Xbox Live Ultimate Game Sale (Feb 18th - 24th)

whats DD: Dark Arisen like?

im debating whether i should get it or not.

dude You will not regret it. Honestly one of my favorite games off all time really. Just a joy to play through, great character customization and some epic boss encounters. Well worth the price. It also has this really cool feature called pawns where you can bring in other NPC's to help you alongside your adventure. great game, buy it.

I really believe now this "sale" was to offset the release of the Order. Once the word of the Order being a let down got out, MS thought maybe we can scale back on these sales. I wouldn't put it past MS doing something like this. It may be smart for business but as a consumer with multiple consoles you're not giving me a reason to turn your machine on. Especially when Sony has weekly sales. Can u believe some people thought a closed MS marketplace would be good for consumers?

Last year Ultimate Games sale was at the same time frame, so no?

It carried over on PS3 so I don't see why it wouldn't on 360, but I'm not 100% sure if that helps

Ummmmm....No

Ya know... I've seen a lot of strange and bizarre posts on this forum, but this is one of the strangest.

I bet you they sold a ton of Xbox Ones on a basis of a week long sale...! That dastardly Microsoft and their closed marketplace

Hold on, friend! I'd love to share with you some swell news about the Windows 8 Metro UI! Wait, where are you going?

Are these sales on Sony's open marketplace?

Wow, post backfire. Specially when someone pointed out that ultimate sale was on the same week last year.
Also last year sale was better. Good times with my 360.

I think he's referring to DRM with the closed marketplace comment? but even then, it wasn't exactly "closed" as retailers would still ship physical discs.. I don't even know. He's lost the plot I think.

So true! The march update as well. They're banking on Xbox fans to flood the Internet with Xbone screenshots so that they can drown out The Order's hype. You're not fooling us, Phil Spencer!

lol

Was it? Good memory I don't pay attention to when sales were last year, My bad then. I deserve the heckling everyone's given me.

Just didn't make sense for them to remove the LOTF sale and change the price on MCC, but I'll leave it at that.

Whenever I try to puchase Dark Arisen online, the price in cart is listed at $39.99, anyone have any idea what's up?

The prices went back to full price for the 360 weekend bits a few hours ago. They might reduce them again since there's still quite a bit of weekend left, keep an eye on it.

What are you on about? I snagged Trine 2, South Park, and the new Lara Croft game for 50% off each (60% off in Lara Croft's case).

Things were on sale. That's a fact. It's good to buy things at reduced prices. Why are you disputing this?

"Especially when Sony has weekly sales."

So does Microsoft?

I actually contacted support and purchased full price, but they're refunding me the difference to my account. I got it RIGHT on a razors edge though I guess, since the price was still listed at $13.19!

Thanks for the heads up tho.

If you've ever had even a passing interest in investigative games that have high production values, great voice acting, well realised locations and some fantastic twists and turns in each case, Sherlock is the game for you.

Sounds good to me. Watching a twitch broadcast right now.

You'll look back on this fondly, in a "what the fuck am I typing" kind of way.

I picked up the PS3 version a couple of months ago, still on the first case, but it is very much investigation driven, like what we wanted LA Noire to be.

Surely this kind of game is the last game you should watch on Twitch? You really don't want to spoil anything so I imagine a stream will pretty much ruin it when/if you play it yourself as you'll already know clues/who did X etc.

I have never heard of this game/series before. I am now considering it. Seriously >_>

Do it, I was very impressed and surprised by it. I bought it for £20~ thinking it was be pretty average one of those licensed things thats ok but not really living up to its potential and my word, I was shocked

So good.

Just completed the first case in Sherlock and really enjoyed it, far better than I expected. I wouldn't have picked it up but for recommendations in here so thanks to everyone who suggested buying it.

Sherlock Holmes is $30 on the Canadian store... $40 at retail at amazon.ca. All the praise (especially from Miles Quaritch) from the past week has placed this game on my radar but I can't justify spending $30 on a digital game that is available at retail. I'd rather spend the extra $10 to get the disc.

What?? I was going to grab a license. The weekend isn't even over yet!

Edit: Odd as it's still listed at 75% off on the Game Sale page. Oh well I snagged State of Decay incase the up the price.

Okay, heads up to everyone.

On the Canadian store on XB1, if you go to the Store and search for Sherlock, it shows up as $30.

But if you instead click on the "Gold" tile on XB1 (that's the tile directly to the right of the disc tab), then you can find Sherlock Holmes for only $24.

So... I went ahead and bought it for $24. Thanks Steverulez, Miles Quaritch, and whoever else flooded the thread with good impressions.

Purchased Sniper Elite III and Sherlock Holmes from the impressions I read in here and don't regret either. £28 well spent I reckon.

Buy it, you will not regret it. Easily one of the most underrated games released last year.

Nice to see more and more people giving it a shot. As truly mentioned, it really is the game that LA Noire should have been in terms of investigating crime scenes and putting all the clues/pieces of evidence together.

Better be good. Just bought this dammit.

It's great, I'm positive you won't end up disappointed.

So Lords of the fallen wasn't listed? That's shit. Gutted I missed that

It was on sale for a few hours and then removed, so you had to pretty much get it within the first few hours the sale went live. MS later claimed it was a mistake and the game shouldn't have been sale.

I'm really enjoying it though, glad I got it on sale as I'm not sure I would have ever paid more than £10 for it.
