Who gives a crap if the game is exclusive if your buying the PS4 version anyway?

I am ready for ff12 remaster

I can't even imagine playing Gravity Rush on a big screen. It will look beautiful but the gameplay just fits the handheld so damn well. With Gyro controls especially, moving around your vita to get the right angle and such was a lot of fun ...

I know GR2 won't be on vita ..it makes me really sad :(

I would pay for the following PS4 remasters

- Demon's Souls
- Valkyria Chronicles 2&3 Bundle
- Dragon's Dogma

That doesn't make any sense at all. Rocket League, Until Dawn, The Tomorrow Children . They are investing in smaller titles.

Isn't Rocket league an indie game? Not sure about the other 2.

But I think the point the person you quoted is trying to make is that Sony could take the money being used to fund remasters and instead use it to make a brand new smaller title.

Yes that Is all that's on offer there are no other games at all.

Sony themselves have had pretty shitty output this gen so far. They're relying far too heavily on other companies to fill out their lineup. It's hard to complain about taking extra time to finish a game, but for fucks sake, shit or get off the pot. Sony has spent the last two years riding the wave of their and MS E3 announcements with very little reason for their continued success. I guess it makes business sense for them to sit back while they're already successful. It would just be nice if they did more to justify their #1 standing right now.

Hasnt Beyond: Two Souls been rumoured for years at this point?
It's been officially announced already.
There's screenshots even!

That's like saying Microsoft could take the $2.5 billion they spent on Minecraft and instead use it to fund 25 AAA games instead. It's not a very compelling argument.

Uh well they are spending tons of money on tons of smaller games. Ever heard of the Pub Fund? I dont think i need to pull up a list. Sony doesnt just fund 3 or 4 games and remasters and call it good.

How many Sony owned games from the PS3 era are there?

Folklore remaster?

Resistance Trilogy Remaster?

Motorstorm Trilogy Remaster?

Demon's Souls Remaster?

Killzone 2 and 3 remasters?

INfamous 1 and 2 remasters?

GRAVITY RUSH REMASTER LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO

I don't know if they would do PS2 era games, but i've been waiting for Dark Cloud 2 remaster for a while...

Or they can make the remaster and use the money made from the remaster?

I mean spending money on something you own isn't a problem, but, spending money on something you don't own like on exclusive timed dlc or timed exclusive game, Now that's a whole other issue.

I'd still like to see the first two Socoms remastered. Not only were the online portions of the game highly addictive but the single player campaign I think was a bit underrated as it felt more immersive then your average single player game when you could use voice commands to order around your AI seal squad. It almost had a multi player vibe when you felt like you were communicating with your squad.

Socom 1 and 2 could benefit from a remaster because unlike other franchises the gameplay wasn't the same throughout the franchise. From Socom 3 on they started massively overhauling the entire format so that you never knew what you'd be getting in a Socom box and most changes were serious downgrades to the original games. The only place to get the gameplay of the original successful games would be through a remake, newer Socoms wouldn't be competition to it because they offer entirely different styles of gameplay.

Probably because games this generation require tons of more time? MS side hasn't released so much more. Sometimes people are completely irrational and likes just to complain. There is any kind of relation with remaster and lack of new game releasing.

Most of bc games run at the same or a bit better, also the whole point of remaster isto charge you to be able play your old games. Ports like gears ue or metro redux are to give you a modern experience

A "modern experience" lol

What a full of shit post.

Sony's already funding dozens of smaller and AAA titles. They have a good balance of everything.

It's still a dumb point. Not only because of the fact that they have been funding quite a lot of smaller titles

Resogun
Alienation
Rime
Everybody's gone to the Rapture
Hohokum
Entwined
Helldivers
Tearaway
The Tomorrow Children
Kill Strain
What Remains of Edith Finch
Shadow of the Beast
Fat Princess Adventures
Drawn to Death
Wattam
RIGS
+ whatever I'm forgetting + some smaller Vita projects + what they probably haven't even announced

but also because of the fact that funding 2-3 HD Remasters per year quite likely has a minimal or absolutely no effect on how much money & resources they put into developing smaller games, not to even mention they have a healthy number of all kinds of games coming for PS4. Small indie level games. Bigger indie level games. Smaller retail/AAA titles. Bigger retail/AAA(A) titles. Games from pretty much all kinds of genres

Valkyria Chronicles 2 and 3 would be nice, but I don't think it'd jive well with the Steam fanbase if Sony footed the bill on those and made them exclusives. Especially after it being quite safe to say that Steam makes up the majority of VC1 sales.

