Game Informer March Cover: Rise of the Tomb Raider

Lol that last sentence.

The most absurd thing is their intention to still push ahead with the Xbox 360 version at this stage. Why even bother; surely they've seen that last-gen software sales are already through the floor, and this game won't be out for 8+ months yet?!

I hope Lara doesn't get quite as beat up this go around. The last game should have been subtitled "Lara's no good, bad luck rotten day." She was like Wile E. Coyote with TressFX.

Why are strippers at the U.N. bad when they're great at strip clubs???
Really excited for this game, can't wait.

One of my most-anticipated games of the year.

no confidence Xbox One version will sell consoles. it'll probably sell way more on 360 anyway.

I dig it.

White coat with blood, or red coat with snow? Take your pick!

I'm sad it's not 'confirmed' for PS4 yet. Also sad that it's cross gen again, although the definitive edition certainly looked pretty enough. I'd like to think I wouldn't buy if it was timed exclusive but I think I'm just kidding myself :/

I want this game, but I was hoping the killing of animals wouldn't be as prominent as it was in the original. I guess that isn't the case based on the cover. :/

So in all seriousness releasing this in holiday 2015 on last gen seems very very foolish. Last gen software sales are in free fall unless your games name is COD.

I realize when they originally made the decision the last gen consoles still looked appealing due to their huge install base but the vast majority of those consumers buying patterns have slowed while saving up for new consoles, or have actually moved on to the new systems.

I'll be honest I expect the last gen version to perform pretty poorly which is a shame because if they had focused on current gen they could have pushed alot more into the game. Either way I still expect it to be fantastic.

X1 exclusive wouldn't be profitable. So they are trying with X360+X1. But CD doesn't care because MS is paying bills. We will see but as PC gamer i still hate this whole exclusivity thing.

I see what you did there Game Informer...

Let's hope the writing and performances are good this time around. I thought the gameplay was great before, but the narrative and characters? Woeful.

Nice cover but like the last game, it isn't revolutionary.

I can wait as long as it takes to make it to my system of choice, but by then I won't plan to pick it up day one.

Looks like a direct continuation of the previous one, count me unhyped.

I dig it.

Eh, it's obviously a red coat with snow.

Unless it's magical blood that doesn't fall on any other part of her clothes.

I'm gonna have a lot of fun on Xbone this fall with Halo 5, Quantum Break and Tomb Raider, hopefully the won't be released the same month!

Same, can't wait.

Prediction: Quantum Break will be released in August and one of Halo or TR will be released in November and the other in October.

The specific calling out of "puzzle tombs" makes me think we're still not going to be "raiding tombs" as part of the core plot, which makes me a bit sad. All of my favorite stuff from the original games comes from the huge tombs and puzzles there, which were part of the core game then.

Have you seen the first screenshots? it looks awesome, nothing less than Uncharted 4, so i'd say Xbox 360 version isn't holding the Xbone version back...of course i want to look a proper gameplay to judge better, but i trust Crystal Dynamics, the PC/definitive edition version of Tomb Raider 2013 looked already another game compared to the PS3/360 one.

This game is using the same engine as the last game... This cross gen is going to be mostly 'free' since they are just reusing the same last gen engine.

Man, there are some big promises interspersed in the buttercream-thick PR fluff in that video. I feel safe calling bullshit, but I'd be happy to be wrong.

In between dumb-easy platforming sequences and murder-sprees, you will get a prompt alerting you to a nearby tomb in the area. This time they will be twice as big as they were in TR 2013 and with twice as many seesaw puzzles.
