Everybody that hates the batmobile sections, did you switch the controls? I did NOT like using the batmobile until I switched the controls. The Riddler sections are much easier as well if you switch to first person.

My only big complaint is there wasn't any boss battles but one and the rest of the "boss" battles were in the tank. THAT was annoying. I think if they changed that up and then didn't have the side missions where you used the virus on the mines then the Batmobile sections would have been less grating on people.

Could you find a camera-switch button with the alternate controls?

I hugely prefer the alternate controls but can't immediately switch camera angle, which really annoys me.

Hmm, might have to try that. Braking with the square button is weird.

You still have to use square as handbrake turn, but left trigger is normal brake/reverse, which is useful.

You sound like me. I've got bat fever! Never bought a comic in my life but I've been checking online for these same comics

Year One is a good place to start.

It auto saves after every section (i think). I was loving this game up until that spot. absolutely terrible section which brings the whole game to a screeching halt.

I... I really enjoyed that bit.

I don't know what I've been smoking.

Okay, gonna try it and see what works best for me.

Question about Lucius Fox side quest (Warning: MAIN QUEST ENDING SPOILERS) -
what happens if you start that side quest before you end the game? Is it just not beatable until Bruce Wayne's identity is revealed? Because I doubt that Batman would reveal his identity to Hush otherwise. Loved the bit when you play as "Bruce Wayne" and then the camera zooms out to reveal that it's Batman reviewing the security footage.

I enjoyed it — getting chased in any game is really exciting for me.

Even if I hadn't enjoyed it (or hadn't got through it without dying my first time), it didn't take a long time at all. After hearing complaints about the Batmobile, my reaction to that (and every other Batmobile sequence) was "...That was it?"

I beat that before beating the game and
he still reveals his identity. It was pretty surprising overall, for such a short side mission.

I cant answer your question but i have to say that was one of my favorite moments in the game.

They just change some dialogue but it's mostly the same.

And that's what I was trying to upload:

LMAO
how does this even happen?

Interesting, that seems a little strange considering that
Hush could then just tell everyone who Batman really is but I suppose for a maniac obsessed with Bruce Wayne it wouldn't be difficult for people to dismiss his 'theory' as the ramblings of a madman.

And they could've added the Scarecrow DLC boss fight as a part of the final confrontation against him, but I guess people would have said "BATMOBILE AGAIN ?!" but I would've liked to see it implemented in the main game.

Even as one of those people that think the batmobile was a tad overused, I agree.
That part definitely should have been a part of the final boss sequence. The sequences are already based on the Asylum hallucinations, and since the finale takes place at the Asylum anyway, it would have been an extra fitting throwback.

Anyone else notice Batman is constantly revealing the secret identity of everyone in from of super villians?

"Barbara come in." on the coms

"Alfred I need this"

"Dick come help"

Uhmm, hey Batman, we have codenames......

I just got a scene where some secretary was cowering and Batman called Alfred, name and all.

Yeah, it always bothered me in this series, and on top of that it's inconsistent.

There's already been instances in these very games where a villain hacks into his coms.

I'm on NG+ right now and am waiting until after the end to complete side missions. When I did this one,
Batman told Lucius to lock him away somewhere on site, iirc.

I didn't expect this, but I actually think those Scarecrow tracks are the best bit of dlc so far. Had fun with them.

What's the best way to progress through the game story wise? I've been reading that there's a different ending based on how you beat the game? Should I be tackling the side quests first or just blowing through the main campaign ?

Yo those Batmobile racing AR challenges are hard as nails. I'm not talking about the Riddler ones - I'm referring to the races where you're supposed to somehow know where to go and get these off-the-beaten-path hourglasses to extend your time even though the arrows on the road are supposedly pointing you towards the most direct route.

Did anyone have to use a guide for these? Are you just supposed to trial-and-error it until you have some rote memorization of where the hourglasses are?

These and Slumdog Billionaire can go die in a fire.

Honestly i thought those were kinda easy. Just do your best on the first go and once you realize how many enemies to beat and the direction to go, should be pretty simple. My tip would drive in first person and save your missiles for the last round of tanks. From what i noticed getting at least one time glass should help you beat it with decent time to spare.

There's only 3 that for some reason i can't get 3 stars at all and that's that regular Battank combat challenges where you have to get 20k or something points. I can get a whole round untouched with one hit kills and barely get 2 stars. The seek and destroy one sucks too. It's pure luck if the cars spawn by you. There was a time i drove for at least 30 seconds without a car in sight. Luckily the the Scarecrow missions bailed me out.

