I don't understand the "only night time?" complaints. The game's clearly reaching for a specific atmosphere, aesthetic, and culture. Midday races just don't make sense here. Looks great to me, though I'm biased because nighttime urban environments always look great to me. That orange glow <3
So no real daylight? What was the point of that real-life/game-comparison shot then?
Because I like diversity and changes in atmosphere? Sunny conditions, sunsets, sunrises etc, these all add their own unique flavour and atmosphere, and add to that, they completely change the look of environments, and with it change up gameplay (perception of tracks).
Oh that's a shame. No daylight, only night time...
What you want? Big flames? More blur?
You're free to pick up Driveclub, and Project Cars, and Forza, and GT, and the last few NFS titles, and they'll all provide you with wonderful 24h day/night cycles and/or daytime racing to your heart's content. None of those games are proper tuner culture nightlife racers though, which is what NFS 2015 looks to attempting here. Every time there was a new NFS announced in recent years, there's been an almost unanimous "What about Underground though?" Now we're getting a new Underground. I like the idea of them embracing being the nighttime street racer game with a unified tone. Look up videos for the inspiration behind this game and 9 times out of 10 it's nighttime footage.
the game has only nighttime because story runs in one night. simply. (official)
Fair enough to the latter, boo to recommending I just buy another game.
Even if they offered day time racing, or just driving, to a limited scope, maybe just driving to and from different garages, or to meet different characters or something, It'd still make a big difference to me. Ultimately I just want to experience the city and the vehicles, in alternative lighting conditions, with a different type of atmosphere and mood, to break away from the aesthetic monotony. The majority of real street racing may take place at night, but some of it doesn't, and ultimately these vehicles can and often are better appreciated in the day. Locking in to just night time seems more like a technical and resource/time saving decision than a gameplay one. Rarely, if ever have dynamic lighting conditions and more diverse content ever hurt a racing game.
please make NOS much more visible when used
Downtown is just one area. There's a number of different areas, including canyon roads.

Are you sure? So you do several hours worth of racing, drifting etc, changing, tuning, unlocking or buying a multitude of different cars, racking up more and more money, meeting a range of different tentpole characters, exploring a city twice the size of the one featured in Rivals, and all the rest, all over a single night?

For an always online connected game, having to guarantee 60fps at all times is a hard bargain, especially for a demanding game.
Frame drops means slow down means desyncs. Personally, I think the solution is to allow arbitrary framerates and don't force always online, but I understand the rational behind their decisions. I hope they don't make that same decision this time though, because not being able to hit 60fps in a racer like this would be an absolute shame.
Dude, it's not up to him. He works for Ghost Games/EA. They have a PR plan that he has to stick to. I mean, it would be cool if he could tell us the plans, but doing so could get him fired. No need to push him on it.
Not yet confirmed.30fps PC only or have I got it wrong?
Looks great and looks like the handling is shit so I will skip this one.
Will there be a demo on PSN?
Yeah it's horribele.I honestly think that demos completely died with the start of this generation.
We're almost 2 years into the generation and my PSN Store has 19 demos. 4 of them are Lego games, 3 of them are sports games, 1 is PS+ exclusive (Thief) and the rest is pretty random. Destiny is the only AAA game with a demo on my store.
It would really surprise me if EA comes out with a demo for this game.
How is it even possible to evaluate handling by watching videos? Come on.
What you want? Big flames? More blur?
There are plenty of online only games supporting 60fps at least. Don't overlook the fact that the game could be played at 60fps with a simple command line. MMOs as far as I know can be played at 60fps or more, same goes for MP only games.
No excuses for NFS 2015 not to support 60fps on PC.
Not yet confirmed.
Running at 30 fps provides a smooth experience when driving in this open world powered by AllDrive.
We are listening and targeting 60 FPS in the future.

Oh cool you can turn off the drift brake garbage and make the cars, well, drive like cars. I was scared this was going to be like that hot pursuit reboot with all the cars driving like they came out of a bad 90's arcade game
Yes. Anyone who actually watched the videos would already know you can fully customize the handling of each car. And while that is not a guarantee the gameplay will be enjoyable to all, I still get a chuckle from all this "OMG BURNOUT REDUEX"-talk -_-

ITT, we get to see just how many people never played Underground or Carbon.
Those games have a few things in common:
1-Nighttime racing only
2-Sold gangbusters
3-Loved by fans worldwide
4-Widely considered some of the top n4s games
5-Modern follow-up constantly requested by fans
In my eyes, Need4Speed 2015 speaks to those fans of Carbon and Underground. Nighttime racing is integral to the feel and appeal of Carbon/Underground. It strikes me that this game is a love letter to those fans.
P.S. Seems like there aren't many Midnight Club fans around here either
Best video I've seen so far. Sold. Not been listed in the OP so here's my first NFS video of the latest selection.

Looking forward to testing later builds and delving more into the customisation.

Well, they said this after Rivals was locked to 30fps on PC:
http://answers.ea.com/t5/Need-for-S...-30-fps-on-PC/m-p/1884967/highlight/true#M750
So if it's still locked, it won't be a good look for them.

this was the E3 showing. It seems like it has many more effects going on.
