies and have to start again.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.

For a moment I thought it was being recalled on account of lack of quality. Would have set a precedent in standards for the next equivalent of Skyrim ps3

Having the uncensored version is sorta pointless in this day and age. I mean they're going to issue a patch to censor it--don't kid yourselves, they basically have too--and people are going to have to play offline for the duration of their playthrough, miss any future DLC, and have to uninstall the game and put the console into offline mode in order to play through it uncensored again.

Seems like a lot of work just to stick it to the government, and for not a lot of gain, really.

They can't.

They've basically printed a different region version of the game onto the disc, you couldn't censor these copies without effecting the region the incorrect pressing originally came from

Ooh, that's interesting indeed.

Good for the people who got the regular copies. Fuck censorship.

Yup, even looking at the trophy lists you can see the mistake

Uncensored: http://psnprofiles.com/trophies/3300-Saints-Row-IV-Re-elected (Go to leaderboards and see the mix of countries playing the uncensored versions)

Censored Version: http://psnprofiles.com/trophies/3301-Saints-Row-IV-Re-elected (See leaderboards, only AUS players aside from one importer)

This is why I urge anyone with a uncensored copy to keep theirs, if you get the uncensored version, you'll lose your save files and trophy progress (as you'll be starting again on the censored version and all your data is for the uncensored version).

It would be interesting to see if a AUS player could post the CUSA code on their disc to see what region these versions of the game are actually for

IS there a way to know from the cover if you have the censored or uncensored version?

edit. Just noticed, PS4 version only. So no point being in a rush for my brother-in-law to get an Xbone copy.

To those thinking of buying the AUS version because it will become a rare collector's item....don't be daft!! All other PAL versions are uncensored so this is not something that will ever be rare.

Nope, however, the Xbox One is region free, so he could get a copy from a uncensored country and it will work fine on his machine.

Man, poor Australia. The German rating system actually has become pretty open minded over the recent years. Australia seems to go the opposite direction.

what the hell is wrong with Australia? are violent movies, tv shows and comics banned there as well

Nah its more that we still have a lot of old people in places that define our classifications.

We didnt even have an R rating for years because it was argued that games are for kids and kids dont need R rated content getting into their hands, because you know, no one over 18 plays games.

Though as I pointed out when we were having these debates about the R rating being introduced in Australia, it doesnt really mean much. It just means games that many games that would have been pushed through as MA15+ are now rated R, and the games that would have before been banned as we didnt have an R rating, are still being banned anyway.

Effectively all we got with the introduction of the R rating was all the games scaled one step higher in the classification boards. MA became R, M became MA ec.

Unless you are a collector of really obscure shit I doubt anyone cares about the aus uncensored version when pretty much every other territory has it uncensored too.

I temporarily forgot things are region free these days. A far cry from the draconian 90's... unless you're Nintendo!
