Madcatz's twitter response to XB1 TE2 related questions is basically ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

https://twitter.com/MadCatz/status/627118984760963072

Yeah, ideally a response to something like this would include at the very least some sort of insight into how they are working to solve the issue. That along with an ETA for a fix would be even better, even if it's to say they're not sure how long it will take but they're actively working on it.

This reads more like "it's broken, don't know why, sorry about your luck."

I would like some advice I play killer instinct and I want to try a stick but I'm not sure if i can justfy playing £150+ for a fight stick I might not like. What's the best way to go about this ?

I have an Mad Catz SFIV SE stick, but I kind of want to move the parts to something larger like the TE version. Are there places to buy just the plastic shell for a stick for cheap? I have Sanwa buttons and stick so I don't really want to pay a bunch of money for a new stick if I can just move those to something else.

Has anyone had any issues with PS4 TE2 with bubbling and rainbow effect discolouration under the plexi? I bought it very recently and have been in contact with Mad Catz but they're trying to say it's common (therefore I should just deal with it) but I own other Mad Catz sticks which are impeccable compared to this.

Just an update on this, I removed the plexi and cleaned the residue from the artwork which cleared up a lot of the discolouration but the plexi was sill in pretty poor condition.
I sent them some pictures and they they sent me new artwork and new plexi which I'm pretty happy with now.

Here's a picture of how it looked out of the box:

Sorry, I am sure this has been discussed in this thread before, but how I do I get the PS4 MadCatz TE2 stick to work with Windows 8? With the 360 sticks it's plug and play, but that is clearly not the case with the PS3/PS4 stick.

It's plug and play for me. What issue are you having?

1) Make sure you have the 360 controller drivers downloaded. You can find them here.
2)Download SCP service.
3)Go into the bin folder and run scpdriver.exe.
4) I don't know about windows 8 but I upgraded from windows 7 to 10. So in 7 I had to check force install to get the drivers working while in 10 I had to make sure it wasn't unchecked. Try a method and if it doesn't work uninstall and reinstall.

That's how I got my Q4 running on my pc.

Pretty sure all the PS4 native sticks are plug and play on Windows

Eh, I think that depends on the OS. Like for Windows 7 I could connect my PS3 controller and it recognized it and downloaded the PS3 drivers. Worked strictly on a game to game basis though. Some games refused to take it so i'd end up emulating it as a 360 controller. Street Fighter IV read it just as a generic controller. On Windows 10 it recognized the controller but Street Fighter never recognized it until I emulated it as a 360 controller.

Edit: Nvm, read that as ps3.

I know we've seen and used this image of Ryu from SFV a million times over, but I love it! Added one of the backgrounds from SFV faded in the background. This is for a 360 TE2 with the red side panels. Using all black buttons and balltop.

EDIT: It was a little too dark. Brightened it up a bit

I am running Windows 8.1 64-bit and am trying to play Rising Thunder with the TE2 stick. I have it set to PS4, but it doesn't register any inputs on the stick.

I think that's an issue with Rising Thunder. You need to use JoyToKey or some similar software to emulate keyboard inputs with your stick.

For a novice there is honestly not much you could do wrong in terms of hardware.
Both Hori and Madcatz sticks work out of the gate on pc.
Since you have no preferences in the beginning it doesn't matter what kind of joystick and buttons are used as long as they are of quality. That's something which you could think about a year in or so.
Maybe watch this tutorial on how to 'hold' a fightstick? (starts at 2:00)

Thanks for the info, good to knoew that I don't have to build my own.

Can I get some feeback on these options? All seem nicer than the red. Thinking the white version with black balltop...?

Question for you guys if you get a chance. I'm about to order some springs for the Hayabusa, and trying to decide on 2 lb vs 1.5 lb. How stiff is the Hayabusa w/ 2 lb springs compared to the stock Sanwa JLF?

The 1.5lb spring might me more like a JLF, the 2lb is definitely stiffer overall.

I'm not seeing anything controversial here. Driver support is up to Microsoft and they're working on it.

I'm not saying it's controversial, it's just an update to a tweet from a few days ago. TE2 sticks have been out for a year and half (I think); folks were expecting something to happen by now.

As a PC gamer, this is why I just stick to 360 arcade sticks.

It is a weird situation, but hopefully Microsoft can finally fix it.

Agreed. I imagine that we will know if it's fixable by the time KI makes it to Win10

The reality is that it bums me out that I have to use my 360 TE stick on my PC, rather than my KI TE2 stick.

So yeah, first world problems dot jpeg.

What would you say is this best stick for a PC Gamer?
It's mostly preference. Right now, any 360 stick with high quality parts. I like the easy to open Atrox or the te2, but if you don't need that, most Hori Arcade Pros and madcatz fight sticks will do just fine.

If you're not planning on hitting console tournies for SF5- Qanba Q4.

If you're planning to- one of the current PS4 sticks, though I'd wait for a sale if possible or for whatever Qanba puts out for PS4.

Oh yes, I forgot about Qanba! I've owned the Q4 and its great. Also compatible with PS3 as well I think.

Finger pointing? What do you want us (Mad Catz) to do?

The sub type and way the VID/PID works is totally up to Microsoft. It's not on us to get it working with PC. I've talked to Microsoft about this since the first PC controller driver was released. I've talked to them at events about it. They are aware -- it honestly just isn't a big priority for them.

However, Adam Heart (Keits from Iron Galaxy) tweeted that MS mentioned they expect to get it working fully before KI PC is released.

Keep your fingers crossed for sooner.

Do any of your sticks currently work with PS4 and W10? I need a new stick by next year that can run on both.

I haven't tested but all of our PS4 sticks should work with PS4/W10. I'll check tomorrow.

We love you Markman. Always appreciate you keeping your cool.

EDIT: where can i get a madcatz TE2 screwdriver? Out of stock online :(

We may be getting more soon. What happened to yours?
