My copy from Simply Games arrived today!

Ordered Wednesday afternoon, and delivered to the Netherlands this morning. Was also 10 euros cheaper than buying it locally - even with the shipping.

Very happy with that!

Now just have to wait until the kids go to bed before I can play it!

Well think I won't make any pre orders with GAME again now. I mean I have MGS ordered on steam too so not like I wont be able to play just don't see how they can tell me 4 days ago that it has been sent in on 1st class post and still not have it.

Amazon never deliver anything early. I don't know why I keep preordering stuff from them.

Only mgs game I've played is metal gear acid on my psp!

Wow, just saw the launch trailer, so many memories, can't believe this is the last Metal Gear. If I could afford a PS4 I would buy it just for this game alone.

So impressed with the intro, completely blew me away. Haven't been impressed with an intro like since maybe Half life 2, mad PT vibes too. The dynamic camera is so free flowing, really brings you into the game to experience the chaos.

Question:

I tried redeeming the code found in the case, got access to a "MGS V Day 1 pack", but when I clicked on it, nothing happened. I got a notification that it was redeemed, but nothing is in my download list.

Anyone know what the pack is supposed to contain?

Edit: Nevermind, saw the DLC content in my add-on list.

Have any of the mods/admin been approached about making an exception to having the OT go up early considering there's now more than a fringe handful of us that have gotten the game early from retail? Assuming Dawg's all ready to go, I mean.

I didn't think I'd be this excited for MGS V after 4 left me so flat, but cannot wait for Tuesday. The only thing that dampened my enthusiasm was the mention of having to replay previous missions to unlock the final part of the game in the Gamespot review. Sounds like needlessly tedious busywork. Maybe it will make more sense in context.

It is great but the titles you listed are still great as well. Just in case hype takes over any onlookers into thinking MGS5 makes the others look crap. It is the best IMO, but TLoU isn't too far behind for me.

Played the opening.

Amazing. So many questions. Unfortunately had to stop playing pretty soon into episode 1, got a 9 hour shift tonight. Next day off is Wednesday, I feel like my early copy has been wasted on me.

I think it's just excitement and partially in jest. For me TLOU intro was good but where the outcome was hilariously predictable it really didn't have any impact on me. But it was well executed.

I'm bouncing around MGS threads trying to see if this was discussed, but is it safe to say there will be a day one patch to actually add development time to items / weapons / resources? Every single thing I've developed so far has been instantaneous.

From what I've read in the impressions thread, items will gain dev times as the game goes on.

They sent me an email saying it was shipped out on Wednesday. I only went with GAME because I wanted to get the Collectors Edition and its only them that do it in the UK. If I wasn't going for the CE then I wouldn't have bothered with a PS4 copy at all and just went on PC with it.

Shopto pulled through and my steel case edition arrived this morning :)

The prologue was fantastic - my only real question is whether any DLC codes/save transfers for GZ would be added to an existing game, or if I'd have to start afresh? That's all that's stopping me pushing on at the moment.

I've never seen such a flood of people getting a game early on NeoGaf and YouTube.

And of course I'm not one of them.

Damn Konami, just cancel the street date already so places like Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and GameStop will sell the damn thing.