If he
told anyone he'd lose what he worked for.

"Hey everyone. Bruce Wayne is Batman, I mean I am ... ah shit".

It's a lose-lose situation.

Does anyone know if the game auto saves at certain points in the tunnel section of the game with the batmobile and excavator? Or do I need to get into all three areas without dying? I just need to know so I can decide whether I should just look up the ending on YouTube.

I love 99% of the game but this section is absolutely destroying my goodwill and patience.

Oh man I feel you, I found that portion of the game to be so damn terrible that I barely played it at all for an entire week. The camera flipping around like a mad man makes it so annoying, really ruined the game for me.

In good news, it does auto save after each "section" of his health, so if you just do it a little at a time you'll eventually finish it.

I detail that below, but know this: just do what you want. No matter what, you'll miss out on dialogue depending on what you do first, so just do what you want, when you want. No side missions are time sensitive. The top of the "mission select" wheel is always the main storyline.

The endings are successive, so just beating the main game gets the first part (which has some ramifications on the post-ending city/characters/dialogue), then beating most of the side missions gets you the next part (essentially just a cutscene) and then 100% gets the last part (an epilogue of sorts, entirely a cutscene). If you don't want to do the side missions and/or 100%, you can just watch the endings on youtube after beating the main game.

It'll be up for everyone to buy on Tuesday.

Not quite everyone

I get a vibe that people were looking for problems with the Batmobile from day one with this. I think maybe the Van Ord review (if he's the one who first said it) started a confirmation bias train against the Batmobile. Then again, I can sympathise with the opinion, even I (a Batmobile lover) was getting a little tired of it by the end.

WTF.

Late game spoilers for those who have finished the militia side quests
Deathstroke's finale is another shitty stealth tank battle?? Goddamn is that disappointing.

Yeah, I spent an afternoon completing all the militia side missions just to get to see deathstroke and then batman beats him in a cutscene... Huge disappointment. Even if he'd just been a normal sword-enemy fight post-tank sequence that would have been better. I mean, hell, they made two-face a generic gun-totting guy.

I defeated Two-Face by hacking the escalator he was walking on. Sooo disappointing.

Thanks. I'll keep playing the game. I stopped for two weeks I was so pissed off at that section.

I don't think that's fair to say. I pursued very little media on this before release, and didn't really have an opinion on the implementation of the Batmobile. I thought if anything it would complement the game nicely. The fact that it becomes an overriding part of the gameplay and almost every aspect was designed around it is what soured me on it. Plus I just didn't find it all that fun to drive, and the tank battles didn't bother me as much as others, but were largely trivial and simplistic.

That one is a pain in the ass. Unfortunately, it's just a matter of trial and error. There is no hidden win-strategy, no secret line-launcher option. It's just trying 50 times.

Remember that after the blade tunnel is another sharp turn to the right; the blade tunnel is not the final part.

finally got it, wouldn't be so bad if the controls weren't ass for gilding in tight spaces

Beat AA, AC, and AO (loved the story but was truly getting burnt out on the formula, at this point)

Im glad the Batmobile is in AK, otherwise I really think there just wouldn't be enough to distinguish it.
I find myself not even missing the signature fisticuffs as much due to the moment to moment variety in AK.

TRUST ME, I was reaaally expecting to be indifferent to this one as Rocksteady's last entry, AC, was just widly overrated in my eyes...

Yep, that's fair enough. It's a vibe I got – not any well informed opinion. I just don't quite understand how people took such an issue with it. The tank battles got a bit tiring (but that's only by the time I was personally at 92% completion), but aside from that I liked all of it. People mainly complained about the tank battles. And whenever I counted my time in-Batmobile, it was always at about a 1:3 ratio of on-foot gameplay, which was totally fair enough.

Plus I liked the
drill machine
boss. The fight didn't outlast its welcome and was a nice change. It was far superior to the Killer Croc boss in Arkham Asylum, and was the same sort of thing. It seriously lasted about 3 minutes. I don't get why people found it so problematic.

The lack of a proper fist fight battle with
either Arkham Knight or Deathstroke
was ridiculous, though. Such an oversight.

Ok I was defending the bat mobile as a great addition and tank battles a minor annoyance , even after the knight sewer section, but the last tank battle is straight up bs and has completely changed my opinion of the game, I've died about 25 times now on hard and I've found the rest of the game up until this point pretty easy.

