They prototyped an f2p version which isn't supposed to be in the final game.
I admit I haven't played the Just Cause series but Far Cry 3 and 4 are pretty enjoyable. The wingsuit and the environment immediately made me think of Far Cry. So I will be giving this a shot definitely.

I spent so much time playing JC2 with the Superman mod. It felt bad ass in the missions to be able to just take off flying dual-wielding rocket launchers and causing destruction. Love PC modding.

I platinum'd JC2 but I hope JC3 has A LOT more variety and be less repetitive than JC2, better driving and flying would be a plus.

Those are some lonely bullshots. I've always loved how lush Just Cause 2 was and now at least it's continuing with a visual upgrade. My favorite thing is to fly a chopper to max altitude, jump out, and try to catch it again with the grapple to jump inside and save it from crashing as best as possible. Coop that asap
Well yeah, it's the first time I hear that, they don't really link to anything, and it seems very very unlikely.

I think they are definitely console shots because Just Cause 2 on PC had better LOD/textures than that.
I really like the artstyle in those shots though.

Do they always do this with their games? By that I mean leak pics frequently and be really frank in their communication? I ask as it seems to be a really good and honest way of building hype.

That was the farthest thing from a trailer... Waste of time if you ask me to even show this, just show a game play trailer, and stop with the nonsense of these silly "trailers"... Bullshots look pretty good...
4 separate retractable grapple hooks = sold
wingsuit, parachute and landscapes looking crazy good = double sold.
I was, of course, already sold anyway. But still, it's lovely all the same. I can't wait.

But to answer your question,well, they've released so few games and so far apart, difficult to say if they "always do this".
(I mean talking about big AAA games, which is pretty much only Just Cause 1 and 2 up until now, since Mad Max is MIA at the moment, there's also Renegade Ops and their Hunter F2P series but it would be weird to compare the communication plans for those games).

What looks rough about if? What are people's exact expectation from the graphics of an open world game this gen on PS4/XBO?
Yeesh, add a few more jaggies and I'd guess this was from the PS3 version. Looks great as a tiny image, but at a larger size the textures are super muddy and the foliage looks really bad. Good thing they've got the better part of a year to go at it.

I'm not sure how much better it's going to look in the end. It seems like they're largely focusing on upping the destruction rather than making it a graphical showpiece. I wouldn't mind if it still looked like this if they pushed destruction forward.
I'm sure I won't mind so much when it's in motion, but geez that shot. I remember Just Cause 2 on PS3 looking better than that. At least the explosions are gorgeous.
