Durarara x2 Ten 01:

I like how no one other than a character we've never met before gave a shit about Izaya being in the hospital. Serves him right.

I like the OP, but it's a DRRR opening so of course it's good. Can't wait to see Mikado go off the deep end as the OP implies. Hopefully it makes him a more interesting character.

Seems like next episode focuses on the 3 worst characters in the series. Can't wait... :/

Great. I started liking the main dude until he turned into a rotten mini lelouch and then I liked him more when his plan got foiled and he got that nice series of losses.
Good start.

Gatchaman Crowds Insight 00-01

I missed you so much, Hajime-chan!
Episode 00 was a good appetizer if a bit too short. Episode 1 gave me more and reignited my love for this show.

Senki Zesshou Symphogear GX 1

Doing that marathon with the second season was worth it, as this show delivers the dumb hot blooded singing action right from the start. Nothing says starting with a BANG like reducing the height of the K2.

Ushio and Tora 1

This starts on the right foot, the mood feels right as well. Can't really complain about it. As I finished watching the episode, I got the urge to take out the manga and re-read it.

5 shows watched, 5 shows liked, this is a great summer already.

If you suffer burnout from watching too much anime that means your spirit is weak and you are not worthy of watching anime.

Be gone!

You don't need to watch more than 1 or 2 anime every season anyway.

Backlog watching is the superior way of consuming anime. Better BD version, uncensored and you can watch it at your own pace. Not that anime would ever reach the level of Empire, Gotham or Flash.

You say that, but I know we've lost many people over the years. It happens!

I simply drop in and out. typically the thing that slow down my anime watching it video games.

Course since I'm playing FFXIV obsessively you might as well say I stop watching anime at times to play anime so I'm not really dropping out at all.

These are not things anime should strive to become.

Gotham broke my spirit and made me stop watching TV again.

For what it's worth, my first "modern" (post-90s) anime was MacF and K-On. I admittedly enjoyed anime much more back then when it was novel and new. lol
My first anime are the SoL harem stuff CornBread was watching (School Days, True Tears, Myself; Yourself, H2O) and some other action stuff like Gundam Seed/Des, Deen's FSN, GunXSword (the stuff they had on Animax then). I think I've grown to dislike them over the years (cept for GXS), although I didn't think they were the best thing ever back then either.

Gatchaman Crowds: Insight 00-01

Episode 00 was incredible. It more than delivered on my hopes for Season 2. The action scene that takes place gives us a really cool team dynamic. We see everyone slotting into their individual roles, but we also see them use their powers in tandem to solve problems.
Rui's
teleport power in particular was super interesting and different. This fight proves why I so wanted to see last season use the whole (or most) of a team to solve problems. That's the big benefit of being a hero team show like Gatchaman and an aspect that was woefully missing from Season 1. This fight was better than 95% of the action scenes in S1 just because they used a bunch of the team. I sincerely hope this is a taste of the action we can expect from Insight and not just a big tease.

Episode 1 was, by necessity, a much slower thing. It did a really good job of introducing Tsubasa and giving you a taste of her world. I liked the world building in this episode a lot as well. It's really interesting to see the fallout from
the Gatchaman being public
and the potential problems it causes.

If I had a couple complaints, the first one would be Tsubasa is far too similar to Hajime right now. She's a bit less grating than Hajime, but their defining characteristics are so similar. I like the backstory she has and that instantly made her more interesting to me than Hajime ever was, but I hope they sort of split those characters off as the show goes on and they develop. The other thing that I really didn't like was their use of
Katze
. He was an interesting antagonist for the last season, but now he's just a lame excuse for the camera to leer at Hajime's boobs. It's pretty blatant and gross. I hope they do something else with him to make this worth while. If not, they should ditch him ASAP. He's nothing but a distraction from the good parts of the show.

I'll close off by saying the show still looks and sounds as great as it did last season. The color palette used is fantastic. I loved when Nakamura employed a similar style in Tsuritama and it continues to pay off in Crowds. The music continues to be amazing as well. The show uses insert songs better than almost any other show I can think of. It builds so much hype on soundtrack alone. I can't say I really dig the OP song, but the animation that goes with it is really fun and inventive.

Wait, Durarara X2.5's out now? Crap. Is the OP as good as the first season's second OP? That was amazing. (Wasn't a fan of X2's OP or ED, but X1's seconds were amazing.)

Finally Satou's bullying is back

This show is great although the first episode was mostly reintroducing every character so not much happened. It seems that Inami can act normal now so I hope she won't take away the majority of the screentime as she's the second worst character in the show, Takanashi being first place

The rest of the cast is awesome though.

