Y'know, I kinda had inkling about this spoiler with
the character creator...
Anime style or not, the eyes just looked so damn anime-robotic with the use of a bunch or circles around the pupil and in the iris.

Kinda more spoilers on the subject:
It works like Avatar right? I'm guessing the rescue missions work where you get/activate the bodies and that lets the people transfer into them.

That's pretty freaking meta right there.

Makes the online implementation brilliant IMO.

I really want a new Wii U game and visually this looks great but I just don't know about the combat. I played Xenoblade on the Wii and didn't like it very much, never played it more than about 3-4 hours.

It seems every human in NLA is actually a host robot, being remotely controlled from the Life Units. Think how Surrogate, Avatar, and even Ghost in the Shell had characters control their "bodies" through a safe place.

Wut!? Why did I read this, lol. Tell me more.

So, the characters are actually dolls, lol. Now no one can complain about them looking like dolls.

So wait:
when you rescue people in the Life Pods, are you actually rescuing real people, or robots? WHERE ARE THE PEOPLE

The people are all on/in NLA, you're rescuing their, effectively, nueral linked bodies out in the field. NLA doesn't have the resources or manpower to spit out endless new bodies (it may not even be possible as a body may well be uniquely linked to a host) and so you're off recovering them.

The total destruction of the host body likely, setting game mechanics aside, results in permanent death of the host as we can see from the pain recoil when your arm gets blown clean off. If your body gets shredded, the feedback would kill you.

Built in late game expectations:
I think its fairly evident to say that something about the player character is wrong. Fundamentally he doesn't work as per the system that everyone else expects, which leads me to believe that they are either an "Iron Giant" type unit (look it up) that has forgotten its purpose or that you are a disembodied human in a robot body in totality and that body is effectively your real body.

So in reality the player is possibly the ultimate mech, excellent excellent.

I'm in too deep now. Time to fish for more spoilers.

nerd in myself is screaming of joy with this plot. It's better than anything I could imagine.
In fact, the fact that I cant even imagine the ending is what makes me even more excited haha

How is the story? Not expecting much since it's a video game, but it'd be nice if it was decent.
If you like Sci-Fi, Philosophy and a deep plot, you will have your mind blown. But try to keep spoiler free I'd say.
Takahashi must be home laughing at everyone saying this game would have a weaker plot than xenoblade lol

Ehhhh, the 2 GIGs are really well done, specially the first one. The second movie and specially Arise are weaker, but still good.

So does that mean Lu is the only who is actually in danger during all of this lol
And Tatsu lol
Now everything makes so much sense,
that long jump, the no fall damage, everything.
Fuck, re-watching the last story trailer is now sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo great.

It's just not fair! I want this game right now!

I guess The Witcher 3 and The Elder Scrolls Online will have to tide me over til this Game of the Year comes to North America!

No. You're still in danger, if your surrogate dies (possibly before clear activation), seemingly so do you. Otherwise the dead explorers or pod-people wouldn't matter and what reason would we have for being in a hurry to find them?

That's true, but the robotic bodies seem to be able to receive substantial damage, Cross losing an arm and easily replacing it, something I doubt Lu would be able to do.

The world is completely open and seamless. You can fly anywhere. There was footage in the Doll Direct of people flying their skells all around NLA. But I didn't see them fly out. I have seen someone drive from the field staight into NLA in their mech and it was seamless. The only building I've seen load times to enter is the BLADE home.

I'm fairly certain you'll be able to fly in and out of NLA though. We just don't know because none of the streamers have gotten their flight gear yet.

Thanks man.. Sounds beyond awesome.

I am really happy to see some of you really getting into this story. I'm only getting bits and pieces so i cant really follow it too well. But it's really exciting to see that the story will be stronger than expected.

Oblivia is the desert-like continent
Noctilum is the dense forest one.
Primordia is the first one where NLA is located.

Gotcha okay. I saw a little bit of someone playing in the desert, so I should probably avoid that one. xD

Xenoblade X² for NX, holiday 2020, mark my words! /s

Listen, I'd love nothing more than if Xenoblade became a true RPG franchise for Nintendo. We'll see how XCX does.
:-\

The story is sounding intriguing from these spoilers. Hopefully it's Xenogears quality.

Too bad the music isn't. What the hell were Takahashi and Sawano thinking ?

its funny how what could be considered such a huge spoilers happens so early in the game, I wonder what else will be waiting near the end? Xenoblade Chronichles Spoilers (Not X)
Kind of like how the first big "revea" was that the faces could talk, then followed by that they were people, hen EVERYTHING thereafter.

In addition to what Zero said, Sylvalum is the continent that looks "snowy/ashy" and Cauldros is the lava wilderness with metallic structures. I've seen streams get as far as Syvalum but nobody I watched got to Cauldros yet (It's the only continent you can't get to directly from Primordia where you start out).

Well you could say that the XCX big "spoiler" at the beginning is that the earth is blown off heh
Fiora who? The fucking earth blew off!

I wonder what Monolith Soft will make after Xenocross. Well be what it may be, I surely wont be for the WiiU :p
I think they are a important piece to Nintendo software development team, regardless of how their games sell. Their games are often the most impressive ones on the platform, and we are talking about a company that funded Bayonetta 2.

I'd love that...so very much.
I'll be happy if there's at least ONE more Xenoblade game, balance out the fact 3 FF13 games were made.
