Ready at Dawn has been touring Europe, promoting The Order: 1886, and we got the opportunity to talk with Ru Weerasuriya, Ready At Dawn's CEO, during their conference in Lisbon. Among other topics, Ru categorically denied the rumour about the main campaign being five hours long:

"This number began to emerge more than a week ago, but it is totally incorrect. We just don't go out there and basically try to correct people when they put information that is wrong. I don't know where he got the number from, but what you can expect from the game is a true single-player game, just like what you would expect from the games you played before."

Because those aren't bullets. They are pellets packed with strips of aluminum iron oxide that must be ignited by a follow up flair (secondary shot). The enemy was probably sneezing though.

How do you not know this by now? You can get out from MSGV threads once in a while, you know. ;)

he thermite rifle works in two steps. You fire the non-lethal gas pellets and then fire the thermite which should kill them

I think he's firing the inflamable stuff, but not igniting it afterwards?

A friend of mine once made thermite and set light to it in a backyard at a birthday party in York in the UK.

Mildly spectacular.

I had forgotten how many journos couldn't figure out how to use the thermite gun despite having a rep standing next to them explaining it, text during the load screen explaining it, and text on screen in gameplay explaining it.

To be fair E3 is always a very busy time for them, no time to read instructions or listen to reps :p

This is what we've come to in this thread :p Watching journalists spray enemies over and over...and over and over again, not realising they just need to pull trigger to fire the actual flare to light them up, and get the kill. Lol.

I don't want to derail this thread, but c'mon Sna4ke, aside from having lower resolution and framerate along with less detailed textures, isn't that image almost exactly what the PS3 version will look like?

Don't get me wrong, MGSV is going to make every other game eat shit in terms of being the complete package and especially when it comes to gameplay, and it does look eye poppingly good at 60fps, but it is pretty much a PS3 title made to look better on PS4, that's the reality.

So... we must say that Ready at Dawn... after the Okami Wii port, some PSP games like Daxter, GOW Chains of Olympus and God of Sparta... and the GOW Origins Collection PS3 port... they nailed it for their first big budget on the next gen?

May be true the rumors about sony trying to make it first party...

Yes. As the poster said, it's a souped up last gen title.

Trying to find that tweet where Kojima said they struggle with the old-gen versions because of limitation of the hardware.

Anyway back to The Order...
 
1. The game doesn't need to be 60FPS to be awesome, it's a TPS.
2. I'll take this level of fidelity over 60FPS ANY day of the week.

After playing TLOU:R I actually do think 60fps would benefit it, but I agree that I would gladly take this type of graphical achievement over a FR boost.

Can anybody please tell me if we can disable button prompts or it they are removed in harder difficulties?????

It would have been confirmed a while ago if it was already there. I hope they patch it in. I can imagine it being complicated though. They can't entirely do away with it in those branching QTEs or mashing scenarios. But removing them during full gameplay (such as stealth, doors, contextual dodge/counter, black water recovery) could be a reasonable compromise.

I don't wanna link the site as it has a video with the chapter selection screen in it and he goes through all chapters but it looks like 18 was wrong too?

This video says the game has
16
chapters.
