Nintendo teases. Masks for Zelda WiiU? Another Majora style game? What could this be?

He was in Ocarina of Time, too. Could just be a mask trading quest, so something that might not necessarily be about Majora's Mask.

Maybe Zelda Wii U IS Majora's Mask 2. That's why no title yet, and that's why they released MM3D now as opposed to 2012, 2013 or 2014.

Ah ffs. I forgot about Hyrule Warriors....

That's what the teasing is all about most probably. Man, what a downer.
I doubt it since he said he's got new masks. It would be weird to introduce new masks in Hyrule Warriors considering it's a fan service game that uses previous games' weapons/items.

...great minds

though what was your idea for a Shulk mask

Shit.

Imagine a Majora Mask style game where you are given visions of possible futures and your actions will deterimine what to do, but like all good visions
lol Raiden
they won't exactly show what'd happen.

Who knows! But I don't think that's the reason for the lack of a title. It's not unusual for new 3D Zelda titles to lack titles until closer to release.

Twilight Princess - 2005
Released 2006.

Skyward Sword - 2010
Released 2011.

Unless Zelda U is 2016.

There is no way Nintendo would officially tease a third Zelda game out of the two slated for the year. This probably relates to one of the two releasing this year.

... there's Zelda U and... what am I missing?

I imagine we'll just be seeing the mask salesman in Zelda U (he was in Skyward Sword too after all) with some new wearable masks. Exciting stuff.

I wouldn't take this as a hint towards a new game at all though, or for any returning mechanics from Majora other than masks.

Because it came out on the same day of the new 3ds.
N3DS is an update to an existing system that's not hurting for available software. I doubt that has anything to do with it.

The point is, if the three-day system was so difficult for people like the person claimed, it's clearly not impacting the game's positive word of mouth, and thus sales.

Zelda U will clearly be the Origin story of Majora vs Fierce Deity with the Link we've seen being the Feirce Deity

I sorta want this to happen

Conaiding that the 3ds sold almost 400000 last month which most of those were n3ds I going to say it was a big reason.

I'll take a guess and say this is nothing. Maybe we'll see a few references in Zelda U, but that's about it.

Happy mask salesman is the Gman of the zelda universe. Would be really glad if he came back somehow.
Would be fun if they made the MM manga canon for him

Majora's Mask sold well when it first released. The game selling well has nothing to do with whether or not casual audiences find it too difficult. But there's a reason why it's labeled the "controversial" zelda, and that's reason enough for them to not experiment with anything similar in the future.

Come on now. At least ALBW had no tutorials at all.

That's because the game was so simplistic that there was nothing to teach. If that's where the future of Zelda is headed, I am very concerned.

Wow... the Mask Salesman comes back for Zelda U to throw a wrench into Links next adventure? Or...maybe just more fun mask side questy goodness? Either way I love all the in game ties to Majora's Mask. I secretly hope Skull kid makes a cameo however unlikely.

I would be okay with Happy Mask Salesman being an antagonist in a game, he got that Wandering Jew/Randall Flagg/ Timeless evil vibe going on.

This game is a remake. People were already familiar with how tough it is.

Yet it's still the fastest-selling handheld Zelda in the U.S.

No Zelda achieves that on the strength of core gamers alone.

I think that would kind of undermine the "happiness" angle he took in Majora's Mask. Doesn't strike me as the Randall Flagg type at all.

I'm not worried about the bloat and tedium in portable Zelda games. But hey, I'm all for Nintendo bucking a decade long trend of meandering intros and vacuous filler in console Zelda games. Not that the footage of the new game gives me a lot of optimism, if you hadn't guessed.

So the mask salesman will appear in the new zelda.

Just so I can hop on the hyperbole train, majoras mask 2, 3, and majoras revenge confirmed

The Legend of Zelda: Hero of Time.

A fitting end to the trilogy where Ganondorf breaks his seal and acquires Majoras mask and threatens Hyrule and termina.

I would be dead cause I would already be in heaven if MM2 was announced.
Playing MM3D made me really want a MM2. The idea is so good but nobody has done it before.
I don't think I'd want another 3 day cycle thing, but a 24 hour cycle with Masks could work on any Zelda game

Why now?
What are those recent appearances they are talking about?
Havn't see anything official outside MM3D.

At the very least it means he will be in Zelda U. But then again, why now? Maybe a tease for a next Nintendo Direct, with Zelda info.

Edit: Also, very nope on Hyrule Warriors. Last DLC trailer even stated clearly it was the last one.
