Thank you Konami

So P.T was just a tease for nothing? WTF?
Konami is really in a hole it seems. I dont expect nothing from them after MGSV.

No... it now exists as a limited time, amazingly well made example of what interactive horror can be. The social aspect of trying to figure it out occuring naturally.

A free experience that we are all richer for having experienced.

I know many of you guys would like to see kojima to join Sony and collab with Toyoma and make a next gen siren or PT like game, but I'm also interested to see how a Kojima Syphon Filter game would be like.

That's actually not that uncommon to see with a lot of notable figures in that industry. I think it's just a bit more noticeable in his case since, iirc, he does a lot of his own concept work.
I know, but he is like one of the worst doing that kind of thing. I love how the man has all this great ideas to think inside his head, but please, only show them when you really think you are going to make them (i know one or two can screw over at the end, thats normal, but with him is just too much).

For me, it's always like this.jpeg

As a Silent Hill fan I knew it was too good to be true. Del Toro? Fox Engine? Silent Hill? Obviously not the right universe for such luck. Fucking multiverse.

If I were a stockholder, I would vote to can every single officer and upper-level manager. Every single one. If we could even find them; I assume they've all disappeared so far up their own assholes that they now live on some other plane of existence. What a shit show.

I knew PT was WAY too good to actually come to fruition. ;_;

The only shred of hope I have is maybe Sony will somehow revive this. Wasn't the reveal a pretty big part of one of the conferences last year? Maybe they'll realize how much this would've pushed systems, and.......

"It's dead, Jim."

Getting people hyped up about a product and then cancelling it is beyond fucking disgraceful. At this point I'll be borrowing The Phantom Pain from a friend.

double jump

you haven't lived until a random little kid ask you "how do you make love".
Dear Konami,

I hope all the bad things in life happen to you and only you.

Yours truly,

Double Jump

edit: the incoming youtube rants will be legendary.

This project made me care about Silent Hill again for the first time in a long time. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if Konami sold off it's I.P and shifted out of the gaming industry.

Ark it'd be cheaper to buy the PC ports for 2 and 3... eBay and Amazon both for less than the console.

But then again, the PS2 disc on a CRT display is sublime.

Surely Del Toro could just sign up to do something with Kojima wherever he lands next? I mean I know it would have been silent hill, but at the same time does that even matter? I'm certain these two can dream up something much more horrific anyway. Considering all the crap Konami caused, I'm not even sure I'd have been happy giving them my money in the first place.

The sad thing is they're taking P.T off the PSstore.

They're depriving people even of this fine experience.

Heck I wouldn't mind if they wanna charge some for it ,but don't just make it disappear like it nothing ever happened.

Probably wasn't going to happen even with Kojima there.

How do you sit on such a great idea and then can it? It's like a 'what if?' scenario. What if Mario was never made because they hired some guy to make a soccer game? In terms of IPs being developed. This was their only shot at fixing a franchise inside their corporation.

How could you go to a board meeting at Konami and not be somehow ashamed? I would be sweating profusely. Imagine saying something like, "let's bring Contra to iOS again!''.

Well the Hills have been Silenced alright. Fuck Konami, I know this was inevitable with the Kojima fallout, but that doesn;t make it any easier.

The tragic joke here is that P.T. was one of the best thing to happen to Konami and video games in general in the last few years. Instant brand recognition (P.T., not Silent Hills) with just a hallway.

Despite my hate for Konamis handling of this, I'm inclined to agree.

Beyond P.T being awesome, I have doubts that Del Toro or Kojima would have seen the project through for some reason. At least not in the way that most would have expected.

Surely Del Toro could just sign up to do something with Kojima wherever he lands next? I mean I know it would have been silent hill, but at the same time does that even matter? I'm certain these two can dream up something much more horrific anyway.

The problem with this is ANYTHING in terms of planning and design they'd already worked out for the P.T / Silent Hills concept would have to be scrapped as I imagine Konami would contractually own them due to being produced on their dime

These guys act like their bank accounts are all empty. If any of them wanted it to happen then they would have done something about it sooner, unless this is a major PR stunt. All these things to work around while lots of developers get whoever they want on board when the $ money $ is being poured in.

It's not all about money. There are so many hoops to clear to get a Hollywood-caliber film director involved in a project whether it's a film or game. Scheduling conflicts, payment, contracts, travel, producers, budgets, scripts... all of it takes time to negotiate and so many things have to go right and everyone has to be satisfied. This is why so many films end up in development hell. One piece falling through can jeopardise the whole project.
