Thanks for the reminder mate. Can't wait!

Yeah me neither. I loved the first ones. They've been knocking it out of the park with their videos and ViDoc's, look how amazing their remaking the legend H2A ViDoc was.

Happy about this returning. Microsoft needs to push this type of series to all their studios.

Yeah, but I think because Halo is the largest fanbase for them, the fact it continues that Bungie ViDoc tradition, will be hard to replicate for say Gears or Forza crews. These are probably costly or time consuming as well. But you're right, I'd love if more MS first party embraced these things. Gone are the days of behind closed doors stuff. More open, visible, two way communication should be the standard now.

He calls himself the "Warden Eternal" and protects "The Domain"

"The Domain was an esoteric quantum information repository used by the Forerunners to contain vast amounts of knowledge, most notably their cultural and ancestral records." - Halopedia.... basically their internet database of information

Sounds like you could call him Webmaster and it'd still work lol

I wonder why E3 didn't have a teaser or trailer for the Spielberg show? I also wonder when the floodgates will open information wise about H5, being 4 months out that means the game will go gold in about 2.5 months.

I really thought they would have said something about the TV show. The whole Halo E3 presentation was really eh very forgettable. It seamed very short with little to no details. Most people were very confused. I still don't see how there is not a Fire Fight or Spartan Op mode in the game considering the last few Halo's have had one or the other. I was really wanting Halo strike missions with limited lives, boss battles, and loot drops. Owell maybe Halo 6.

They'll save some for Gamescom and then definitely PAX. E3 can't really be about Halo. Microsoft is tired of people saying all they have is Halo. I think the nature of the industry allows for news to leak elsewhere, plus we have things like Halofest. We can get more comprehensive stuff outside the actual conference.

All this gameplay is getting me excited.
I look forward to seeing what happens when a ground pound directly hits a vehicle.

The switching seats thing is Aldo really cool. I wonder if you have to actually press the button to kick any passengers out or if its all dome in one jack.

luckily we now have this at ludicrous resolution

I just can't take this design seriously lol

Why are the Grunts purple?

Great sword!!

Just like the destiny sword in that one mission/raid
Only way cooler ;)

Seriously though that sword is way past cool

There's still Gamescom and PAX Prime between now and launch, so I think they're pacing themselves.

I hate looking at Star Wars Battlefront gifs. Why cant Halo have good graphics? Do they need to ditch the engine?

edit. I just watched the gamerside download the the campaign trailer, YouTube does not do it justice. Looks much better.

My eyes must be broken, it didn't look "better" than h5 to me

I think the covenant gets more and more strictly purplified with each passing game, probably on purpose to give off a more uniform aesthetic for Jul.

I'm seeing a lot of questions on Twitter and in forums about the new Requisition System (REQ System) in Halo 5: Guardians. The REQ System rewards players across both our multiplayer experiences. Players will earn REQ Points after each match in Arena or Warzone multiplayer, which can then be redeemed for REQ Packs. So what goodies are in REQ Packs? Each pack contains a variety of requisitions (REQs) in the form of unlockable weapons and armors, skins, assassination animations, and more. In addition, players will receive REQ Packs as rewards when they level up their Spartan Rank (SR) and complete Commendations across multiplayer.

While players will earn REQ Packs across both Arena and Warzone, only cosmetic items can be used in our Arena experience. This is to ensure that all players start with the same weapons and abilities as part of our vision for the balanced, competitive play in Arena multiplayer.

In Warzone, our new massive-scale multiplayer experience, we wanted to give fans even more variety and choice in how they play. Within Warzone, you’ll have the ability to deploy a multitude of weapons and vehicles from your inventory of REQs throughout a match. These requisitions are governed and balanced by Warzone’s in-match REQ Level and Energy systems, which are driven by player and team performance within the mode.

The REQ System is designed to generously reward players with a steady stream of content to keep gameplay fresh. We’ll be continuing to release new REQ content, post launch, so there are always new toys to play with. All REQ content in the game can earned through the regular course of play in multiplayer. We’ll also give players the option to purchase REQ Packs as a matter of convenience, with a portion of the proceeds going toward prize pools for the Halo Championship Series. Stay tuned for more details on Halo 5 esports plans later this summer.

We're excited to be showing Warzone for the first time here at E3 and on behalf of the entire Halo 5: Guardians team I want to thank you all for your support.

IGN's footage really didn't do it justice.

IGN had footage? I didn't even watch their stuff. I watched the Ready Up live match that was linked here. I'd seen the bits and pieces on MS streams and stuff but none of that ever made it look interesting. But seeing an entire game in one sitting did it for me. It clicked for me then.

Don't those "packs" include power weapons?

I'm fine with microtransactions as long as they're not in arena and since the maps are free (and this is the case), but it feels incredibly weird.
Yeah from what I can gather you could get new rocket variants and upgrades in the pack, but in warzone itself you'd still have to earn the same amount of 'energy' as you would normally to later spawn with it.

i think

I'm not a fan of real money REQ packs but at least its not in Arena. Shame that this is a mode that its in the game in place of something like Firefight.

That's pretty much what people wanted, and the gameplay impacts stay over in the mode specifically for it

You can just choose to not pay for the req packs and the playerbase stays unified.

Wonder if it'd open up the potential for the MP to go F2P down the road

I assume you only need to have one of each cosmetic item and multiple of the weapons and vehicles.

So does the system automatically stop you from getting duplicate cosmetic items or is there a chance I can end up with 18 duplicate helmets.

It is odd, but it's not like you can equip them right away. Most require level 7+

That's what needs to be answered.

So is this why maps are now free? And it supports HCS?

This is brilliant!
