The Witcher 3 PS4 gameplay

yep I even relived my favourite Morrowind moment there. Some baron invited Geralt for investigation and trying to find clues I looked that baron and guards looked other ways and just stole all the silverware from the cabinets lol. I was desperate :D

and you can't just steal everything you'd like. I dunno what would happen if you do tho.

So, let me ask you this, since you're already stealing stuff lol.

Are stolen objects flagged as such and can only be sold to certain merchants (fence) or you can sell them to anyone?

It always seemed unrealistic to me that merchants would know or even care if an item was stolen or not in the ye olden days lol.

:trying to stay calm and wait until I can play it:

That sounds great, iirc there was a scene in Gophers video showing that storm in the distance.

You can't really see it in this picture but the left has all this nice sunny view while right was full with dark clouds and lightning, more dark clouds and lightning already happening more to the right wich you cant see in this picture

"If it ain't nailed down it's going into my pockets", good old RPG saying that I just made up.

Managed to take stuff that doesn't belong to you in front of e.g. guards? Seen some footage that suggests that if you steal when guard is watching you are going to get killed.

This will be my first Witcher game and I have a few questions:

Like in Final fantasy, when I play those games I always try to do everytnig to find loot and secret weapons that are awesome and overpowered.

in Witcher 3, is that kind of stuff available?

I am sitting here wondering how I should play the game. focus on story first, complete the game and then do side quests etc to find awesome weapons, or if I should do that first so I can get overpowered before I continue with the story...

I am also a LVL up kind of guy, I can sit for hours and hours to just reach the cap lvl before I move on with the story stuff.

Witcher 3 will have a lot of loot to be found from all over the world, during and outside of doing quests. Here is small gallery showing off stats of the some gear you can find and/or craft during your adventures, from last nights IGN stream; http://imgur.com/a/QxUv2#0

The way I understood an article about weapons, those scale down to your level and remain there. Let's say you find a level 10 sword but you're level 8, the sword scales down for you to use but is unable to scale back up. I'm not sure if it's optional but I doubt that.

Also, one of the reviews said that due to the vast amount of side quests, they were constantly over levelled.

Can´t wait to get my hands on some of these crazy good weapons. Good to know that there is a lot of weapons and that you can craft them yourself as well.

Its always saves for me after finishing a quest but you're right, no auto-save in the wild you need to go to a fast travel point or enter a village for auto-save. (Notification at the start tells you to save often in the wild so you don't loss progress).

Hold the phone - it doesn't auto-save when you pick up loot, for example?

Holy shit.. WHY

Read up on item scaling in here, clarifies on few points about it, http://www.reddit.com/r/witcher/comments/33feo5/clarification_on_item_scaling_by_damien_monnier/

Also this long interview has segment about item scaling and they talk about it, how it works; http://www.gamertagradio.com/2015/0...er-3-wild-hunt-interview-with-cd-projekt-red/

When it comes to over leveling I would say that start game on Hard and see how it feels. On Hard you get less XP from doing quests so you don't over level content so easily.

Sorry i can't read up on all this while at work but do enemies scale or no? I loved how in Morrowind you could try to go into an area with super tough enemies and see if you can survive, etc.

Also, on the topic of stealing stuff, does it also work like in the Elder Scrolls games? Sorry if these have been answered.

hopefully the "mega epic" gear he is talking about is not something you get during the end game. I want to explore and take chances to get some awesome rewards early on :)

But should auto save trigger each time you pick up spoon and place it in your inventory? That to me sounds too extensive, but then I do use F5 a lot in TW2 etc.

I'm not saying it should necessarily be that often so much as commenting on the suggestion that auto-saves on a regular basis are somehow "hand holding".

Personally, unless there's a convenient quicksave button (which I assume there isn't on consoles), I prefer maybe a 5 minute window between auto-saves, though it depends some on the game. Since this apparently doesn't have a lot of loading into new areas, they can't tie autosaves to that like many open-world games do.

Convenient and regular saving is not "hand holding", it's good design.

For me it is just as bad as save scumming and takes a way a lot of the risk of exploring new places. It adds a layer of frustration, certainly, but it also encourages the player to adapt his playstyle and be more cautious for the dangers of the world. As it should be.

I can't decide whether to get the PC version or the PS4 version. I might wait for comparison vids before I make my final choice, I'm fussy like that :L

My PC has a GTX 670 and an i7 3770k so it will run okay, but for something 100+ hours long I kind of want to be able to play it in bed idk. Decisions decisions.

Cant decide if I should preorder the Xbox one Or PS4 version?
Any reason why I should go with one over the other or no?

PS4 runs game at 1080p where X1 uses dynamic scaling from 900p to 1080p, meaning that at some places game run in 1080p and in others 900p. It can even swap between resolution many times during single same scene, depending on load on system.

I would pick PS4 copy just because of that.

Actually, the only nice thing about that is that it will take up less space on your console drive and be finished downloading in half of the time. Aside from that, I don't understand how you can't see that's far worse in every possible way.

Hell, Bloodborne was right at 30gb.

Well, I already know how the game looks and how massive it is. No worries on that end. The fact that it was only a 31 GB download is just cake on the side.

I decided to go with the PS4 version because of the higher resolution, although it is cool to see that they are utilizing dynamic scaling for the Bone version. I hope that the D1P does fix the reported framerate issues with the PS4 version.

I honestly hate when they don't let me save whenever where ever. Yes, I "save scum", but it's mostly cause I can't stand it when an NPC I like or a follower dies (I tend to take it that if one my followers or my horse or whatever dies, it's just as much a failure as if I die so time to do over). And in a way it adds challenge cause that means i have to do stuff over again rather than move on with the story.

Sure, you can say that takes some challenge out, but for me it makes me enjoy the game less (I get upset over it and have a hard time letting it go). I don't get why people want a system that forces you not to save scum. If you find it makes the game worse for you, then don't do it! Make yourself play iron man. Lay some rules down and stick with them (There's nothing saying you can't do that. For example I really enjoyed adding rules in Skyrim that my character must eat at least twice a day and get 6-8 hours of sleep a night. One thing I disliked about Witcher 2 compared to Skyrim was that it didn't allow you to sleep or eat and I like that rule cause it makes things more immersive for me. I suppose I could "wait" for 8 hours but it really doesn't feel the same as having to find a valid sleep spot every night and eating just isn't even a way to pretend around it). Why should the option be taken away from those of us who find it more enjoyable not to have to be forced to accept failure in what they deem as failure?

In a dev livestream yesterday, they said the best gear (well, armor, at least) is had through crafting, but you can also find some really good stuff through exploring. Sounded like crafting>exploring>shopping.

I on Xbox One: It's what you recommend Geralt's face xD

This X1. Is a friend has it

Is there any way to verify this? Could be PC with X1 controller. Mostly asking because I am worried about the X1 version, simply because we've seen next to nothing, and it's the version I have preordered :D

oh well... W3 is far better than W2 so far in terms of combat feel. But as I mentioned earlier - I do not feel any real weight in combat. I get that witchers have super-human reflexes and move fast as wind, but it often looks like cheesy low-budget movie with many stupid non-practical poses and strikes. Btw I like dismemberment and gore a lot - but it does not seem real to me when Geralt cuts men in half diagonaly. May be I just like Berserk too much, but I can't imagine cuting man in half with such swift blows.

God damn that is a positive for me!!

Goind to chop fools in half diagonaly all the time baby!!

Just went through my old saves as realised I made some really dumb choices and haven't got time to replay TW2 :( Guess I'll replay all 3 games after TW3 is done.