Same with VC1 if it got a remaster beyond "Set the resolution and refresh rate to 1080/60" after a lot of us bought a non-remastered version last year.

I know SOMEONE here is going to say that Valkyria Chronicles was a "Million Seller" on PS3. No. No it wasn't. Those are Chaaaaaartzzzzzz numbers. If it was a "Million Seller", we'd be looking at VC2 and 3 being PS3 games, and 3 being localized, now wouldn't we?

This is good because they have a lot of players that weren't on the PS3. They have to capitalize them.

And we have the choice of playing upgraded versions of our favourite games.

It does? Pretty sure the PS3 sales were well over a million and that was not at a discount price and according to Steamspy VC PC is not even at 500k copies sold. That's with some huge discounts to single-digit prices.

Uhh the gyro controls kind of suck. You're better off just using the right stick as camera control.

Where the hell she at Sony?
I don't care how many times it's been quoted - first post, yet again. A proud NeoGAF tradition.

This, Demon's Souls and Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen all need remasters. Eff everything else on PS3. Yes, even Dragon's Crown. Buy a PS3.

After those, though, how about some PS2 or PS1 remasters, if you're so hot on the idea?

Uhh the gyro controls kind of suck. You're better off just using the right stick as camera control.
Yes indeedy. Most of the reason I want a GR remaster is so that the controls can be fixed. It ain't no Splatoon in terms of gyro controls, folks.

You don't dictate what is of good or poor value for other people. And you're oversimplifying things.

I'm not dictating anything, I am pointing out that I feel people should get better value. And yes that is simple, overcomplicating leads to obfuscation, you are happy with the current value from remasters as I said earlier, good for you, but why would it bother you that someone is willing to stand up and say you deserve more?

You're discounting crazy Sega logic in your assumption. They saw those crazy Monster Hunter sales when it went PSP exclusive and just assumed VC would catch on better as a mobile game. And then when it didn't with VC2, they decided to try again with another PSP exclusive. And then when that didn't work they just assumed nobody likes the series, until Steam happened.

Because I think people like you undervalue other people's hard work.

I don't want to bring list wars into everything, but this kind of post is as bad as saying "Xbox has more/better exclusive games"

Its a narrative that is completely subjective at the best of times, and flat out wrong at the worst of times, if you actually look at the lists of games for both platforms.

The same type of viewpoint that says Sony has not had any games this year when they've had 6 PS4 exclusives so far.

I know its easy to dismiss if they arent games your personally into, but all Sony has to do to prove their lead is get games on their platform either third party or first, and they have done so.

Not to even mention Bayonetta did sell similar numbers (or even better) and they abandoned that PS3/Xbox 360 sequel.

There are so many PS3 games that I thought performed like ass even when they were new, so why not? The real shame is that developers are making the same mistake again by putting out sub-30 games for the PS4.

Let's not take into account the better graphics or anything, and most run pretty decent on the PS4 anyway.

JohnnyFootball

GerAlt-Right. Ciriously.
Demons Souls
Ratchet and Clank
Infamous 1 and 2
Resistance trilogy is my big want

Killzone is not high on my list honestly, but I do know that people would dig it.

I agree. I've seen people arguing that since they're ahead in sales they don't have to do anything, which is incredibly short sighted. The die-hards will stick with Sony, but the average customer won't hang around if they see a better alternative. We've already seen this with the launch of the X1 and the number of people who immediately switched to Sony. I was one of them. I went from the 360 to the PS4 without any qualms and I'll just as happily jump back to the X1 if MS start to offer a better service and value for money.

For the love of God please: DEMON'S SOULS REMASTERED! Even better they should make a deal with Namco/From and have Dark Souls on it too! It is my dream remaster really.

Also, I would love to have Puppeteer on PS4. I think the IP has a great potential, and it should be given another chance on the console. Sony let it die on PS3 :/ Maybe if it is sucessfull on PS4 we can have Puppeteer 2, please?
