Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.

Imagine being the software engineers that wasted all that time on Fox Engine.

You get a couple games out on it, and then... nope, this company don't make videogames no more.

This project never really got off the ground, so no.

The actual production didn't, but we don't know where things might have been in pre-production and that part can cost its fair share. And there was definitely pre-production work done in some capacity.

Edit: Not to mention how much P.T. cost to develop despite its small size.

Let's be honest, does anyone think the game would have been half of what it could have been without Kojima steering it?

It's sad but the game was already dead to me the second Kojima got kicked out.

I wanted to dominate the living room. Then I took an ESRAM in the knee.
Konami just shot themselves in the foot.

With a rocket launcher.

As a horror fan and a SH fan this news is pretty heartbreaking. PT was one of the most atmospheric, unique and terrifying horror experiences in recent memory.

Such a shame things had to end up this way.

Who knows maybe Sony will show interest in the concept outside of the Silent Hill name and try and keep it alive via Studio Japan… doubtful though. The dream is dead.

What the fuck is going on at Konami? They fired their only golden goose and on top of the fact that there's no way a Kojima-less MGS will carry them, they just lost what could have been the greatest video game reboot of all time. What else do they have? It's over. They don't even have Tak Fuji anymore. The dream is dead and Konami will die with it.

Maybe Guillermo del Toro means that he and Kojima will not be involved in the final project and not that the game is completly canceled...

What can I say...

In this gaming generation if i allow myself to get hyped with something, it either gets delayed or it gets canceled... :(

P.T. seemed like the biggest and most successful new thing to come out of Japan for the traditional console space... since Demon's Souls? Such a shame to see them throw all that goodwill and attention away. I mean, it even had me captivated, and I hate horror.

They Team Silented Kojima productions. What did you expect?

Of course they'd Team Silent Silent Hill before it even got off the ground.

Would be awesome if they're willing to invest in a spiritual successor. They already have an amazing Lovecraftian classic with Bloodborne, why not go the extra mile?

One thing's for sure. I'm never deleting that PT concept demo from my PS4.

Fingers crossed it doesn't brick at some point.

In a perfect world they would approach Kojima and Del Toro with the idea of setting up a team within SJ to continue work on the idea. Could even work as a smaller scale Morpheus game. I doubt this will happen though. Everyone involved is probably pretty burnt out at this point. Has to be disheartening for so much work to get axed.

Feel bad for Del Toro. Dude seems to really want to be involved in the creation of a video game, and every time he tries, the company he partners with fucks it all up.

It sucks, but not surprising. They should sell the IP to Sony (Japan Studio) or someone else who appreciates and knows how to do proper horror games.

Japan Studio would be nice since Toyama wrote and directed the first Silent Hill, so it would kind of be going home.

To all the people saying "I'm not gonna buy MGS5" please don't kid yourself. You are gonna buy it sooner or later.

Konami is a hollow shell of what it use to be. Silent Hills was probably the first Konami game that had me interested in a while with the combination of Kojima, Toro, and Reedus. Now that it's not happening, we can finally move on.

Not in a way that would give any money to Konami I won't. I'll play it sure but won't buy it new, they do not deserve my money for this level of bullshit.

I wonder if Sony or someone can set Kojima up with a new studio (non-compete?). We might still get "Silent Hills" in everything but name.
