Great direct in my opinion.
Pros:
-Smash Hype lives again
-Nintendo pretends they didn't forget about Wii U VC again (will promptly forget it exists next month)
-Fire Emblem x SMT is Fire Emblem x Persona, praise the lord
-Mario Kart 8 DLC comes early, also more content than expected
-Rhythym Heaven in June in Japan
-Amiibos on Amiibos on Amiibos
-Yarn Yoshi still exists
Cons:
-Mario Maker still has absolutely nothing that appeals to me
-Splatoon's showing was kinda...eh. I'm worried it'll be lacking modes and this really didn't help to qualm these fears
-FE:if being divided into two seems dumb.

Those different seasons of the AC MK8 track look like more than a basic face lift. It looks more like having to design the outside track 4 times. Probably took some effort.

Now I just want to see the other tracks.

I went into this direct with expectations at the floor after that last Nintendo Direct burned me hard. All I wanted this time was a Mewtwo trailer.

I got my Mewtwo trailer. And Smash DLC is real. Its happening. With Lucas. And suggestions.

Smash DLC IS HAPPENING.

AND THERE'S YOSHI AMIIBOS MADE OUT OF YARN.

I am so pumped.

Solid direct. I'm super pumped for 200cc mode. They sure as hell know how to keep me playing that game...

SMTxFE and Fatal Frame localization both having pulses doesn't hurt. Already paid the $2 to upgrade my Mario 64 (waiting on kart and f-zero).

This has probably been asked, but is the Splatoon treehouse segment available for replay anywhere? Didn't see anything on Nintendo's site, youtube, or twitch...

I'm looking forward to Splatoon, but eh kinda still looking a little light on content (unless there's still much more to be revealed. Two online modes? Ehh.. Is this expected to be a $60 game, or are the cheaper prices that have been seen in Europe indicative of a possible U.S. $40 or $50 MSRP...

Hey, I got Bingo twice! ... It would have been 3 times had I not actually put that Bowser U game on there. I knew it was fake, but I was hoping!

Man, this Direct really killed it! Lucas was the biggest thing for me, but the other Smash DLC (I legitimately expected everything to stop after Mewtwo... And now you're telling me I can make a custom Proto Man?) MK8 stuff (I can't believe it's coming out early, and 200 CC looks intense!), Woolly World, and Fire Emblem are all pretty fantastic. FExSMT looks genericly anime-ish, but I'll definitely give it a look, and FEif's looking like a Day 1 already!

And, of course, we're finally getting N64 and DS VC games! I expected them awhile ago, but I gave up hope a few years back. Hopefully the library picks up pretty quickly!

Did not get to see the direct but looked on nintendo everything with a co-worker. Man... When nintendo does it right... they go beyond right. i gotta ask how was GAF during all this?

You're going to be really disappointed if you get together to play Splatoon multi. It's primarily an online game. The only local mode is 1v1.

Between the online focus and the single player campaign, I'm not sure where you're getting that it's a party game.

Ah ok, well then I have even less interest in it.

Can we talk about the box art for Yoshi's Woolly World?

This has to be the most adorable box art I've ever seen

An the fact that Bowser Jr. will appear makes it even more charming and cute! Now i'm 100% hyped for thi game. And that damn yarn yoshi amiibo wich is also the coolest thing.

Some thought it was fake at first lol. Lot of fans hyped, but honestly, I don't think Nintendo has gaf-crashing hyped conferences any more. I love Nintendo titles, but this direct really didn't appeal to me. Scared to even ask what everyone is so excited about lol.

I was pleased about all the N64 and DS stuff on the store which solidifies my WiiU purchase at some point. Good Indy support now as well. I dunno, the amiboo stuff, being super hyped about MK DLC, yeah, definitely am not gung-ho for Ninty's stuff anymore. DBZ looked cool and SMTXFire Emblem

Just going over the developers of the current projects so far
Woolly World - Good-Feel
Splatoon - EAD2
Mario Maker - EAD4
Fire Emblem If - Intelligent Systems
Xenoblade 3D - Monster Games
Xenoblade X - Monolith Soft
SMTXFE - Atlus & SPD2 (or 1 now since the restructure)

Rhythm Heaven The Best+ - Sakamoto's group?
Mario kart 8 DLC & Updates - probably a small group of EAD1 people
Smash - probably a small amount of Bandai Namco guys
Battleground Z - Good-Feel
Ultimate Angler - Prope
Pokemon Rumble World - Ambrella
Animal Crossing: HHD - Probably a small portion of EAD2, or at least produced by them

anything I missed besides localizations

Man the Smash DLC with "more to come" slapped near it was all i needed to get me hyped,.