Any tips because if I stay in a corner I get wrecked and if I try run and hide they just endless come from all directions.

Game was a 9 out of 10 but now it's a 7 purely based on the last tank battle .

If it's

, to the left is a breakable wall to get round the side, just stay there and funnel them in.

Are you paying attention to Oracle? She's targeting specific drones for you to hit which will EMP everybody.

Was just browsing the Arkham series Reddit, and apparently
it's possible for Man-Bat to break out of his cell. The Most Wanted total goes back down by one and he roams the skies again.

Apparently it's triggered by setting your console date to Halloween. On PS4, you apparently have to disable your network connection.

Oh shit. This was probably intended for when the game was going to be released last October.

Yeh I am but it's still hard. Thanks for that breakable wall tip I think that will save me. I've got so close a few times. Such a frustrating part of the game which IMO ramps up the difficulty.

That bits no different then any of the other tank battles and you get a helping hand. Just keep moving. You do realise you can dash out of the way right. And tanks only take one shot with r1

I love stuff like this. I'm tempted to set the date ahead and try it, but I may just save it for the actual day anyway.

likely similar to the vibe i get - that a number of batmobile fans were being (& continue to be) seriously disingenuous in 'not being able to understand' how inserting a particular type of mechanic into a series that'd never featured it, & making that mechanic mandatory for a sizable (as in, 1:3 ratio) portion of the game, how this could possibly seriously detract from a number of series fans enjoyment of the game...

all one need do is choose a type of gameplay mechanic one isn't personally fond of, & imagine it being inserted into the latest iteration of a personal favorite series (in a 1:3 ratio). there! - not so much fun, right? :) ...

I thought it would be similar to
the boss fight in Origins, which I liked, although I might be in the minority.

When I read about how everything related to the Batmobile was broken/badly implemented/lengthy/etc. and then played the game, it was hard to understand where people were coming from. I can understand how someone wouldn't enjoy a particular type of gameplay Not everyone is just voicing their personal experience — there's no ignoring many people try to prove that Batmobile/Bat-Tank stuff is outright poorly made, or completely incongruous within the game, or within the series as a whole (even when it isn't, i.e. gadget use). If ever

That said, I do sometimes see people mention they don't find getting through those segments to be hard (mostly referring to the tank segments) yet still say they kill the experience for their favorite series, and they say they stop playing despite loving the game otherwise. In those instances, I do really don't understand how they'd let such short sequences keep them from a game they purportedly would love — if they were lukewarm about it to begin with, then I'd understand. The series already had brief distractions/gameplay changes before (spatial puzzles, following trails, etc.) that last about the same amount of time. If blowing up 6 tanks in 30 seconds (or even 60 in 3 minutes) is all it takes to keep you from what you say would be your GotY or GotG, then that's just foreign to me. I must have just played too many games with truly jarring and truly lengthy gameplay switches to consider AK's to be notable.

Has anyone been compiling a list of other Easter eggs? I've noticed some stores that make references to other Batman media (but aren't, as far as I can tell, connected to any riddles). One store was called "Dr. Milo's" (from the DCAU) and I've seen one or two "Music Meister" stores (from BatB).

Bought the game a couple days ago and just finished the ace chemicals part. Are all the AR missions and races meant to be so hard?!!

There' are posters that reference the movie Clayface was in in the Batman: The Animated Series episode where his old co-star was trying to help him become somewhat normal again.

I think they made those harder since there are fewer than in past games.

Oh, right! Not to mention a ton of Gray Ghost posters from BTAS - except it's titled "The Ghost in Gray" for some reason.

Also, all the visual (and occasional thug/militia) references to Ferris, Queen, LexCorp, Keystone City, Metropolis, etc. along with some of DC's fictional countries like Kasnia.

Yeah, that was pretty cool. I just noticed those because they're in a bunch of places — I'm sure there are tons of stuff like the Music Meister reference that are only in one spot.

I am really pissed right now. I just got the Arkham Knight's Identity spoiled on Wikipedia of all places.

I just purchased a couple Batman books on Amazon (Year One and Killing Joke) and was just checking out a couple character's wikipedia pages and went to Jason Todd and right there was Arkham Knight under his aliases.

I guess shame on me, I should have just put my head in the sand on all Batman until I beat it but I have not had a lot of time to play lately with my three month old taking all my time right now.
