Most overpowered Multiplayer weapon?

Came to Post this. Like a shotgun-sniperrifle-hybrid
Ironically it's been toned down compared to previous versions.
I think what annoys me about weapons in general in games isn't just whether they're "overpowered" but how much skill is needed.
A blue shell requires no skill, at least with a green shell you need to aim.p
There is always a weapon in every online game that requires no skill at all, and they annoy me the most.
Gnasher shotgun in Gears. Made a mockery of long range engagements with shots traded back and forth. Why bother poking in and out of cover when you could just gnasher someone to the face. Even if someone had a power weapon, the gun could rip them to shreds in an instant at the proper range. Made the machine gun almost completely pointless.
The pistol is the winner. Man if you knew what you were doing it could wreck hard and everyone would get mad.
Sure, but it's certainly not overpowered, and very easy to outplay.
It's instant kill if it touches you. That's why I feel it's overpowered. There should be a little damage taken first.
Yes if they're coming towards you you can react as they need to be fairly close, but once they're in range that's it, you're almost sucked into a canned death animation, it kinda reminds me of being chainsawed in gears of war 1 when that was released, exact same thing with a canned death animation if they were in "the range", you'd almost be sucked into death.

Not sure if it's a weapon per se, but the Saharan Spy set from TF2 was pretty damn OP for the game.

Considering how accurate it was you basically didnt need any other weapon. Not to mention hilarious shooting people out of Banshees with it.
Pretty much. It was pretty hilarious that the Terminator easter egg/nod really was a Terminator.

I got plenty of Nukes with that build.
One Man Army also refreshes Claymores.
They have to get right in your face to do that. You have a gun which can shoot people from a distance, just shoot them, it really isn't that hard. Literally the only time rollers kill me is if they can surprise me.

I agree. Fuck this weapon.In my 20 years of gaming there are certain weapons that have stood out to me as way over powered but I've always had a tough time picking out the most over powered of them all.
Well thanks to Destiny the title of the Most overpowered weapon of all time goes to The Thorn: It kills with two shots no matter how high your defense is and even the first shot it'll leave a poison effect on you dealing even more damage. I've never come anything across it before.
That's my opinion, what's yours?

Farsight gun in Perfect Dark. It sees through walls and is a one-hit kill. Once you get it, you win the game.
Pre-patch, it was like a sniper rifle.

I don't think Thorn is overpowered as much as it's just ideal for Trials of Osiris. It's almost like that hand cannon was made for that pvp mode.
Outside of ToO, Thorn gets destroyed by both The Last Word and Hawkmoon.
But people are dumb. They see something and they copy it, so now Thorn is everywhere.
It'll get nerfed on popularity alone.
It's just a very annoying weapon with a cheap poison gimmick we all have to deal with right now.

Its not a two shot weapon unless you spec very little armor. When your screen turns green, hide. But too many people charge in.
On the PS4, the breakdown between hawkmoons and thorns is pretty even, so its interesting to think about how bad/common they must be on the Xbox where there is nearly no amazing equivalent (the last word needs a skilled hand)

AWP actually takes skill t use. Auto sniper can die in a ditch.
During the time when your AWP was your secondary Deagle.

I still think it's funny. Thorn went form being a useless weapon that no one wanted to apparently, god's fury incarnate.
So now they want it to suck again.

Speaking of Battlefield, the splash damage of the Carl Gustav in Bad Company 2 was ridiculous. I hated getting killed with that thing.
Completely invalidates your argument. The fact that you were hit once, remained/regained first place, hit again, remained/regained first place, hit again, remained/regained first place. Hardly OP.

CSGO has managed to have pretty much every gun get broken at some point. Right now the tec-9 is still entirely too powerful for that price point.

Same weapon was also strewn about multiplayer maps and as shown in the video it homes in on the other player and, after a little brain drilling animation, instantly kills him. Maybe there was a trick to avoiding it, but none of us knew how and we all found it cheap as heck. We ended up banning the thing from being used in our multiplayer matches.

This thing was bloody ridiculous too, lol. I remember one of the challenges was you against a bunch of high level AI opponents, one hit kills and including that weapon on the map. Most I got were 2 kills before the AI picked up the thing and instantly 1-shot me whenever I respawned.

I've been rocking Thorn since it sucked with 6 rounds per chamber, so I'm attached to the thing. Besides, it only takes two shots to kill if they're headshots... like a lot of other Hand Cannons.
I won't deny that Thorn is an awesome weapon, but it's nowhere near as overpowered as things like pre-nerf Vex Mythoclast or even pre-nerf Suros Regime. And that's just Destiny. There's no way Thorn is the most OP weapon ever.

It's not a win button, but the UCAV in BF4 is pretty evil in the right (wrong?) hands. If you unlock the airburst it's basically a Redeemer light. I feel dirty using it.

Not exactly a weapon, think it counts in the spirit of the OP though so I'll go with Michael Vick in Madden 2004. Most overpowered shit in the history of Madden, honestly in the history of sports games. He completely broke the entire game to the point where it was a complete joke.

Man, this takes me back...Pre-patch, it was like a sniper rifle.
While not overpowered or anything, it was fun as hell to exploit the Javelin glitch before it got patched. Also, 1:35 also shows how ridiculous the Akimbo Models were.

M60 for the first 2months of BF BC2, did like 30 damage even over long range before they fixed it
