The thing I like most about this is that it's a game of scale from PlatinumGames. They've done insane action games (and made a few long and maybe overlong games in a genre that usually comes up short,) but there's not been a big, epic quest game, and that's something missing from a company that has roots in Clover (I'm thinking Okami) and before that Capcom. I like what Clover does, but its games tend to be too demanding for me in most of my moods, but give me good and challenging gameplay over a longer haul and I'm down for the ride.
Yeah this is really exciting. Tight action and some roaming/adventure like Okami had would be superb.
I was thinking this as well. A modern CT dream team, impossible by any real stretch of imagination.
Supergroup, assemble!
My mind is still blown. I mean, I had thought it a slim possibility that Nier might see a sequel someday, but Cavia's dissolution made me think it would be missing some ingredients. I never imagined it would be made by such an optimal group of people that can make the sequel it deserves.
