Witcher 3 PC Performance Thread

Ooh at least my 670 is in the light green, and my CPU and RAM is in the dark green. So I guess medium settings might get me a solid 60 fps. So long as medium looks good, I'm happy with that. Is there a screenshot set that shows all quality settings?

Are the Nvidia settings profiles included with the lastet drivers? I have the game pre-loaded and 352.86 installed, but Witcher 3 isn't on my list of games.

Looks like I'll have to tweak a bit to get 60+ fps at 1440p on SLI 980's.

I hope there's a setting that is just absurd (grass in GTA V, cinematic DoF in Witcher 2) that tanks FPS for little increase in visual fidelity.

Oh lovely, now I can squeeze in 30mins or so before I go to sleep I guess :) Got the 300mb patch too, now to decrypt the preload
Expected it at 1am o:

Geforce Experience is weird sometimes.

For my 970, it's telling me to keep Textures on High while Water Quality should be on Ultra. And to use HBAO+.

I would think Textures would have a higher priority then those two.

Never user the GE Experience recommendations.

Go to the nvidia site that shows the performance impact of each setting and tweak it to your liking instead.

Anyone playing on a Gaming Laptop with a 970m?

Can't wait to put the kids to bed tonight.
And if they had a bad day at school, it's early bed time at 5pm! ;)

ADVICE PLEASE!

I have the game going on medium at 60FPS atm on my GTX 670. If I wanted to try and squeeze as much out of the graphics as possible while keeping my 60FPS, which settings would give me the Best Visual Difference to Frames Lost ratio?

In the first scene I have 50fps~ with everything on, and just over 60fps~ with HairWorks off @ 1440p. Slight overclock on the cards.

Locking to 30fps confirmed for me then.

Was hoping to get 1440p hairworks on with 780ti sc at around 45fps but seems like that might not be able to even hold at 30fps...

It's mostly giving me recommendations for High settings.

While recommending Detail Level, Terrain Quality and Water Quality at Ultra with HBAO+ on top of that.

Tells me to turn off Depth of Field, both cutscene and gameplay version.

And Hairworks off, which is a no-brainer.

I have an i5-2500 with 8GB Ram and an MSI 970.

overclock your i5 2500?

Wow, thanks. Didn't expect feedback so soon. That sounds promising since I game at 1080p but it's open world. Lots of variables.

Go use the Nvidia Game Guide it breaks things down by setting.

I just restarted steam and it's downloading something now, but it worries me.
Downloaded: 21.6GB/21.6GB

I'm still on the fence about buying this for full price. After GTA V, it's not performance I'm worried about. I just hope the game won't crash to desktop every single time on my rig, regardless of video settings (4770k, 8GB, 780ti).

The Steam equivalent of the drunk friend who keeps offering to pay your tab all night.
gonna "risk" ultra settings with hariworks at 1080p, fuck it.

ill tweak it tomorow when I can actually try it, now I got work

Great, Steam needs to download 2gb after decrypting now for whatever reason... nah, have fun guys, I'll check back tomorrow and hopefully wake up to some nice settings for my 970.