Why are strippers at the U.N. bad when they're great at strip clubs???

I'd like to know too :(

Iwata says Nintendo will be exploring more ways to celebrate SMB's 30th.

Wonder what they will do.

Sunshine or Mario Galaxy Collection HD

So, my predictions for the rest of the year:

May - Kirby, Splatoon
June - Yoshi
July -
August - Devil's Third
September - Mario Maker
October - Fatal Frame, Xenoblade
November - Star Fox
December - Animal Crossing

I could see Devil's Third joining another game and releasing Sept-Nov, but that'd leave two months empty, or even three for NA seeing they're getting Yoshi later.

I still think we're going to get Animal Crossing. Especially seeing as Mario Maker is all the way in September. They're going to have one major brand out for Christmas.

I'm curious if Devil's Third is really an August game seeing as they havn't mentioned it at all.

I guess they never really 'mentioned' it so-to-speak.

Yeah, I just can't see anything else releasing then. Maybe the Xenoblade localisation could be quicker than expected.

Or maybe the development schedule will get fucked and we'll have three months of nothing, then three games in three weeks.

This direct delivered for me.

-Splatoon release date w/amiibos
-Mario Kart 8 DLC with 200cc!!
-Fatal Frame localization
-New trailers and info for Yoshi and Mario Maker
-Yoshi Yarn amiibo is adorable
-New Mii plaza games
-N64 V.C. (finally)

-A packed Pre-E3 direct that has me excited for what's to come at E3

Finally watched the Direct. It was fantastic this time.

I have to say I'm most excited for 200 CC. God I love Mario Kart and this looks even more skill-based than 150 CC. I am really excited.

Also, so many new amiibo! The Yoshi plush ones are so cute! I really like all these new form factors they're exploring.

I guess I have to offer at least a little criticism, though. I'm not comfortable with free-to-play games in general, so Pokemon Rumble World was a little concerning. Also, charging for more Mii costumes in Smash kind of killed my interest in them; not really a fan of microtransactions either.

That said, I do appreciate real expansion packs, like the Mario Kart DLC and smaller new full games like the new Street Pass Mii Plaza games.

So anyway, again, I was super pleased with this Nintendo Direct. Really good stuff all around.

Wow, that was a pretty horrible Direct. No Zelda whatsoever? Nintendo continues to despise their fans.

You really expected Zelda when they just said they weren't even going to show it at E3?

It's exactly because they said they wouldn't show it at E3 that I thought they'd give us a pittance today.

Watching that AC DLC trailer really makes me want a full-fledged completely 3D AC game, where the buildings and landscape is scaled to realistic size, and you can explore every nook and corner in a up close behind the back camera that follows the player as they moce around the town.

This is some excellent reverse logic.

This is a joke, right?

As long as you understand you're doing this to yourself.

You guys know that Nintendo's shown Zelda trailers at events like GDC right? It wouldn't be out of the question.

Still, surprised to see so many alleged Nintendo fans here actually seem to support the idea of Nintendo not releasing a new trailer.

You have some weird idea that anyone likes not getting info about the game.

I would love to have a demo, much less a trailer but when they can't even guarantee a 2015 release or anything at E3 despite the Wii U dying a slow pitiful death, it doesn't inspire any expectation or confidence of getting anything substantial for months.

You were told to expect nothing and took that to mean expect something.

What does being a fan have to do with anything? I hardly gave a shit about anything Nintendo showed today. Those times Nintendo showed Zelda trailers at places other than E3, they still showed the game at E3. This time, they specifically said they were not, so it's not unreasonable to expect not to hear anything else about Zelda until after E3. Just because some people realized that Nintendo probably doesn't want to show Zelda anytime soon does not mean they "support the idea of Nintendo not releasing a new trailer." That's not even remotely the same.

Did someone say reverse logic?

So much good stuff with Nintendo today. Very pleased with today's announcements. Most of them were expected. MK8 just got 100% more awesome with the 200cc feature and the AC course looks AND SOUNDS glorious. But the good thing is that we're just 2 months away of E3 so now that all the info of games we already know are out of the way, Nintendo will fully focus on drop true megatons at E3 with Starfox, Retro's new game and more.
