I'm glad they're making sprint optional. Now add in a custom games browser so those who prefer playing without sprint can do so in a variety of game types!
This guy knows what's up

It's a mistake to listen the fans too much. Like Steve Jobs said, people don't know what they want.
343i are supposed to be the game design experts. They should have a vision and sick to it instead of pandering to the fans.
But the results aren't what I want. It's clearly not accurate.

A lot of the list seems padded with stuff you would expect anyways but there are a couple of nice changes at least.
Over 19,000 of you have already signed up for the HCFP, with the average amount of Halo played per HCFP participant clocking in at over 900 hours (thats more than 37 days of Halo playtime per participant!).
Oh shit.
I'm rolling my eyes.I like the increased movement speed, but 343 still has no idea why sprint absolutely ruins any promise this game has. Oh well. Time to go play my semi working collection of older games.
19k is pretty big sample group. A lot smaller would provide accurate statistics already.
This can't be correct.
They ignored the fans once, the result was Halo 4.It's a mistake to listen the fans too much. Like Steve Jobs said, people don't know what they want.

They mean 37 days of play time across ALL the Halo games, I think. This can't be correct.
So you could shoot grenades and blow them up. They're removing that? That's... I disagree with that intensely. It was always a really cool detail of the games.Remove grenade detonation in mid-air based on weapon fire
Probably the most common question that we heard about CSR was regarding recognition of individual performance. The system is designed to reflect wins and losses at the team level. Individual performance is not taken into account when calculating bonuses/penalties to CSR; it’s all about team. The one exception is during the initial placement process when the system is solving on individual skill. The biggest complaint we heard was in the case of a losing team member that significantly outperformed the other members of their team. Many players felt that in this case the penalty for losing should be reduced.
Philosophically we believe that in a team sport the only thing that should matter is wins and losses. We also believe that incentivizing players to prioritize their own individual stats in a team game can undermine team play. A player’s Kill/Death Ratio (the stat that tends to be focused on in these discussions) is not always a reliable indicator of impact on team success. A player may have inflated kills from finishing off enemies that their teammates have damaged, or may have pursued kills at the expense of positioning and map control. The simplest and best way to assess performance within a team sport, is the team’s success.
Bonuses and penalties are based on the relative strength of the teams at play. Teams are assessed on their collective skill at the beginning of the match. You gain more by winning against a team that is considered to be stronger than your own. Likewise, losing to a more skilled team will result in a lesser penalty to your CSR. These gains and losses are further modified by a player’s individual CSR relative to the teams at play. So for example, a lower tier player gains more from a win than someone at a higher CSR tier. We will continue refining these bonuses & penalties to reflect the difficulty of each match.

Agree, custom games are nice and all but I've probably spend less than 1% of my Halo playtime in custom games.Custom games.
Why not just have it as a matchmaking option? You can either play with those abilities or you can't. There's really no need to limit it to just custom games.
Fine with most of it but...

11% eh, find that hard to believe when there are such passionate threads on their own forums miles long. Adding options is just to appeal to the audience to get them in, unless sprint is not a default then its not a win. Disappointed there is no news on another beta to test these changes. They very much need another beta if only to re-test their craptacular matchmaking.
At this point I am not getting it. Another beta/demo could help convince me, but I am pretty strong on the no sprint so doubt it I will get it regardless. Just can't support 343 and their vision of Halo, the lack of respect towards Halo as a whole and how they have single handed destroyed the franchise.
I think to a certain point this is true. Ignoring fans is never good. Sometimes you have to "put your foot down" on certain features. It's a mistake to listen the fans too much. Like Steve Jobs said, people don't know what they want.

89% of the halo community are idiots, confirmed.
Yeah, because a super soldier wouldn't be able to run.

I just skimmed through the blog post and I didn't see any mention of how dark the game was or how the blue team blends in with the environment on some maps. That kind of worries me.
With the Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta being held so early in development, there is a laundry list of other bug fixes and improvements that we are tracking as a team. Far too many to document here. Everything from weapon placements on maps, to lighting improvements, to rule tweaks in game modes and modifications to the motion tracker to encourage more movement at higher levels of play.

Sounds like something a dictator would say. It's a mistake to listen the fans too much. Like Steve Jobs said, people don't know what they want.

Or 11% are stuck in the past. I like both varieties, but the inability of people to accept that the game has to evolve baffles me. 343 has correctly realized that if they tried to sell a Halo game that doesn't incorporate popular features that the general public expects in a shooter, that they will not be able to sell enough copies of the game to make a profit. Be happy that you have an avenue to turn off sprint. My guess is that the sprintless playlist will have some of the lowest player counts of all the playlists.
Someone tell Leyasu he got his wish, and can select datacenter in Halo 5.
You never ran at full speed in the older games though, you weren't even moving at a jogging speed in 1 & 2A super soldier should be able to constantly run at full speed without compromising his ability to aim his gun and shoot. AKA - what the older games did right
