Finally we’d like to mention that full support for custom soundtracks via MP3 on your PC is planned for implementation.

I would laugh if I could put in yakety sax for alert phase

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
The specs are higher than my system (8/10 of newer high profile games are) but GZ ran like fucking butter on my PC so I'm not worried.

You'll probably see a performance impact in TPP even while sharing overall engine/assets/rendering with GZ due to the former having to calculate and stream data from a much, much larger map. That being said requirements are the same, and if GZ ran well I imagine TPP will run fine too.

- After our PC launch of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, back in December, many players have asked us to separate the graphics options and allow for greater control over depth of field and other graphic settings. We’ve listened to this feedback and are implementing separate settings for a variety of the controls related to graphics. This will be implemented for in-game activity, but I’m afraid we can’t change setting differences for cutscenes.
Bless.

MGSV, especially if you're playing on PC. I'm excited for Mad Max, but I'm also very wary of WB's PC output now. Definitely gonna wait at least a week or two to get it.

I think he was being sarcastic.

One is candiate to game of the generation and comes with a game released last year that runs flawlessly on crapware.

The other is a game published by WB, dont think (hope) I have to say anything else.

Wonder what this means?

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.
But what if I already own Ground Zeroes? Do I get a gift copy to give away?

Hmm, I'm a bit conflicted. Something just feels a little wrong not playing MGS on PS but clearly the performance will be better on PC than PS4 and I can run it at a higher resolution. I think I will probably stick with PS4 because MGS is the only game series that I actually collect art books and stuff for so I think a physical copy would be nice.

It's sad that I'm sitting here wondering if it a two week-delay would be better, so that I have a higher chance of avoiding a AK-like situation.

Ah, motherfucker, I'm getting this day one either way.

System Requirements

MINIMUM:
OS: Windows 7x64, Windows 8x64 (64-bit OS Required)
Processor: Intel Core i5-4460 (3.40 GHz) or better; Quad-core or better
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 (2GB) or better (DirectX 11 card Required)
DirectX: Version 11
Hard Drive: 28 GB available space
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card

RECOMMENDED:
OS: Windows 7x64, Windows 8x64 (64-bit OS Required)
Processor: Intel Core i7-4790 (3.60GHz) or better; Quad-core or better
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 (DirectX 11 graphic card required)
DirectX: Version 11
Hard Drive: 28 GB available space
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card (Surround Sound 5.1)

The recommended CPU is more than likely totally overkill. A modest Core I5 should do just fine.
If Gz is anything to go by, any cpu will do fine.

Konami did right.

(I was going to buy both PS4 and PC, now I won't, just PC now. So maybe they did wrong as a business)

Damn, I just bought Ground Zeroes. Gonna play through it this week hopefully. At least I'll be able to gift that second copy/license I get from TPP.

Have they said anything about mouse controls not being complete jank? It was pretty impossible to use a mouse when aiming because it would stutter around instead of smoothly moving. I had to use a controller to snipe the targets in the assassination mission in GZ, which is pretty annoying.

But what if I already own Ground Zeroes? Do I get a gift copy to give away?

They specifically point out that it's a giftable copy.

That's a great great news, i was gonna buy it on Xbox One cause i didn't want to wait 2 weeks to play such a game, but now i'm gonna preorder it on Steam and enjoy it on day one on its best version, this game should run great on my i7 4770k and GTX 980 even downsampled, Thanks Konami for once

For you.
Someone who is buying this on Steam, can please post here the registry entry present if your history, so we can judge if it's different from Nvidia codes one?
This should clarify if the only pre-purchase bonus is GZ, so Nvidia users should receive the doc, skin etc.
It's always different. Store and retail subs are separate. Doesn't necessarily mean se are or not getting the preorder incentives

I was already making plans to avoid the Internet for two weeks. Now I don't have to!

I got a free copy of The Phantom Pain from Newegg, but it doesn't look like that grants a copy of Ground Zeroes. Hopefully it'll go on sale before September 1st.

"As a result of the updated timing, console versions of METAL GEAR ONLINE will go live on October 6th, with the PC version set to release in January 2016."

WOW, Konami with that bait.

Wow, should not have bought GZ.
Oh well. Now I just hope the game will be good, the gameplay videos didn't make me too excited.

Please, do you have to mention your specs every time you decide to buy a game on PC ?

Glad you guys getting it on the same day.

Why not? Legit curious btw

I am just a bit afraid it is going to suffer from the usual open world trappings. Also the mechanics of sending everything to motherbase via magical fulton system seems kinda lame, not to mention all the cardboard box hijings.
I do hope the game will be amazing, obviously.

I also like what they posted on steam:

- Firstly, similar to Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, the team are committed to an optimized PC release, allowing for as much of the Steam community to purchase and play the game.
- Likewise, MGSV will continue to have 4k resolution support in The Phantom Pain.
- Players have asked for Windows 10 support as well, but while we can’t confirm official support by launch, we’re looking into this for post-launch patches if necessary. However from all accounts, the basic performance should be to par.
- For our Steam community, we can confirm the creation of Steam Trading Card support when playing Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
- Finally we’d like to mention that full support for custom soundtracks via MP3 on your PC is planned for implementation.

Well you can ignore the box thankfully unfortunately you are stuck with fulton if you wanna upgrade your stuff. Yeah I'm hoping the enviorments are as fun as Witcher when you go about your stuff in the world, more of that and les of AC.

Dammit I have the PS4 CE pre-ordered... I wonder if I should play that first or keep it sealed and just play the Steam version...

I hope to jebus that this is a good thing. Not that fact that they're gonna rush the PC version out because they don't give a shit.
