Microsoft announced a new Xbox One bundle for Japan (White console + Halo MCC).This same bundle was announced last year for Brazil (release in march 2015).

I'm thinking that Microsoft will release this bundle in USA and Europe too.

I didn't. I simply said it was possible and stated why. I also added that I would have needed to see the gap in December to make a better prediction (since December NPD wasn't out yet).
It wouldn't have made sense for me to (constantly) say it was stupid for MS to increase the price if I felt that there was a greater chance (over 50%) for the system to win January NPD.

On top of this, I said that Sony would more than likely get February and March due to the system's exclusive games back then; I was only talking about January -- not multiple months and/or the whole year.

I remember you doing so, but I won't go back to the argument. Anyway, it would've been interesting seeing the result if MS would've left the price drop untouched. That simple mishap might hurt them more than they possibly thought.

It's funny that we don't have numbers. Still people are saying that PS4 sold well and Xbox One is doomed again.

They'll risk having a lot of media controversy if they do that in US. The game still has issues.

When are people expecting Xbox One to go back on top? It can't be until their next big exclusive, right? I haven't heard anything concerning Quantum Break...

Depends on what the 2015 game release schedule is. Said before that I could see the Xbox One winning August if they have a Madden NFL 16 bundle but if they don't then November and December seem like the only possible months.

It's a shame they're still hawking it heavily despite the continuing issues.

MS is in a rough situation regardless of the price drop.

- Word of mouth on MCC is negative I mean the game even has a bad score on Amazon and I thought that was impossible.
- They have nothing coming out for the system that would remotely drive sales till the Holidays.

Yeah sounds about right.

they had a madden bundle last august and didn't win. doubt it would change this year.

QB isn't going to be a system seller. The X1 won't go back on top till Halo 5 month (assuming it's the only big exclusive that month) or another price cut. Barring that, I assume it'll likely take Nov and Dec this year if MS are as aggressive (though that also depends on what Sony does price wise this year).

Must be mistaken then. Wouldn't have said it was stupid so many times (haha) if I felt that way.

Agreed.

They need to improve in a number of areas (everbody does), but cheering for them to fail? C'mon. Nintendo out of gaming is NOT a good thing. Thankfully, that ain't happening any time soon.

The longer Nintendo treads water, the less they have an incentive to give a damn or try harder.

Right now they're doing their own thing. And generations are being raised on Angry Birds, Minecraft and Candy Crush instead of Nintendo's products. In a few years, they're not going to have nostalgia to fall back on.

Of course they know. They release titles throughout the year instead of cluttering up September - December.

I was just referencing the interview where they said something to the effect of "we don't know why it's so successful" :p but yeah their release strategy in 2014 was smart

March - Infamous
May - MLB
July - TLOU:R
October - Driveclub
November - LBP3

Microsoft was testing the elasticity outside holiday periods by raising the price back up for a few days.

Whatever sales they lost could have easily been compensated by the rich data they collected in a lot of cases. I wouldn't worry too much.

Will they release it with AssCreed 5 and call it the broken game bundle?

Nintendo's first party output has done nothing for me in a long time but if Bayonetta 2 would have only happened with their backing then I am so happy they have been treading water.

QB can be a system seller, but it has to have a kickass MP reveal showing.

Have they announced MP in that game? How would they even do that?

So anyone thinking a slim version at E3 this year for both? If both are $299, is it even possible for the Xbox to win a month this year?

Figures.

I wonder which ones will have any kind of legs. LBP is usually never sells well at launch but picks up when more parents buy consoles.

I don't know how much awareness there was for the PS3 version, but it performed even worse than than the PS4 version. Significantly, from what I remember.

Huh, I honestly thought the XB1 would sell more in January. And good for for Techland. Dying Light isn't my type of game, but it does look like a fun, solid title.

What's the narrative behind the PS4 selling more digital games?

You wouldn't think the retail sales would have any correlation with the digital sales?

I don't know about the other games but PS4 had the $29 NBA 2k14, Destiny, LBP3 full game downloads deal in January as well as December.

You're not familiar with Dragonborns thoughts on every Xbox One exclusive this year? lol

hint: they're all nothing special/gonna suck

Glad to hear the Order is looking good (I assume you guys mean preorder numbers?)

Think I AM gonna get it day one. Hype is too strong for it, don't wanna miss out.

I get the feeling that reviews will kill at least a large part of the momentum that The Order seems to be gaining a week before release.

I may wrong of course, but I just don't see it moving systems in any signifcant fashion. Certainly not enough to put the X1 above the PS4 unless it's accompanied by a price cut. Look at Alan Wake, for example.

I believe Quantum Break is the type of game with much greater mass appeal than Alan Wake.

Real talk, I didn't see a single commercial here in the states for Driveclub. Even Friggin Sonic Boom had a commercial. I mean, I doubt that it would have made a huge difference, but Sony didn't even try.

Alan Wake was a disappointment for MS, so it will be interesting to see if Quantum Break can perform significantly better.
