Unless they do something specifically to tie into the start of the Great War - which isn't out of the question with Bethesda - I don't see them breaking the usual Tuesday release schedule for Fallout 4, and the 23rd is a Friday.

November 11, 2011 is release date of Skyrim and it was Friday.

even calladuty is releasing on Friday this year. Also starting next month all music starts releasing on Fridays. Friday is the new big thing.

To all the people getting upset about the graphics, at least we'll avoid a "downgrade" mass outcry with this. Also there is always the chance of actually undersell and overachieve maybe devs have paid attention and this is their reaction to the "downgrade" trend.

I think it looks much better then the previous games graphically. Anyway the most important thing for me (ps3 owner) is the performance. If I can play the game without it becoming increasingly unplayable as time goes on I am set.

Alright, I'm interested. Never much cared for Fallout on account of not much caring for post-apocalyptic settings, but voiced protagonist and the possibility of there being a group out there that seems to have gotten their shit together to some extent (flying vehicles take a ton of infrastructure) are enough to get me at least curious.

Fallout 3 had flying vehicles as well.

Vertibirds have been around in the games for a while. From 2 to New Vegas.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6WYF4mpis0 See at around 2:30. That's in 2240, decades before Fallout 3 and New Vegas, and the Enclave (dudes with guns) had been existing for over a century at that point, so they probably had to keep them maintained. There's always been groups with at least impressive infrastructure for a post-post apocalypse.

Does anyone know about how MLB handles the licensing of their stadiums? Will Fallout 4 be able to use Fenway's name, or is it kind of a Space Needle in Second Son deal where they can't show it if it gets destroyed or fucked up?

Water is not wet!
I'm thinking voice options like in Saint's Row. Create your character and choose a voice.
im not sure how its done in Saints Row but i would welcome a robust set of voice sets like Baldurs Gate/Icewind Dale or Jagged Alliance (and by robust i mean at least triple the amount of professional voice sets in those games). Leave the questing/dialogue stuff unvoiced but have reactions to stuff in the game itself. Have option to do custom sets and ability to disable completely and i dont think anyone would have objection to that.

Cannot wait. Loved Vegas, 3 was ok but a little too much subway tunnels for my liking. I much preferred the setting in Vegas. Hopefully here its a bit better than Bethesda's last rodeo with the series.

So are the Fall Out games pretty good? I own Fall Out 3 on Xbox 360 but never got around to playing it. Couldn't get into the combat? If it's as good as everyone says I think I'll go back and try to play it again. What are some tips to enjoy the game?

I wish they'd just let us go ahead and buy the game of the year edition.

I would just move on to New Vegas as I've heard it was better in most aspect.

Never played the previous Fallout games, but this has me interested.

Graphically, I understand it's not stunning, but artistically it looks much more interesting to me than Fallout 3 did. Seems like the landscapes/cities are more vibrant, which is a welcome change.

My biggest concern is the core gameplay mechanics and mission/structure design. I've never been a fan of Bethesda in any of these areas.

Tips? Explore, talk to characters and do quests. Play with the various weapons and find skills that match up with your play style. I'm big on stealth so I go with sneak, lock pick skills. Also repair and guns. If not bulk up and try melee or unarmed. Maybe try high speech and talk your way through quests more. My 2 cents

Then skip Fallout 3 and play Fallout: New Vegas. The gameplay is mostly the same, but improved upon (imo, but it still isn't that impressive), but the mission/structure design and writing are so so much better.

For all we know you have multiple main characters, where only one is set voice/gender.

I wouldn't mind having multiple main characters in one world, seeing as the map is supposed to be 3x the size of skyrim.

And for all we know it could be a MOBA--what are you talking about? Hahahaha. I know it's just speculation but there is absolutely nothing that points to that and no precedent that would suggest that (other than GTAV but I don't think that's analogous at all to a progression based Bethesda RPG).

maybe I should get back into Fallout 3. I only got to the part where you go into the virtual world. That seems to be pretty early.

In NV i got the point where I can take control or the robot army. No idea how far that is into the game.
That's literally the end of the game for New Vegas. If you control them you're basically just choosing your end game from then on.

If it plays just like Skyrim and has a world just as interesting (which it seems like it does), I'll be a happy purchaser. New Vegas just wasn't my thing.

Sure, it'll be nice to see gameplay at Bethesda's press conference. But I know it'll be awesome and I don't want much spoiled. Really all I care about at E3 is two things:
1) 2015 release. This is the most important by far.
2) PS4, Xbox One, PC only.

If the above are confirmed at Bethesda's press conference, this E3 is already a huge success before the Monday press conferences even begin. What an amazing position that would be going into the E3 week.

Nev Vegas was way too much of the same for me. After finishing Fallout 3 I just couldn't get into more of the same exact thing. Looking forward to 4 though.
