Because I think people like you undervalue other people's hard work.

People like me value everyone's work. I have the utmost respect for creators of all kinds. That is why I will quite happily stand up for anyone who is willing to invest their money,no one can tell anyone how to spend their money, but helping get the best value for it isn't a negative for anyone.

I'm not dictating anything, I am pointing out that I feel people should get better value. And yes that is simple, overcomplicating leads to obfuscation, you are happy with the current value from remasters as I said earlier, good for you, but why would it bother you that someone is willing to stand up and say you deserve more?

I'll take "overcomplicated" over platitudes, thanks.

I agree. I've seen people arguing that since they're ahead in sales they don't have to do anything, which is incredibly short sighted. The die-hards will stick with Sony, but the average customer won't hang around if they see a better alternative. We've already seen this with the launch of the X1 and the number of people who immediately switched to Sony. I was one of them. I went from the 360 to the PS4 without any qualms and I'll just as happily jump back to the X1 if MS start to offer a better service and value for money.

Did you play TLOUR?

I don't give a damn about any other suggestions in this thread, regardless they are all wrong, make a WipEout PS1 trilogy HD remaster Sony. Do it now.

I disagree. Third party games are always a given like Call of Duty, Battlefront, Fallout 4, etc But enticing the customers with buying your console over the competitors with exclusive games are important during the holiday. But its certainly not anymore crowded than past years. Luckily sony has been the most hyped console this generation and im sure that will continue into the holiday regardless.

However as for Uncharted being delayed, its probably better in terms the game wasnt ready and it will be a better game when it does release.

They have more exclusives this holiday than the competition.

People keep repeating this misinformation without doing any research, but from October-December, there are more Playstation exclusives than any other console, that is just a fact. & I'm talking RETAIL exclusives (just before someone jumps in & says lolindies).

Sony's problem isn't that they aren't trying, that's an incredibly ignorant view. Their biggest problem is that they supported Vita & PS3 very late into the game. 2012-2014 had a lot of PS3 & Vita games and it's only natural that those same dev studios are only starting to release their games in 2016 and beyond.

Give Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy a remake like you're doing with Ratchet & Clank. Game is a classic and it's a genre that I need around.

Anyone else think Xbox One BC will slow third party and Microsoft remasters?

I'd like to hope so. It was nice having remasters fill the gap while everyone geared up for the new gen but (unless it's exceptional value MCC and UC collection for example) I'd like it to end

Other than a possible reissue of the PS3's Wipeout HD/Fury, this news does little for me. This remastering of games that benefit little from the process (though admittedly Sonys are usually decent) are getting out of hand.

What I would want most is a complete collection for a lot of their series. So all of the games remastered in one set, no leaving out games because they're "too hard" to get working. No such thing.

Sly Cooper Collection
Ratchet & Clank Collection
inFamous Collection
etc.

Oh, and to have versions of Red Dead Redemption and Demon's Souls just because they shouldn't be allowed to fade away.

This is true, and it is something people usually don't bring to the discussions. In the year of PS4s launch, Sony had a release from each of their big studios on PS4, especially the SCE trifecta: Sony Santa Monica (God of War Ascension), Naughty Dog (The Last of Us) and Polyphony Digital (Gran Turismo 6). Add to that Beyond Two Souls (Quantic Dream), rain and Puppeteer (Japan Studios), Ratchet and Clank Into the Nexus (Insomniac Games), Sly Cooper Thieves in Time (Sanzaru), Soul Sacrifice (Japan Studios, etc. Add to that PS4's launch titles Killzone Shadow Fall (Guerrila Games), Knack (Japan Studios) and Resogun (Housemarque). In comparasion, Microsoft had Gears of War Judgment and State of Decay for Xbox 360 in that year.

I would purchase Demon and an Infamous Collection in a heartbeat. Demon's I think would be problematic though. SONY already scored BB. The salt of MS only players not getting another. From game might be too much.

Remasters are awesome if done right.

A lot of games don't age well, but a good game is a good game, and if a remaster gives it a new lease on life and provides studios with more funding to use on new IP, what's there to hate about it?

Publishers make money to invest. Studios get money to develop new IP. Gamers get to play and replay old games given a fresh coat of paint. Wins all around.

Where the hell she at Sony?

Solid first reply dude. Really about time you got a Gravity Daze/Rush themed tag.

On topic, GR is obviously coming (I'd guess either bundled with the second game a la Bayonetta, or as a cheap digital standalone), but I don't know what else might be inbound besides those we already know of.

I only have a PS4 and would appreciate it if you can post this list of exclusives between October and December. I know about Uncharted Collection and Dragon Quest Heroes but what else is coming out these three months? Thanks.

Pretty much. People seem to forget that a lot of games coming from Japan (3rd party ones) at actually PlayStation exclusives. The number coming to PS4 is already a large number.

Sony always had and always will have more exclusive then the competition, that's not the point. When people talk about exclusive games they talk about Sony's, not Atlus' or NISA's.

Some people feel like Sony has been slacking in terms of First Party support and they have a right to feel that way.

Is there any chance Sony could make a deal with Atlus to produce something like Persona 3 & Persona 4 HD Collection?

Not surprising unfortunately.

it is taking longer and longer to complete modern games due to their increasing complexity. This leaves holes in releases schedules. Remasters are cheap, easy, and fast to do. They help plug up holes in your release schedule while also making you some easy money in the process.

Sony themselves have had pretty shitty output this gen so far. They're relying far too heavily on other companies to fill out their lineup. It's hard to complain about taking extra time to finish a game, but for fucks sake, shit or get off the pot. Sony has spent the last two years riding the wave of their and MS E3 announcements with very little reason for their continued success. I guess it makes business sense for them to sit back while they're already successful. It would just be nice if they did more to justify their #1 standing right now.

Uh huh... So you're saying they had suspended development of first party titles until recently. Maybe you should look outside Gaf and the internet and maybe you will see why it's been successful.

MSG4!!

would make so much sense as that's stuck on last generation with some pretty bad technical problems

The others which would be great

Killzone Trilogy
Motor storm trilogy
Ratchet and clank

As someone who never owned a PlayStation until buying a Vita 2 years ago, I, for one, welcome our new remaster centric overlords, just as long as its the best titles, priced appropriately, and with sufficient effort invested in the project.

TLoU = Yes.
Prototype = No.
