Reside here in the US. Will likely be picking an XL up within the next couple of weeks.

It's also going to be my first portable Nintendo console since...the original launch NDS in 2004. And as with Wii U, I will mainly be going the physical route, with maybe a few exceptions later on down the line. Boy, am I glad I waited. The 3DS library has a ton to offer.

Other things: I thankfully scored a 3DS card case from Club N, so can't wait for that. I will have to find a charger, though. Shouldn't be too hard since all of them since the DSi work, iirc, so I could find one dirt cheap in a used game store somewhere.

Lastly, are there any decent cases or pouches for JUST the unit that are ~$10? Would grab the pouch out of the Club N rewards, but those won't last long, and I'm back down to 200 coins.Will any old 3DS XL pouches accommodate the N3DSXL?

Transfer process was easier than I thought. I just did the PC transfer and moved it all to my new 32gb. I got the red one and I'm not really diggin the glossy outer shell but I like that it's red on the inside instead of just being red on the outside and black inside. C-stick is simple to use than I had imagined although I do keep bumping my thumb on the hinge which can be annoying. Controlling the camera in Majora is great. This might seem insignificant but I'm actually excited about the amiibo functionality on this. It looks cool to me to just place your amiibo on the touch screen.

Got the shipping confirmation for my MH4 LE 3DS. Now just watching unboxing videos over and over again.

That brushed silver has really grown on me. So pumped for the hardware upgrade and a nice, relaxed replay of Majora's Mask.

I bought myself a new white 3ds, could not resist bought it together with some yoshi cover plates and the Majoras Mask limited edition. In the end I've been a zelda fan since 1991 and even though I have a 3ds xl, I thought it best to upgrade but go for the smaller one and keep my old 3ds xl. Should arrive today after ordering yesterday afternoon on the Nintendo uk store, I feel like a kid waiting for Santa.

Yes, screen size is the only difference between a n3DS and n3DS XL. Unless you're asking the difference between New 3DS and the older 3DS?

Since I got my N3DS XL back in November, I've been going on endlessly here about just how fucking amazing the new 3D is. Was frustrating to encounter people who would say "nah, it can't be that good"

Haven't read this thread yet, but I'm hoping many are now seeing why I've been raving about it so much over the past three months. The new 3D is incredible, and its something you have to try yourself to understand.

I'm not 100% sure but I believe an order gets automatically cancelled if the person fails to pick it up within a week but I don't know if you want that hold on your account during that whole time.

You could try giving them a call on what the process is, think their phone support is 24/7. I'm guessing you mean the BB on 44th?

Just checked on the website, and it says you can cancel a store pickup order by calling 1-888-BESTBUY and have the CC info handy. I think I may just do the backup plan, lol.

Do UI elements look like less blurry and do textures look sharper on the the smaller new 3ds as compared to new 3ds xl?

It was definitely worth the upgrade, went from an Xl to a new 3DS and I'm completely happy with the screen size. The 3D effect is much improved and you can just leave it on permanently now. Tried out the c stick with MH3U and it works great too.
Best 3D effect so far though is the crimson shroud menu icon!

Got the system at a midnight launch and did the transfer. Unscrewing that back and replacing the MicroSD card with a new 32GB card was such a pain in the ass. Despite the screws being loosened, .the back just did not want to come out and I was worried about breaking the back of my brand new system. Also, the damn power button kept going on as it's on the bottom now. I don't care if I have to delete games if my MicroSD card gets full, I'm NEVER doing that again.

That said, I like how the home button is more gentle to push now and the start and select buttons are back to the bottom right side making it much easier to pause. I got the red, but I hate the super-glossy finish as it's a magnet for fingerprints and smudges. The C-Stick works great.

Welp, I put in a store pickup order for the Best Buy that's close to Nintendo World. Got an email that the store is currently closed, lol. So I guess as long as the have stock, I should have my backup set when they open.

One good thing is that its single digits in NYC right now, And -10 to -25 with the wind chill, shouldn't be many lines anywhere hehe.

Picked up my red New 3DS XL tonight at midnight at Walmart. They only had two red systems and three black. Loving it so far and the top screen has much richer colors than the previous XL to my eyes as well as a viewing angle akin to the dsi xl.
So glad I won't have to change my micro sd card ever again unless it breaks or something since that back was a pain to remove without being scared of cracking it.

Nope. You'll need a micro SD card. I recommend doing the data transfer through the PC using your old SD card and a Micro SD card with an SD card adapter before doing a system transfer. You an then use the Micro SD card with the SD adapter on you old 3DS until you're ready for the new one. Then, just do the license transfer and you'll save yourself some time.

The transfer process was a mess for me. Turns out I only have an SD card USB reader and not a writer, and my old MacBook Air doesn't have an SD card reader. So I ran around my place for about half an hour trying to find something. I ended up using my TASCAM DR-40 to write to my microSD card. Moral of the story is don't buy SD card readers if they don't write.

Can't wait to try Majora's Mask and Monster Hunter in the morning!
