Another year gone by, and I receive more passing marks from Yale and Harvard.

More info here from last year

But, yeah, last week I went to Yale-New Haven Hospital for my check for stroke-related stuff, no sign of the cavernous malformation bleeding again.

Today I went to Brigham & Women's/Dana-Farber for my check for cancer-related stuff, no sign of cancer reappearing.

The cancer stuff, it's now been 4 years since that was removed, so making good progress on being clear from that.

The stroke stuff, well... Hey, I lived another year. As I said in the other topic, I have basically a 5% per year chance - cumulative over time - of having another one. And not much to do about that aside from a rather risky surgery that they don't want to do unless I do have another one. And no bleeding now isn't necessarily any sign that it won't in the coming year. So, just another year down, and roll that D20 again for next year.

At least I finally got a living will last month so that hopefuly if/when something happens which leaves me paralyzed or in a coma, I can just be put out of my suffering (hoping that, at least with official legal documents, I can avoid the legal mess that stuff like that usually is in the United States).

But, for now, happy thoughts.

Happy anniversary of "I Didn't Die Last Year" day.

I asked every single other gaffer and we like having you around so it's cool for us too.

You're a good poster, and seem like a good guy, so here's hoping your d20 rolls are positive for a full and happy life.

I will proceed to hug you now.

Hugs are awesome. I'm always happy for hugs =)

And thanks for the kind words everyone, they really do mean a great deal to me. I know I'm kind of a pain/annoying here much of the time, but I really am glad to have this board here and all of the people on it <3

Best part of going to Dana-Farber (aside from being told I don't have cancer) is all of the awesome Red Sox-related stuff there.
And getting to be in Boston, which of course I love.
(Although, rush hour traffic leading out of Boston on the Mass Pike does suck >.>)

so what you're telling me is is that you won't die a horribly painful, long, drawn out death.
instead it'll be in you old age while playing Chrono cross and watching the Red Sox stink it up?
glad to hear the good news buddy.

That's the plan!
Quick and easy or bust!

Hey, as long as they don't leave the 1986 World Series and 2003 ALCS on repeat, I'll take it >.>

glad to hear the good news buddy.

Thanks =)

I, too, like to not die every day.
I've seen you around a bit and am happy to know you'll be around for some time longer

Congratulations, Terrisus.

How is your current project going? I remember it being a mathematics-related website, correct me if I'm wrong.

Hey, after Harvard and Yale, it's pretty much all down-hill from there.
Maybe I can find an excuse to go to Oxford for something
that isn't a life-threatening health condition

Seriously though, as ironic as it may seem, having the living will is actually allowing me to think toward the future again.
Trying to go back for a second Master's, in Information Technology. 15 years later than I should have, but hopefully I have some time left to do something with it.

It's all that free Dominos keeping you alive!

Could be!

Although, a couple of days after the first free Domino's thing this year, I ended up having to spend most of the night in the hospital...
(Not related to the pizza, don't worry, you're still safe)

Congratulations, Terrisus.

Oh, I've had more than my share of Mathematics at this point.
Hopefully Information Technology can move me away from that.
(Wait, you mean computers use mathematics too? :þ)

I like you. I think you have the highest post per day of any GAFer

You'd be surprised - there are those with not only a higher posts-per-day, but who have done it over a longer period of time :þ

Terrisus, I love you, man. Always think of your problems, and hope you're doing fine. You know we are here for you, and can always message any of us, including me. Nothing worse than going something horrible while not feeling supported. Sometimes that stranger support is great.

You're one swell guy. Thanks for the free pineapple pizzas.

Wtf, terrisus, this is a disgrace. Never pineapple as a topping man.

Good news terrisus.

You're an 80s baby like me, us old-timers got to stick together.

<3

Good stuff man. How are your programming studies going?

Difficult getting started again after a couple of years out of school...
But, I'll make it through, hopefully.

You're one swell guy. Thanks for the free pineapple pizzas.

I'm responsible for a horrible thing here >.>

Also, heading off to sleep soon, been a really long day (was out from 8AM to 8PM), so apologies on lacking responses after this until tomorrow, but had just wanted to post this today with the good news.

And again, thank you so much to everyone for such nice thoughts and comments. It really does mean so much to me.
