Sorry for noob question, but why do this?

A lot of people have the drops they need from the oracles and templar, and are running primarily for exotic chances. Saving the gorgon checkpoint lets you skip half the raid to save time, or to just grab the gorgon chest quickly on all characters in a few minutes.

The gorgon chest has a high chance of dropping exotics, and so does Atheon. Doing it from the gorgon chest to Atheon is faster than from scratch, unless you want a Templar or Oracles specific drop of course.

I wasn't strong enough so i ... equiped thorn and party crasher+1. And i used blink and slide and killed 32 people.

I should be around, hit me up. That was good times, especially the part where Baliis got really mad because we kept losing lol. After the first two games that was some of the worst Crucible play I've ever done, even when we won that last one handily I was not happy with my performance.
