NextGen Wheels peripherals PS4 and Xbox One Thread: NeoGaf Wheel Club Updates in OP

So ive got a PS4 and a T500 so thats that..but eventually im going to hve to get an Xbone because im not going to be able to miss the next FM...

Problem is, I'm really just refusing to buy another wheel for the Xbone...and I don't want to play with a controller like I did for Forza on the 360...

So are there any viable adapters AT ALL to make the T500 function on the Xbone? I know it's sacrilege, but I'm willing to give up force feedback and the full rotation of of the wheel as long as it would function as a wheel..it will still be better than a controller...

Not as far as I know... But since you're now part of the Thrustmaster ecosystem, you could always try to find a used TX base online and you could use all your accessories and rims with it... Might be a though find but anyway.

So with the incoming release of Project CARS and F1 2015 and since my hopes of having Logitech old wheels supported on PS4 died, I'm now starting to look around at the available options for PS4 which is not a pretty sighting.

I have a Logitech Driving Force GT + Wheel Stand Pro, so what are my best options for the future?

Is the T100 a completely worthless investment or should I look more on the T300 Ferrari GTE vs T300 RS range? Is the difference only the visual aspect and PS specific buttons?
Is the T100 and both T300 compatible with the Wheel Stand Pro that I already have? Nothing on the horizon that could fill the gap left open by the DFGT (medium quality with good price)?

Don't know which is worst, the possibility of playing sim racing games with a controller or having to spend a lot of cash for another wheel...

Thanks for the help.

There are plenty of ways, but they have some limitations. The limitations might not be an issue by the time FM6 comes, but we'll have to see. Take a look at some of my previous posts for sample videos, not going to repost them because the prima donnas tend to get a little worked up over the idea of non-official peripheral use.

Don't tell them I told you about the adapters.

Cheers

Even if this were possible, which it likely isn't, there would be a ton of input lag.

A ton seems like an overstatement. It's only going to be on your local network, and if your hardwired it shouldn't be that bad.

As for it not working, wouldn't that require them to make it so you can only use a XB1 controller while streaming your games to pc? And if they did wouldn't a software solution to get around it be easier since it's on a pc?

Mmmm... interesting.

Still hoping for a solution that will let me use my Fanatec with PS4 and Bone. Am I wishing my life away..?

life is yours to do as you want my friend, but you already missed forza 5, horizon 2 and forza 6 is coming right up :)

They said they were going to show it at the end of March around the time PCars was supposed to be originally releasing.

Well there you go!

I feel for you my Fanatec friends... The whole situation sucks.

I'm so liberated now that I finally escapped the hold of this evil company.

Sony and Microsoft are the evil ones - they could easily allow legacy wheel compatibility if they wanted to.

I feel sorry for Fanatec, to be honest. They've been unlube deep-dicked as violently as their customers have.

Edit:

Game-fucking-changer.

So my Fanatec GT2 & Clubsport pedal combo will work on pCARS PS4?

H O L Y S H I T.

Purchase incoming.

HOLY. SHIT.

New thread worthy.

Well yeah as far as compatibility goes it's all Sony and MS fault I agree... I'm more talking about the terrible build quality and attrocious service I've had to deal with during my years using Fanatec products.

WOO!!!! My GT3 RS V2 and CS pedals will live on the PS4

For Project CARS only right now... This will still be on a game to game basis. Not that there's that many games you'd want to play with a steering wheel on the PS4. Nothing other than pCARS until GT7 in like 3 years lol

That's true, but the requirement for "security chip" excuse can go down the drain now. It's up to DEVS to support them and if they don't they will just be known as LAZY DEVS :p

Yeah, at least it is something. I wasnt expecting anything until GT7 and by then may have moved on to another setup.

My Logitech G27 continues to weep. Still holding strong and not buying Driveclub, would be depressing with a controller after years with the G27.

To be honest, at this point the G25/27 are old wheels and they haven't been supported by Logitech for years. It's not really surprising that nothing new is happening.

People need to move on.

I get that buying a new wheel is a lot of money but there are so many much much better wheels than the G25/27 out there nowadays.

Can someone explain what the cheapest Fanatec item is that could potentially have me playing a next-gen game with a wheel? I see the Fanatec/Project CARS announcement and went to the Fanatec site to see what they had available, but I have no idea what comes with what or what is just a wheel base and requires a separate rim/pedals/whatever. The GT3 RS V2 says it's $179.99 but I have no idea if that comes with pedals or a rim, and all the rim options themselves are $300+.

Part of me thinks I'm just going to stay away from wheels this gen because Fanatec being supported by ONE GAME is still fucking ridiculous to me when I have two steering wheels that don't work on PS4 or Xbox One, but if I can get into a Fanatec wheel for relatively cheap I would at least keep it in mind if other games start supporting them.

I know it was something like that, but now you can get PS4 :).

Now we can pressure Logitech to give drivers to Developers.

Didn't Logitech closed their wheels department?

I would love to save money on getting a new wheel but I'm not waiting for anything about Logitech unfortunately. Already looking at the T300 RS and their shitty pedals...

Yes and the G27 came out 5 years ago now... It's ancient in technology time.

I'm happy for the guys that found some relief!

I'd be great justice if the roles became reversed and Logi piggybacked Fanatec on the PS4. Don't hold your breath however!

Wheels from 2000 work on GT6 for example.. these shouldn't be a thing you have to change every 3 years. Come on Logitech make millons of users happy

GT6 is basically an updated version of GT5 which came out in 2010...

I bet that those wheels won't be supported in GT7.

My first Fanatec wheel was Turbo S, and i got it in July 2009, and it's supported by PCARS. So the technology might be old but it's still useful, so there is no way that G27 shouldn't work. Only thing that is stopping G27 are the drivers.

Of course it's a driver issue and Logitech stopped caring a long time ago.

Happy to see some more wheels supported on new consoles but I am still a G27 pleeb :( I know you get what you pay for, but I cannot drop $500 + on a new wheel these days.
