Ultra Street Fighter IV on PS4 is much, much better now. Bless.

Just to add, the PC version of USF4 was super wack upon release...and today it's potentially the most stable version of the game online.

Might just have to wait it out on the PS4 version. However it's developer, Other Ocean, is notorious for questionable ports in the past. Namely MK Arcade Kollection.

Totally understandable if you question my opinions, as most of them are from online play. I'm not a super hardcore SF4 player, as the last time I was competitive was 2008...BUT, most other hardcore players are experiencing the same issues on twitter.

Ex-Backbone? They suck ass.

I've got experience with Other Ocean's MK Trilogy and the menus were laughable in that, esp. the moves menu (get out of it and experience a 2 second freeze fucking your fatality time). Was never fixed afaik.

Oh jeez, these are the MK Arcade Kollection guys? I didn't even know that.

Yikes.

Unfortunately the exclusivity became the focus for some people.

Eh, no. I think most people were just happy that we were getting USFIV in some shape or form on current gen. Everyone was too busy talking about SFV exclusivity. Let's not go down that route in a thread about technical performance.

Didn't intend to play this tonight as its late but seeing this thread I have and so far I can't see any glaring issues but I'm not going to be playing online so if there's net code issues I won't know

Ah fuck me. How could I not check online before hitting buy. I thought I was safe to assume that they couldn't fuck this up and that they even promised to fix the input lag from ps3. Way to go, Capcom. You got me.

I can say the menus are definitely laggy.

As for the over saturation and character outlines, I don't have anything to compare them to as I never really played last gen. Well I did but it's been a while since vanilla/super.

Haven't had a chance to test online yet.

They will have to support this version anyway so there is no running away from this.

True enough. Given the press this release got and it's current gen exclusivity, someone's gonna step in to fix it. I just hope it happens soon.

Quite disheartening to be reading all this unfold while it's still downloading.

I did warn you guys ex-Backbone devs were doing the port.

Man, if I'd known this I'd have stayed the fuck away.

At least this isn't something Capcom can avoid if they're pitching it towards the FGC's high standards.

To clarify further, USF4 was transitioning from GFWL to Steam which both differs in API which is why they had to work closely with Steam to fix this issue (there was another game having issue's too cannot remember the name). USF4 on Steam seemed to work after Steam performed an update on their client perhaps configuring it for GFWL transitioned games.

But this.... Idk what can I say about this port lol

and holy shit I did not know it was the MK Arcade guys doing this!!!

Yup, same. I figured a port that consists of pretty much only a resolution bump on significantly stronger hardware than its predecessors would have little to no issues whatsoever. And then on top of that, EVO deciding on using this version made it seem like a safe bet.

Nah I'm hearing it's pretty bad. It seems Capcom outsourced the a dev with a not so good track record.

Iron Galaxy did the port?

I'll show myself out...

Edit: Hopefully they'll get this patched up, I'm not normally a fighting game fan, but I was contemplating grabbing this because of the pricing.

They won't screw up the port of a game that hss been released countless of times they said, we shouldn't worry about there being no gameplay material 5 days before release they said.

I'm starting to believe the devs just said fuck it and released the game, I really don't want to insult the people at the dev studio but this is just sad. How can you tout that this is going to be the definitive version when it's actually the worst? I bought this game blindly and I regret my purchase already.

can't believe they hired ex-backbone/digital eclipse developers to do a port for a version that was supposed to be used at evo.

I'm surprised there's no day 1 patch already.

Most of what's being complained about seems to be patchable anyway.

People are talking about regretting their purchases already. This isn't the '80s and '90s anymore, people. A game released now usually isn't the same a few days/weeks/months after. Things keep on getting improved. Sure, it sucks that some developers seem to be using patches as an excuse to push out crappy works, but hey, it's the era we live in now.

Can EVO people change their minds, or is this locked?
They can change their minds, problem is that Sony is money hatting the event. So it's going to be a bad look when USF4 is played on 360 as opposed to PS4. Remember that USF4 and SFV are attached to Sony's name now so this reflects poorly not on just Capcom but on Sony as well.