OP ratings

2 > 3 > 1

There also was a "hidden" Daisy (RIP, gone but not forgotten) and Yamada in the new OP.

In episode 0 Hajime's robot
turned evil while Katze spoke.
That was a pretty nice way of handling it. I do agree with you that it looks really dumb when she's not in her suit though.

Episode 1 - This is intense. I didn't know what I was expecting, everyone calling the Main a dick, but it doesn't seem like that at all, though his grin is really..... badass like. I love the powers going on. The plot so far seems good too, but there is quite a bit to be explained and things, being a 1-cour anime, it'll probably have to move quick, but I hope it'll be explained well enough and that the hard hitting feels... well those will always be hard hitting I guess.

Yuu is fantastic as a main too, he's pretty different from most MC's we see. His little sister Ayumi is super cute and adorable, love her already. Speaking in 3rd person just shoots the cuteness to outer space, it's incredible.

Tomori who records has a pretty interesting ability, as does Takajo in the glasses. It seems like there are hard limitations for these abilities, we'll see if they can get better and things. The premise of
losing these talents
is also interesting, it'll probably factor into the plot for sure. I laughed so hard when Yuu did his evil laugh, that was way too much.

Animation seems good, art style is nice and I like it.

Classroom☆Crisis

Episode 1 - So this is really really something else. I'm still not sure what it's about, but I love it. Animation is stellar and the art style is pretty incredible too. The whole living on Mars with terraformed areas from different countries is awesome, I think it's totally unique and really cool. I assume this one is purely slice of life, though having the title Classroom☆Crisis makes it seem like... well I don't know, wasn't expecting an SoL type of anime. The only character we really meet is the sensei or homeroom teacher, who is super passionate, full of energy and a little crazy in his decision making, he'll be a lot of fun. Iris, the really quiet and level headed girl is cool, she seems to be super smart and being the ace pilot is awesome. I love the space suit she wore, really sexy outfit.

Without a doubt will watch this one. The first episode made it sound like something drastic was occurring, the whole
hostage
plot and all, but it was handled in such an odd way, thought that was great.

GATE

Episode 1 - Yessss! Cajun and I were talking a little bit ago about adventure and fantasy based anime I could watch; well GATE fills that role in quite well! This looks so good too, I love the combination of modern military with this high-fantasy world, dragons, demons, monsters, swords and things!

Having the Main be a 33 year old otaku is super funny. Itami and his passion for his hobby is so good and it feels like I've most definitely met people who are of the same kin; I think that's pretty cool and it's great seeing an otaku get a role that doesn't make fun of him or anything. He's badass and I can't wait to see what can happen.

The idea of having to go through a GATE into this new world is pretty cool too, even if it isn't an entirely new way to do things. I'd love to see it get explained. Since GATE is 2-cour I expect there to be a good plot of some sort, but I'll be okay if it's just high fantasy monster killing themed too.

Can't wait to meet the three girls that are supposed to be involved, the sorceress looks so freaking adorable and cute, as does the elven lady, the gothic Lolita looks fierce and the weapon she holds is MASSIVE. The girls are probably someone Itami looks up to or at least, he probably knows who they are; same with the world, I think he knows exactly what is going on, so this aspect will be mega interesting to follow.

Sound Design is nice, I have no qualms with it. Same with the art style; it's good and I like what I've seen so far. I hope the fantasy world introduces some unique locales and things of that nature, all anime and games with fantasy involved should have unique places to look at and adventure in; I hope GATE doesn't let me down in this regard.

Please have catgirls!!

Shimoneta

Episode - 1 The premise of a world without dirty jokes and unable to look at porn and things of that nature, oh the horror! This is really freaking funny. Blue Snow or Ayame Kajo, this is freaking unbelievable! Anna Nishikinomiya is super cute, love white haired beauties. Hyoka Fuwa, wow what an introduction! She's incredible and to want to know how one gets pregnant, ahahaha, fantastic!

Only problem is the censoring of the words =(. I imagine I'd need to watch the BR's to get uncensored content in this regard, shame too.

I love the characters involved, it's a great comedy for sure. Oh god, the fly scene at the end, holy crap, the whole student body orgasm, this was perfect, absolutely amazing, everyone just explodes ahahaha, the censoring totally sucks, but damn, I will definitely watch this for sure. Dirty jokes, this is too funny.

Art is fantastic and so are the music/sounds, this is just a lot of great fun.

Wakaba Girl

Episode 1 - Oh my goodness, welcome to Wakaba Girl, an absolutely adorable and super mega cute anime with pastel colors and great art and cute girls everywhere! Why is this only a short?!

Wakaba, Mao, Nao, Moe, ahhhh, cuties!!! I'm in love with Wakaba Girl, this is great! Quasar mentioned it's like a short of Kiniro Mosaic and I totally agree, it's cute, it's adorable and it just makes you feel so good!!

