According to the GI article, the whole studio is working on Uncharted.

That's a bit fucked up then, Uncharted games have never sold 'OMG amazing' numbers so betting the whole studio on one game that has taken over 3 years to develop does not seem too smart.

A smaller team working on a new IP is not saying such. If it's maybe 20 people working on a new IP then we will wait for a very long time, if it's more like 50 then hopefully we will see something sooner rather than later.

Back in June last year, Evans and Balestra said that they have a small pre-production team of 40-50 or so people working on the 'next major project on the scale of Uncharted.'

They can probably finance a year's worth of studio work on The Last of Us Remastered alone.

And regardless of that, Uncharted's sales definitely justify committing an entire studio to.

I am happy.

Well, there is this quote:

We know that isn't true, because after Left Behind wrapped, there was 3 things going on:

1. TLoU Remastered port ( small team of programmers)
2. Brainstorming next game idea by Bruce/Neil ( probably just a few people )
3. Uncharted 4 ( the studio's main focus )

Sometimes, these articles don't really convey nuances properly. The studio being fully focused on Uncharted 4 doesn't necessarily exclude a small pre-production team setting up the next big project.

Remember Guys, there's a Santa Monica Event in March, maybe we will get a first look at something new. Chances that we will get a Remaster out of it are high.

Uncharted absolutely justifies it. And it hasn't been 3 years of nothing. The Last Of Us on PS3 in 2013, TLOU Remastered in 2014 and Uncharted 4 in 2015(unless it gets delayed). As someone else stated Uncharted is a huge seller so there really isn't an issue if they weren't doing something else.

Those rumours aren't mutually exclusive, Sony London are a large studio with 3 or 4 teams.

Isn't Sony London the biggest Sony studio in term of people working there?

Or maybe I misheard it somewhere.

On the SCE WWS website it says London Studio has over 300 staff, but a while back I had the same discussion with John Bender and he linked me to a Eurogamer article which said they had 120 staff (apparently due to heavy scaling back), so I honestly have no idea.

London Studios is a huge studio. They could potentially have multiple projects. But yeah, given their output in the last few years, I wouldn't put any money on anything but Morpheus game(s).

Uncharted 4 selling well won't have anything to do with the franchises name, after all TLOU sold more than any Uncharted game. It's gonna have to do with how ND have improved since TLOU, the game was just wonderful and a huge jump in terms of story and gameplay compared to previous Uncharted games. I didn't like the previous 3 Uncharted games but will judge the studio on the last game they made which is TLOU aka the best game I've played during the last few years.

ND can achieve success without the need of a franchises name, I hope that this is the last Uncharted game and ND move on after this like how they finished up with Jak. Also Sony go all out with ND games with regards to advertising, TLOU has to be the most heavily advertised Sony game ever here in the UK which I'm sure can't hurt sales.

Wat. Uncharted sold as well as Gears of War.

Also, I don't think you understand how Naughty Dog's two team setup works. They've got two relatively small core teams and then the large production team, who basically move between the two depending on whether they're needed. So IF they've got a second pre-production team working on another game (whether it be a new IP, TLOU 2 or whatever) right now, then when Uncharted 4 is finished, most of the team will move over to that project and the Uncharted 4 core team will start pre-production work on their next game. Then it switches back once that other game is finished.

I knew they'd gone through a couple of rounds of layoffs but they can't be that small. They were still responsible for a few services (Singstar and, until recently, Home) and games (Wonderbook, Playroom, Eyepet).

It's a nice thought but come on dude; don't do it to yourself!

I thought JuanLatino was going to update the OP with all known projects, rumours and studios, but it seems he never did. From those you've listed, I'm really excited in Edith Finch (I loved TUS), Rapture, The Tomorrow Children, Helldivers and of course Bloodborne.

i wasnt really sure which studios really are second party...But Shabads list is the solution. So i will add this later

Not really, before Bloodbourne even got leaked as Project Beast, pretty much most of the people around here refused to believe that From would ever do an exclusive game with Sony ever again after how badly they treated Demon's Souls.

