I caught around half of the stream, the rest was choppy video/audio drops.

Did they confirm if Shinji Hosoe (music) is back and was there any information on who will do the art (other than showing that piece of concept art)?

Hosoe was confirmed back during a tweet I think, when someone mentioned that they had known from him personally that the game had been in the works for quite a while.

Didn't hear anything about either

According to RPGSite a wholly new artist is there and the general tone of the game will be close to 999

Hosoe is likely according to a few @ProjectACE tweets

I wonder if they're even going to bother doing Japanese VAs if the sales are that bad in Japan.

We aren't sure if ZE3 will have full VA but we do know that whatever is voiced has dual audio for sure.

Okay I'm excited for the dog(though I will cry if anything happens to it) and the new artstyle. I find it similar enough but with a bit more realistic tone. I adore the original artist but I'm cool with this artstyle.

Regarding the key art (also VLR spoilers):

VLR didn't mention Diana's relationship with Sigma, only that Sigma based Luna's appearance on her. It's very possible that Diana's personality is completely different and she didn't get along with Sigma - I wouldn't assume she's being forced in the key art. Given Sigma's creepy tendencies in VLR, I wouldn't blame her.

The only real clues we get about Diana is that she got infected with Radical-6, Sigma sacrificed body parts to save her, she eventually survived the outbreak itself and some time in between the nuclear winter / AB Project, she eventually traveled to the moon to meet back up again with Sigma. The last part was supposedly of her own free will.

Huh, I don't remember that last part. It's been too long since I've played VLR.

Oh man I'd LOVE a Uchikoshi and Kodaka collaboration (add Nakazawa in there of Remember11 and Ever17 fame and GOAT contender with music by Hosoe or Takeshi Abo (E17, R11 composer)...).

Was the dog just mentioned in passing?

Memento doggy.

edit: (VLR spoilers)
That Sigma looks a SHITTON OLDER than the Sigma we know. I'd not bet on that being Sigma despite the Diana in the background. I'd guess a time-related twist again but we have a particular timeframe for ZE3 as we know (29-30-31 December 2028)

Also there was some stuff about
ZE3 taking place in three different places or something, any updates on that?

999 spoilers
Why can't the Nevada test building be our good old Building Q? I remember a similar device being in one of the routes in 999...

I think it will have the same amount of VA as VLR. Which means none in the puzzle rooms, that's the only thing that makes sense when they say "fully voice cinematics"

I wonder if we're going get 3D character models this time or sprites. I felt that a lot of the charm was lost in VLR due to the character models.

I don't blame you for having missed it - it was never mentioned in the game. It was confirmed by Uchikoshi on the VLR website's "Answers" page where, much like 999, he answered a lot of "frequently asked" questions and explained potential unresolved plot-threads or small detials that might have been left lingering in VLR.

If they insist on keeping 3D models, it would be nice if they actually learned something from AA5 on how to handle a transition from sprites to 3D properly.

I'm honestly down with both art styles, just do not recycle your goddamn twists Uchikoshi...

999-esque atmosphere with that concept art means it is a GOAT contender for me. VLR better hold on to its title tight :p

Those are a lot of "huge points" to be missed though. lol I imagine this should be explained in ZE3 for those that didn't get around to it, unless they just expect people to keep up with the Lore.

I'm gonna after to go over all that stuff again so I'm caught up and ready to go, so many little details.

We know nothing for sure. IIRC Uchikoshi said that
there will be 9 people divided in groups of 3. But it should always be in the Test Site. Would be kinda interesting if we actually could shift perspectives and use a "leader" from each group.
I theorize that Sigma, Phi and "Kyle" will be the three leaders and playable characters in the game!

It's definitely going to all be explained ZE3 since so many questions in that was basically answered "this will be explained in ZE3", lol

Most of his actual answers were just for smaller, self contained questions that wasn't super important in the context of the game's eventual sequel, or is just stuff that's self-contained in VLR's general story. One funny thing I remember him confirming straight up was that
Phi and Sigma would never be a "couple" in the series.

If only the art always looked like this. Instead of this:

It would also make the games much easier to recommend to less-enthusiastic gamers.

The fact that the key art is already pretty damn harrowing to me still when just looking at it is a good sign I think. That decaying background texture almost reminds me of something I'd see from Nine Inch Nails art during The Downward Spiral-era.

I'm not much into the whole Saw shindig these days (admittedly I used to really enjoy the first two movies) but I know Uchikoshi knows how to do horror, and if the setting calls for Rube Goldberg devices, then bring it on.

Yeah, when I first saw this, I was kinda "the hell is that?" but it's definite;y foretelling that much darker side of 999, and I agree it's a cooler look that VLR Clover, who I hope we've seen the last of for a while.
Snake pls

Two characters doesn't make a whole artstyle bad. I love this new look but the original is great too. 999 is fine enough with Lotus not even being that bad.

The art instantly gave me Silent Hill 2 vibes. That would be a very interesting change of direction from the previous two games.

I'll probably have to replay these, some of these spoilers I remember, but only after thinking.

Honestly VLR Cover and Alice are kind of cherry picked examples of the VLR artwork, the rest of it is good, save Alice's ridiculous necklace-top-thing and Clover's mere existance.

Fixed, but remember: Kinu gonna Kinu, and there ain't nothin' nobody can do that can stop her.

Since it's already out there, I hope we get a direct source version of that promo art soon. I'm totally in love with the style.

Agreed, and I want that "ESCAPING IN SUMMER 2016" as well.

I don't want my wallpaper to be a shaky camera photo for the next year ;-;

The new art style looks dope but VLR's style was amazing as well. Design was poor in some characters (Clover, Alice, Quark) but the ones that were good were damn good (Phi, Tenmyouji, Sigma, Luna).

It's less offensive than other animu nowadays, but still kinda dumb in relation to the setting. The promo artwork reminds me of the VN with the best character artwork out there and in fact, combining ZE with something along the lines of Hotel Dusk would make it truly flawless.

I don't think they'll really match the more realistic approach from the picture in the final game though. It would probably be pretty hard to do even.

I must be the only one that loved 999 looks, VLR looks and the way this new one is going for as well.

No, I'm with you on that. I love the way each game looks. I can't wait how the character designs are gonna be in this one.

Welp either way that new art design still makes me very excited.

And yeah that leopard print fetish Clover had could probably disappear,