Wish it was longer.

Rokka no Yuusha

Episode - 1 Wohooo! Another fantasy based anime, this one looks good too! Adlet looks cool and he's a very fun main; great hair too, think it's pretty cool. Nashetania, the princess with the bunny ears (or hair as someone mentioned) is totes magotes adorable. The setting used is interesting and the place we were shown is super unique, a huge must when being introduced to fantasy worlds, so big props to Rokka no Yuusha for that.

The combat scene was really cool, Adlet clearly fights using tricks, but he's also clever, using the weaknesses of the two men to cripple them hard, I like that a lot. Seeing Nashetania's magic at work was pretty bad ass and really pretty.

Can't wait to see the rest of the cast and see more about this Demon God and things of that nature, will most definitely watch this one too.

Being 1-cour, it'll probably be packed with content and entertainment values throughout, so this one will be fun for sure.

This is freaking amazing Joe, big hugs for linking this *Biiiig Hug!*

Hot diggity dog Working AND Dragon Ball Super on the same day?

The question is whether I want to deal with the annoying high pitched goku voice from the japanase version

Sailor Moon Crystal 25

"Here you go Pluto, I give you the ultimate power to control time, but you must now stand in complete isolation guarding this door and never use your power, or else you'll die"

Man did Pluto get screwed or what?

Pretty good episode overall, though so far Chibi-Usa becoming Chibi-moon has meant nothing for the plot yet.

Glad to have Working back. Otoo's wife could fit in with the Umineko series with how she can easily escape locked room scenarios.

Following anime (especially ongoing thing) since 2007

Burnout is inevitable but I always came back, never really in phase not watching any ongoing show in the season though.

Anime is just easy to watch for me, especially the ongoing.. 20 minute, done.. then wait a week. Unlike TV Show and Game, when I miss the "routine" its hard for me to return, and those tv show and game trapped in backlog hell lol
Same. I've been watching ongoing anime since 2006. Sometimes I take breaks (usually to focus on something else) but I haven't left completely lol.

I don't feel jaded either. Still watching the stuff I've been watching since I started (slice of life, generic romcom, harems, etc). :p

From the impressions of Rokka no Yuusha, the plot twist looks like will be fun for non-LN readers if they don't mess it.

Btw did you guys ever counted how many people are in OP/ED or posters?

Isn't the main gimmick that 7 heroes are drawn to battle evil but only 6 are the actual heroes and the 7th is a traitor in their midst?

Shokugeki no Soma 14

Everything about this show just rocks, really happy with how they adapted the dancing cook chapter was truly fun to see Soma wow the crowd. This is easily one of the best adaptation of a shonen manga I've seen in a long while.

This show started of good, MC was smug and already abused his superpower which was fun to see, that plan with the truck was so stupid that it was enjoyable. I also like how all the superpowers have some sort of flaw, pretty refreshing to see.

All in all, I really enjoyed this show. Untill...

This monster popped up, ugh.

They're really forcing her on the watchers. Does anyone actually like her?

Ninja Slayer 12
Nancy-san got molested, Lobster got killed (twice! And by the looks of it, there's a chance he will return), and Darkninja-san trying to fix his sword. A normal day for Ninja Slayer.

Durararax2 ten 1

Izaya still as mental as ever. Another introduction episode, a calm before the storm episode...

Gender-bending anime? Yes please.
I like that she doesn't look too girly. Makes the mistake of thinking she's a (short) guy more believable.

Gangsta Episode 1

Pretty boring, only interested cause someone called it the fujoshi black lagoon. The characters are ugly and too old, and they are as interesting as a plank of wood.

Annabel ED was alright but not the worst or best song. Stereo Dive Foundation in the lead for best OP song of the season here.

Ushio and Tora Episode 1 – The Fate that Brings Ushio And Tora Together

Not a good first episode, only the last few minutes were memorable. Though I will keep watching. It reminds me of Mushibugyo for some reason.

Like the ost.

In this episode, Kugimin talk to herself a lot. Hearing that BONES delay the last episode makes me wonder if the quality is going to be OVA like. They better be!

Shokugeki no Soma 14

So yeah, after this episode, i tried making Souffle omelette. Probably the easiest recipe so far (other than honey or peanut butter grilled squid). Yup, sure feel like eating a bubble.
Anyway, this episode is awesome. Soma circus like cooking is great!

Ushio and Tora - 1

These two are so gonna be the best of friends by the time this is over.

Okay, this was pretty awesome. The OP alone pretty much got me hooked. A boy and tiger monster fighting demons together? Yes please!