So much crow was served at E3 last year. Even up to the E3 Sony conference, people refused to believe that Project Beast was a PS4 exclusive.
I can't reply to most people but a lot of people could have put 2 + 2 together. That to me was as obvious as the U4 being ND's new game. Easy to call. Now when Verendus says Sony is working on a AAA jRPG from Studio Japan in the scale of Final Fantasy, that's a statement that if it turns out to be true, is worth some credible information. Saying that, he's said this in 2013.. Verendus, if this game doesn't show up at E3 this year...

I expect Bloodborne so others not doing so means nothing to me. It's not an impressive inside knowledge IMO but to each his own.

verendus also said Dragon Quest would make a comeback on the Playstation...And thats not something people normally would have expected

Barlog on twitter said that E32015 is too early to show his project. So I think it's better to expect info about games that other developers partnered with SSM Studio to create... Not God of War.

It's GoW's 10th year anniversary, which is why they're having that event in the first place...

I don't think we'll see GoW4 there either, but either a port of Ascension/3, or even an official announcement of the game, I could see happen. (Cory already let the cat out of the bag anyway)

I really doubt they would bother having a media event, or whatever it is supposed to be, if it wasn't for a big reveal.

I think the studio is in a bit of flux due to the Hennig incident. We don't really know to what extent they have changed things or how much re-working is needed.

If the whole studio is now working exclusively on U4 then maybe the ~8 months left to go gold is a bit of a tight deadline?

I hope they have goats to slaughter in front of the press.

Sorry Verendus, since you've got a good knowledge of the Japanese side of things, do you happen to know what's going on with Ni-Oh? Last i heard Team Ninja said it was still in developement very openly, but we never saw it. Maybe it could fit on that list on multiple categories.

Btw, I think the next two years are going to be something like this (of course i can't count unannounced and games that maybe are teased but hard to imagine):
2015
Q1
The Order 1886
Bloodborne
Q2
Persona 5 JP
Ultra Street Fighter IV
Tearaway Unfolded
Rime
Beyond HD
Q3
Until Dawn
Ratchet&Clank
Persona 5 USA

Uncharted 4
No Man's Sky
Persona 5 PAL
Kill Strain
Shadow of the Beast
2016
Q1
Horizon
Street Fighter 5

I think it's best to consider Ni-oh deaf and buried unless we get some proper evidence and a release date for it. I remember it being on a PS3 sizzle reel...

Yeah but latest info are from last November, and if they're talking about it, and in such a specific manner, it means its still alive.
It's probably just in a VersusXII/TLG situation where moving from PS3 to PS4 proved to be more complicated than expected and a lot of assetd had to be redone.

Ni-Oh ain't dead yet. This was two months ago: http://venturebeat.com/2014/11/15/b...exual-fantasy-and-the-future-part-1/view-all/

Team Ninja's Yosuke Hayashi: “I have heard rumors that it’s been stopped, but it’s actually very much in development. We still need a little time before showing it off, but it is starting to come together and feel good. You should definitely keep an eye out for it in the future.”

UC3 sold at least 6 million and the IP looks like it was growing .
UC4 will sell better and the 3 major factors for that is PS4 selling better , ND name becoming bigger and the IP was getting bigger .
Your saying ND can achieve success without the need of a franchises name which is true but if you think that having the makers of UC did not help TLOU sales you would be crazy .
Also not that ND betting the studio on UC4 but a game selling 6 million can easily carry a staff of 200@ 3 years dev time even more so since they first party.

Ok so im still not finished (Xdev, Pixelopus)
but in the meantime

They were at one point but I think they have been downsized, they were 300+ last time I checked. Japan Studio is the biggest now with more then 400 people.

London Studio = ~110

The studio as a whole employs around 110 people and about half are working on the Morpheus prototype. Part of that is an art team that fluctuates – if we want to make something to take to a videogame show, then we ramp up the art team accordingly. But it’s around half.

Interview is fairly recent too.

What is even the current status of Deep Down? The game was supposed to be out by now.

WE haven't heard about it in a number of months.

Umm people are still arguing to this day that it isn't. It's literally brought up ad infinitum in every single Bloodborne thread despite being proven exclusive over and over and over.
